That 1st clip was absolutely disgusting. What was the truck driver thinking ? I hope he lost his licence and his job.
And how does he NOT have insurance? Unless he owns the truck…..
What was he thinking? Same as every other distracted driver (phone, phone, phone, phone, OH sh--!)
Causing a collision while uninsured should be a felony. It’s just disgusting.
@@melaniecurtin6402People can get trucks keys from the owner so they make more money as they have spent less on driving requirements. Now the insurance companies sues, and then gets automatic payments out of any paychecks you get (after they sue you which he will be sued)
Probably an independent trucker. Hopefully he loses his trucking license. Although he’d probably continue to drive it anyway.
I continue to be amazed by the number of uninsured drivers.
Yeah just said above, its very strange and disgusting and certainly not the case here in Germany. If you get caught without license or insurance you are really fucked. In USA nobody does seem to really care?
I'm even more amazed that the uninsured drivers aren't driving more carefully so that they don't get caught--unless this is just a survivorship bias
Insurance is a scam.
@@m-stat9 we really are in a decline of care in America. Police are quitting en masse, and you can see often time on these videos bad drivers are not pursued by Police.
@@ValisX ough :(
That first clip is why I keep an eye on my mirrors when I'm stopped, especially when I'm on the bike.
My father taught me to drive and to watch in front as well as ALL my mirrors. To always leave myself a way out. You can't control other drivers but defensive driving teaches you to control what you can... you.
Seeing that coming at me... I would have been looking for a way out too. I've avoided a few rear-end accidents by watching my mirrors.
@@notme2day I agree about the defensive driving but obsession about what is behind you is as bad as being a distracted driver. It is best to pay attention what is in front of you and randomly notice what is behind you. Someone I know paid too much attention to what was behind him while going around a car waiting for a turn and did not notice the car waiting in front of that car to make a turn as well and hit it. I afford a driver, having to assume things can happen, some room to my right while stopping for traffic lights. There is a reasonable time to be concerned what is behind you. One thing I seldom see mentioned is to blow the horn if you see someone is not going to stop. At least that offers some awareness protection.
That's my biggest argument for lane filtering on motorcycles. I try to have an escape route when I'm vulnerable at stops, but it's not always possible.
That first clip with the trucker struck a chord with me. Why do people lie so much? I had a similar situation a few years ago where traffic was stop and go on the freeway. A woman behind me in a Honda was not paying attention and when traffic stopped, she plowed into the back end of my truck. She got out sobbed 'I don't have insurance'. After asking if she was uninjured, I told her it was going to be ok. I got back into my truck and called police. When the police arrived, she tried telling them I cut in front of her and slammed on my brakes. I was pissed she had lied. Another lady who saw the whole thing gave me her number, which I gave to police. I told the cop I had been in the lane for at least a mile. I had insurance but she did not. Her Honda civic was crumpled and undriveable. I only have a dent on my bumper as I had my towing ball on and it and acted like a battering ram.
This witness said the woman was on her phone.
#5 I am a train driver and I hate those kind of people.... Trains do NOT stop on a dime... even if I am from germany and our cargotrains are cormpared to the ones in the US much lighter... the need ~1km to stop... and if u run a crossing right before a train... there is nothing we could possibly do... we have to apply emergency brakes yes... but... the trains I am allowed to drive are passengertrains with a max speed of 140kph and I need with this.... up to 500meters until a full stop even with emergency brakes on.... and one more thing... if u force a train to slam on emergency brakes... also the passengers can get hurt... due to the sudden deceleration... (crossing is near a Plattform and people are getting up for their exit. ) And ah I almost forgot.... we traindrivers are also only humans.... what do you think happens if we hit a pedestrian/car whatever? Atleast in Germany we are not allowed to drive further... so there has to be a repacement driver for us...that on the other hand causes delays... and so on... and yet there are people yelling at train staff why are the trains late.... DONT RUN CROSSINGS WITH LIGHTS ON AND THE GATES DOWN !!! You get only k1lled urself OR/AND others Hurt....
My dad repairs trains I hate it too

That Honda in the #2 slot might have been having a medical emergency
Perhaps more likely: drunk.
That could very well be. But I'm betting drunk and on the phone.
As to #4: I recently retired after 17 years of working in the parking industry. The gate coming down on the Tesla was entirely the fault of the gate. There are generally two sensor loops in a parking exit lane; the first one senses the presence of the car in order to raise the gate, and the second senses that the car has passed over it and exited, prompting the gate to lower again. The timing on the second sensor was obviously off by several seconds. No comment was made as to whether damage was caused to the Tesla by the gate arm, but normally gate arms are padded on the underside to minimize any possible damage if the gate arm does come down prematurely.
Fully agree. Having grown up in Germany, where the clip was apparently taken, I am not suprised. Generally people consider the customer at fault, unless proven otherwise 🙂
4: WTF! The parking garage was designed in such a way that it probably is common that a car has to yield while still under the gate. This feels like negligent design on the parking garage's side.
That started at 9:04. That was clearly the fault of the gate owner. If they want an automated gate, they have a responsibility to make it safe to use.
I always thought they have some kind of sensor so this does NOT happen in case someone has to stop part way under the open gate like in this clip. It seems like that is the case the numerous times I have witnessed people exiting or entering parking lots with gates. I live in the US and the clip takes place in Germany, but I could not imagine that when these are installed all over the world, they do not have the same safety features I have observed in the US since parking lot traffic is fairly similar EVERYWHERE in the world. My guess is the sensor went bad, but the minimal damage would not be worth the hassle of hiring a lawyer to fight the mall's management.
Most gates have a sensor to check for cars before closing. Its a concern for me though when I go through a gate, don't trust the sensor myself 😅
ssue the parking company
Yeah, that's the first time I have seen one do that, and to have the owners deny liability is ridiculous. Hopefully the insurance company can apply more pressure than the Tesla owner.
The trucker should also be cited for lying!
You can be mistaken about the light change and car being stopped in front of you, but falsely stating that the car changed lanes shows that it wasn't an innocent mistake.
That's a serious charge in Canada, filing a false report to the police
Poor. Trucker
Poor. Trucker
#15 Surprised the trucker did not use the "break-check" excuse. Not only should the CDL bite the dust, but jail time is needed for the trucker.
And, yes, I spelled "break" wrong on purpose
No, you spelled "break" correctly. You spelled "brake" wrong.
Oh I get “Break-Check”
Every time I watch a new episode I get more excited when the next one comes out
9:38 - Even though most laws say that you should turn into the nearest lane, it's still the left turners job to yield to oncoming traffic, which includes people turning right. The person turning left in this case will most likely be found at fault. The only exception to this is if the left turn lane has a green arrow, in which case it would be red for the other side and the right turners will have to yield.
This is why I never try to make a left turn alongside someone making a right turn. You run the risk of them turning into your lane, or even the risk of them changing their minds and going straight instead of turning. In either case, you would be found at fault for failure to yield.
Didn't the right turning car have a fresh red light? It failed to stop for the red light, failed to yield to left turning car, and did not turn into the far right lane.
The left turning car had properly entered intersection. It was legal and proper to exit the intersection by completing the left turn even if their light had just turned red. Failing to make that turn expeditiously would have been blocking the intersection.
@@1djbeckerNope. I’ve got it paused - the car on the right was in the process of turning while the light was still yellow and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The vehicle making the left hand turn is at fault.
@@1djbecker Yes, the Chevy Volt driver (Right turning car) was in the wrong for running a red light. But without video evidence, the left turning car would be found at fault. The video never said that the Tesla driver shared the video with the police; Only that he played the video back for the two drivers. It's sort of like being rear ended. Without video evidence, the driver with the front end damage on their car will always be found at fault. Same goes for making a left turn.
The whole, you must turn into the closest lane is state dependent, as are meany traffic laws. Gotta love the USA for that one.
@@6XGate It is better than it used to be. The 'Right on Red' (after stopping) rule was state-by-state until the feds pressured the states to unify a whole set of traffic rules in 1978.
In general all states have a 'must turn into closest lane' in some situations, but the details vary enough that you need to check for anything beyond always doing it.
If your ever in a car accident and even though you think you don’t have any injuries always get check out at your doctor’s office or local hospital. You could have internal injuries and not know it. My cousin is a firefighter/emt and he said it’s very important thing to do.
1:28 I hope the insurance was able to sue the trucker company to get the money back.
of course, and they will go bankrupt
@@dertythegrower If the company is operating without insurance, maybe it's for the best they go out of business.
@@dertythegrower Truck can still be taken and sold to defray costs.

What's truly amazing is that there is still one person left in this country or the world that doesn't realize that Tesla comes with multiple cameras standard.
5:36 Me and my family were involved in the exact same accident a few years back in our transit 350. It’s weird because everything goes quiet for a second and then *BAM* glass is broken and inside our car. Scariest thing ever
Can we appreciate that Tesla window burst outward even when the impact came from outside
Interesting 👀
That likely has to do with the speed that they were travelling, the cabin air intakes would've increased the air pressure slightly in the cabin in relation to the ambient outdoor air, that coupled with the sear wind running beside the car while moving would of "sucked" the window out once the breach occurred.

#2 sure looked like the Honda slightly swiped the cammer.
9:45 The funny thing is the submitter had also made a turn into a far lane.
I noticed this too, but based on the design of the road, I'm pretty sure they would have had to turn into the far lane in order to catch the turn. If they had pulled into the closest lane, they would have had to stop in that lane and pull across two other lanes to make the turn, which would have been far more dangerous.
I love your videos and watch them all the time
@6:12 #8 ~ Angela
I've encountered dangerous items on the highways. Things from sofa, box-springs sizes to hammers.
IF traffic is lite enough (or object is) I'll pull over and move it myself to protect other drivers.
IF not... I call 911 to get the PARTY LIGHTS brigade out to protect themselves and others.
As a retired paramedic, I've responded to the scene of accidents from people trying to avoid accidents. Just because I'm retired doesn't mean I don't still look out for others nor help where I can.
If more people acted like they lived in a village instead of *their own personal world,* the world would be a better place and we could ALL have nice things!

I love watching these with my family and they love it to thanks for making such an amazing channel with great vids❤❤❤
Kind of wish we could get a new hondabumb jingle 😅
I’m so glad that they’re all safe
0:58 The rear crash bar was not used so the force of the truck was just put on metal but not the rear crumple thingy. Thats the silver metal bar which still sticks out above the rear bumper. So that means that the rear crumple zone was not utilized because of the trucks bumper etc. being to hight and not lining up with the teslas lower crash absorbers.
awesome as usual
Whamm bamm you rule man
I absolutely know that watching your videos have made me a better driver.
that's the most action packed intro yet!
That first crash is actually really interesting and shows how the safety cage is designed to remain intact even in serious crashes. You see the space where the trunk is crumple, then right where the rear seats would be the damage stops. Even after being hit with a semi.
Hello! I love watching ur videos!!
:>
9:50 depends, if they made an turn right on red. then you still had to give way
Right-on-red must yield to all other traffic. It also requires a full stop, not running the red light.
I'm impressed by how the Model Y maintained structural integrity during the first clip after taking a direct hit from a semi-truck at speed. There are countless videos of semi-trucks chewing through multiple cars like they were aluminum cans.
Considering the circumstances and the amount of damage that the Tesla sustained, it's absolutely insane that Eddie was barely even injured. This really shows how safe Tesla's are.

1:24 Camera still works. Nice
9:52 There is no "correct lane". If the person turning left has a green arrow the person turing left has right of way for both lanes otherwise the person turning right has the absolute choice of either lane and the person turning left must give way.

3:47 there is no way Ram was going to a restaurant in Marietta late at night after a concert, and was NOT going to Marietta Diner! :D
One thing I learned about Tesla drivers from these videos, is that Tesla drivers can't be bothered to take a few minutes to stop and check to see if everyone is ok after witnessing an accident. In some states, it is against the law to not stop and assist.
Saw #1 from a camera at one of the nearby businesses. Offered the video to the police, forgot Teslas have a front row seat video recorder built right in! Wild to see this angle.
do you still have the footage? i was the one in the tesla and just curious to see the video from a different angle

9:43 In Europe it's legal to take whatever lane when turning right. The driver turning left always gives way.
I actually been to the exact spot in clip 11, I worked at whole foods a minute away
1:58 that suspect got lucky... that's bad.
1:18 while that doesn't seem like a lot, when company truckers are found guilty/responsible of accidents they often lose their jobs and licence.
I'm quite surprised they use Airbus helicopter (former Eurocopter) and not Bell in Australia.
I was almost in the same wreck as the first one the first week of owning my Volt, the instant torque saved my bacon.
Me gustan mucho los vídeos 😂
Eddie's wreck is going to cause me to have nightmares. I really need to invest in a dash cam setup. one thing is for sure. Teslas can survive a hard hit
$34k damage running over a metal bar. Cars used to be able to withstand a minor road hazard like that.
Sickening to see how many people refuse to take accountability for their actions and/or have no insurance
I hope Mark sees this video and he and his wife reply or at least msg you for the shout out. That was hilarious, btw. Keep the videos coming. Thanks 😊
My favorite one is #5 8:28
For number 4, the mall or buildings near me have sensor gates so they keep up in case a car is still within range and they will not go down until at least 5 to 10 seconds after a vehicle has left. It's possible that 'Nerdyone's' car was out of sight of a sensor or the gate had no sensor at all.
Watching that clip where the bear was touching the foot of that person lounging! Way too close for comfort! 😮
That first clip "even though the Tesla crumpled", modern cars are supposed to crumple when in a crash. That spreads the impact energy out, protecting the people inside the vehicle from absorbing so much of it. It's one reason so many vehicles get totaled. A repair shop might be able to make the car LOOK fixed but it won't be safe in a crash. #4 In my opinion if you are going to yield to the vehicle next to you, you wait a couple of seconds before you lift the gate. That way by the time your gate goes up, they are already moving forward and out of your way. Once you commit to moving forward you don't stop until you're clear of the gate.
Uninsured and unlicensed drivers need to be jailed. This crap won't stop until there is serious consequences
I hear you keep talking about uninsured motorist coverage, I talked to my agent about that in the past. Uninsured motorist only has to do with coverage for you passengers, your full coverage covers uninsured drivers. At least that was how it was explained to me. Love your channel!
No. Uninsured motorist coverage covers everybody in your vehicle if you are hit by a car that doesn’t carry insurance.
Uninsured, under insured and the medical coverage are good things to have

A dash camera doesn’t lie
10:59 This may sound silly at first but after watching these sort of videos I've become better able to predict potential issues like watching for people turning through gaps in traffic, looking both ways when the light turns green, and maintaining better awareness of all cars around mine.
My insurance agent once asked me if I'd been injured in a collision. I told him that I felt fine, but I really wouldn't know until the next day. He knew exactly what I was talking about.
