      @@williamwallace5857 Well she is playing the sax and singing also. In both you have to have supreme control of your breath...it is tough to do especially live. If she had been playing guitar instead it would've been easier to sing and play.

    no special effects, nothing just GREAT music that tears at your heart, this song.
    love this time of my life, we had it so good...........at least we had it, so we can recreate
    it anytime we want by coming back here and listening to it. I am so glad we had this. God bless everyone........

      Gotta have elite level lung capacity to play sax then sing, then sax and back to sing…90% of saxophone players aren’t also singing lead in the song

    You know how incredibly difficult it is to play that sax part with the enthusiasm it requires, then immediately sing the song with the enthusiasm it requires while also staying in key? Then go back to playing the sax with the same effort? A Herculean task.

      So many great albums during that period. Far too many to list. The Police, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Eddie Money, Pat Benatar, Heart, I can't even remember one-tenth of them without a computer.

    The way the guitarist hits it HARD after the a capella part is so cool. It's like the guitar is reflecting the singer's hardened heart.

    Back when if you wanted to make a living in music had to have the following....
    Able to sing
    Able to play
    Able to perform
    Today's acts just dance, their ability to play is limited, very few acts have following except as teen or 20's then fade away only handful at most can sing and perform.

    I grew up in the Greenwood district in north Seattle. The "G Note" tavern was next to the Lucky supermarket (now Fred Meyers) where I used to shop. I remember seeing the sign out front saying "Seafood Mama" was going to be there. I laughed to myself and wondered what kind of crazy band that was. Later I found out. D'oh! (I also think this is the best live performance of this song I've seen. WOW.)

    In '83 /'84, I saw them 2 times, with Rick Springfield. Both times, they stole the show ! Fantastic live band. Rindy Ross, & husband Marv. -----------------MJL, 76 y/o today.

    Such a great musical formulation!!! I never get sick of listening to it, Rindy has such a beautiful voice along with the backup vocals, drums, bass, rock guitar etc etc etc, you kind of hope that bands can continue coming up with dynamic music formulations, but they often tell you that the song didn't arise deliberately, it just came at a random moment in time, wow!!! I call it divine intervention 🤔

    I always loved that extra guitar lick that comes in about 2:47 when they play this live. Why the radio and recorded version did not have this, I'll never understand. I could listen to this song over and over forever. The harmony when they sing is incredible. 80's and 90's forever.

      He should have done what Lindsey Buckingham did in the famous comeback concert of Fleetwood Mac. He should have made a 3-5-minute guitar solo improvising as far as he could during that time. He only went about 30 seconds. Imagine what a 5-minute guitar solo would have done for that live telecast?

    The hat they threw on stage worked perfectly. Super great song, just wish they had more hits. I don't remember hearing about them playing anywhere back then. Maybe I was just into different stuff.
