    Loverboy music was truly amazing . In my opinion one of the best rock bands ever

      Actually, unfortunately, bassist Scott Smith was killed in a boating accident in 2000. Ken "Spider" Sinnaeve replaced him.

    You couldn't turn on the radio without hearing Loverboy in the early 80s,they were bigger than Rush if you can believe it

      Hit single/radio airplay-wise, yes... But Loverboy never sold as many albums as Rush.

    Absolutely one of the best bands of the 80s! Even of all time. Hit after hit.
    I would still go see these guys pay in concert!

    This is from 1982 and the outfits and hair are so mid 80's. Ahead of their time. Lots of memories. Music was just fun with bands like these. No hard core messages. Just ready to sing about being happy for the weekend. LOL

    • @Piwork69
      @Piwork69 2 года назад

      I think you are giving them too much credit. Their head bands and outfits are straight out of a 1982 mall rocker clothing store. Even Paul Stanley of Kiss was rocking a head band with his full make-up in 81-82.

    Dick Clark was really nice. I met him on a show I did for his production company. And seeing this video how nice he was to Loverboy and they were so nice to him too!! Giving him their records as a gift. They seem like nice guys too.

    I saw them in the early 80's on New Year's Eve at the Forum in LA. It was Joan Jett, Bryan Adams and Loverboy on the same bill. Best New Year's Eve ever. Loverboy was on stage for the countdown. They were singing "When it's Over" at the stroke of midnight. I will never forget it. Such a great show by all three but Loverboy was and always will be my favorite band.

    I’ve seen loverboy two to three times. One time I saw them with survivor and Eddie money in Atlantic City. Mike had problems with the feedback from the microphone a few times and guess he got mad and walked off the stage and felt like we as fans got screwed.
    I was surprised to see how heavy he had gotten since the 80s. Guess some just either party too much or just let themselves go.

    At the end of the video. Dick Clark says to (Drummer) Matt Frenette... "Michael get up there & we're gonna put you back to work..." Iteresting.

      tryithere It was really an odd thing to say. There wasn't any reason for Dick to say that. I'm not inferring any thing other than the randomness of his statement.

      He was joking because Scott didn't know the name of the Juno Awards ~ he was inferring that he would get killed by his fellow Canadians at home for not knowing the name of Canada's version of the Grammy's!

    I've heard that when these guys did a tour through Canada in 1985, Bryan Adams was the opening act. Seems kind of strange when you think about it today, doesn't it?

      I don't think they toured together in 1985. I saw them at the Moncton Coliseum around 1982 and Bryan Adams was the opening act. But keep in mind, Cuts Like A Knife didn't happen yet. I think Bryan Adams only had about 3 small hits at that point: Lonely Nights, Coming Home, and I think the hit at the time was Fits Ya Good. Moncton is in New Brunswick, Canada. Loverboy's first song that they played was Jump
