Brian Willis is the drummer for this band. Brian and I grew up in the same same town in Oregon and his dad even drove my school bus. I remember Brian playing the drums when we we in grade school. I just find it odd that everything I saw as a kid on American Bandstand they were lip syncing and not performing just don't care for the whole idea play it live or forget it!
Disagree they were folksy. Just a great one hit wonder band like thousands of others that were one hit wonders but you and I are still listening to their song on 2019 so that says something!
"Find Another Fool" reached #16, and "Take Me To Heart" reached #14, so they had three hits total. Their downfall was going for a more synth-pop sound on their third album, and the songwriting just wasn't producing any catchy songs. Their first album is still their best, and it's a shame they couldn't even last through the decade.

These shows were done so cheap and quick you could not do a live take. Back then the censors also had to approve things.
Cant do it live on these shows.
It would require a bigger budget, and it would 99% sound like 💩 by using tv people for a live music sound
