Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners' real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiasts. I contact each person who sends me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up on what happened after what we see on their video. Voice-over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

The car at 45:40 is the Faraday Future ff91 2.0 (I believe). It’s an AI powered hypercar; 0-60 in 2.27 seconds with 1050+ hp on the ff91 2.0 futurist alliance.
They are headquartered in LA, and that is 1 of 10 currently sold in the U.S
Respect
Checks out. Also, 250k (base model) car according to the site. From the looks of it, it might have been a preproduction model as the wheels and the side writing is also missing. Could it have been modified, I would guess its more likely either a company owned model or preproduction test car in my mind. Feel free to say otherwise, I'm guessing.
22:00 Going 80mph in rain? That is downright reckless driving

Not enough credit was given to that young man for wiping off whatever was written on that car. That was super classy of him. I want to believe my kid would do that, too.
Note to Tesla Drivers. FSD, and cruise control, should NEVER be used in wet conditions. NEVER ! !
Thanks for the tip!!!
Why
Very simple. Even Tesla does not know what hydroplaneing is. Only a human can sense that. Because there is nothing to SEE. FSD does not have any visual clues to SLOW DOWN. You need to (drive) your car.
33:16 as much as I hate to see animals get hurt; I’m not going to let myself get killed over some ducks. They’d have no idea I died for them- they’d just waddle on away from the wreckage confused.
Yeah it’s a tough call. They should have at least but the hazards on.
Legally they would be liable for any accident that would be caused, since if they were to hit the ducks, the ducks wouldn't cause any noticeable damage to their car upon impact.
21:25 Smart of Anthony to reverse. If you can't see how deep the water is, don't risk driving through it!
SHUT UP
15:56 A small distinction. The speed there is probably 25mph. The 15mph you refer to is the yellow warning sign which is for the curve. In California anytime you go through a 90° turn or intersection, including yield signs the limit is 15mph. Anything more is an exhibition of speed, especially if you leave rubber.
80 mph under hydroplaning conditions? That takes a genius.
The segment at 43:40 about the jets at Holloman AFB was actually in New Mexico. I was stationed there in the mid 70s. The road is actually a restricted road that goes by the end of the runway, not a public highway.
Jeff's unknown ev at 45:35 seems to be a Faraday Future FF 91
Yup! That is a FF91.
It’s so ugly lol and for $300K?)
The logo itself looks very similar to a chinese car company called LDV
This must be a test vehicle, theyre not even in production yet!
4:25 “RIDE BY THE BAY” - the Mercedes driver was most likely ruled at fault because they didn’t check their mirrors & the Tesla was already in the lane, even though it was not legal. You should always check before crossing another lane.
I I would say the Tesla was at fault. If that lane wasn’t open to driving he shouldn’t have been in it and he was driving what appears to be over the speed limit.
It possible that it would be 50/50. Although the Mercedes driver shouldn't have to check for traffic coming up behind him in a lane that shouldn't have any car driving... He also already had his signal on and was travelling in the correct lane for turning at that time. The Tesla driver wasn't even speeding... He was most likely doing the speed limit and was going to make a left turn as well. So he probably thought he needed to be in the furthest left lane to make a turn. The problem however... is that the Mercedes had his blinker on and the Tesla should've seen it, yet he still decided to drive up and hover in their blind spot... that just dumb.
I'm a kid I use my dad's computer even though I am not supposed to be on RUclips i still love your videos. I watch your uploads every single week I love all of your channels!
Wow, almost 50 minutes of Wham Baam! This made my evening better!
32:18 That thief’s a big old unit 😂😂
34:08 The father and son were not walking against the Don't Walk sign. It was white when they started walking and it turns red a few seconds later to warn new pedestrians to not start crossing.
Not reporting to police because "the license plate might be fake" is a weak excuse for negligence.
True but the fact the investigation on that ford edge crash is still ongoing kinda proves that point...that or the police department's incompetence they have a plate and a clear visual description of the make and model of the vehicle what more is there to investigate besides contacting the damn driver or better yet showing up at their door.
23:45 you can say that cameo really CROSSED THE LINE with that one!
That's a camaro, not a cameo.
47:04 thats why you always call the cops.
Wow, these are very scary! Hope everyone is ok and sorts the damage out.
There has to be something wrong with car accidents in the US.
In Portugal if you get in an accident and the police is called you will take a breathalyzer, period. There is no "if they smell..."
It takes seconds to determine if someone is driving under the influence of alcohol.
Not doing this in the US as a standard thing is just mind-boggling.
Because under the U.S. Constatation they have to have probable cause to believe you have been drinking before taking the breath test and an accident is not probable cause. Most accidents involve sober people so the accident itself is not probable cause.
4:55 ohhhhhh i did that drive for around 2 decades! I got up to some pretty fast speeds in that lane! Thank God no one ever ran me off the road like that MB did! Ouch! 🙏
Why isn't there a class action suit going against Tesla for the rear window problem?
Seems there would be a way to put in better glass or redesign the flip down seat.
I think most cars are the same with that
Just dont buy

In Europe everywhere you can get the video footage from the pillar cameras from Tesla.
19:30 correct! FSD add ZERO resale value. That's why I tell people to just do the monthly subscription when they wanna use it.
That's incorrect. Once you provide proof that you paid for FSD, they should add it to the claim. I've seen other cases of this. In resale, the value is almost worth nothing.
If Tesla’s “let you cut them off”, why did that Tesla let it run itself into the side of that trailer when the guy “fell asleep” 🤣
He should have put the car on autopilot or fsd. It would have been safer.
Would getting road hed disable autopilot? Asking for a friend.
@@delanorrosey4730 Yes and your unbuckled friend will fly out the car and become road kill in an accidents while you get your dick sever from the bite force. Have fun! :)
28:35 the catalytic convertor was probably clogged. They will get extremely hot and anything flammable around it catches fire. I watched a police car almost burn because of them.
Wait, what? Is cleaning them part of the maintenance that gets done with an oil change or something you need to specifically have done after x miles? How do you tell if your catalytic converter is clogged, even?
@@kazzellinempanger8998 The engine will begin to run badly, followed by loss of power and the transmission will not shift properly. No, you cannot clean or maintain them. I have dealt with 2 vehicles with that issue and witnessed many more. The biggest cause of clogging is age and lack of proper engine maintenance. Basically it's a waiting game and may or may not happen to you.
the honda bump sign at 1:51
8:49 tell me Tesla driver where in the ENTIRE STATE of California is the speed limit 85mph????? And you saw the cop and still set cruise or whatever it's called in the Tesla for 85mph????? I really hope you got a ticket and that it was worth it.
in cali we regularly drive at around 80mph when possible. its not uncommon to see cars going almost 90 at some points. hell even when set to 85 they were still getting passed and barely passing other traffic.
@@Genod3500 yes I know. As I lived there for over 40 years. But I still do not understand why someone would set their cruise control to 85, AS THEY ARE PASSING a highway patrol.... Lol
@rondameier8168 because everyone does it. I've passed plenty of troopers and cops going 85 over the years. That cop was targeting. A nice expensive car, that's going with the flow of traffic, but technically speeding means easy ticket. Because if they were going the 60-65 the signs say that would put a bigger risk of an accident than going with the flow of traffic.
@@Genod3500 Because everybody was doing it is no excuse for breaking the law.
it actually is a really good excuse. it is more dangerous and traffic causing if you go 60mph while the flow of traffic is going 80-85mph.@@bobcosgrove3235
I feel like these people who try to lie about fault should get extra fines.
5:00 Legally, i think the Mercedez is. Morally, both. Mercedez clearly had his signal for long enough for the tesla to see then slow down to let him make his turn. However he turned not from the far left while there was no car parked taking this place.
The Tesla was in a lane outside of the designated time allowing the lane to be used during rush hour traffic. The Tesla wasn't supposed to be there.
The Mercedes signaled and gave ample warning, but should've checked before turning. Although traffic laws give priority to vehicles travelling straight over turning vehicles, the Tesla should've given way to the Mercedes.
I'd say Contributory Negligence - both at fault 50/50.
Hate to say it but the video at about 24:15 is not CA. =) California Fire Trucks don't have red and blue lights. All emergency vehicles, other than police departments (Red and Blue) and probation departments (Red and Blue or just Blue) have red lights (Ambulance and Fire) in CA. Re read this and editing.
17:25 funny you include the Swedish april fools rhyme in February, but you do you I guess ("APRIL APRIL JAG KAN LURA DIG VART JAG VILL", an adaptation of the swedish rhyme "April, april din dumma sill, jag kan lura dig vart jag vill" translates loosely to "April, April you stupid herring, I can fool you wherever I want". no I am not swedish I just looked it up XD)
We typically don't say the "Jag kan lura dig cart Jag vill"
But we absolutely do the "April April din dumma sill"
But April jokes aren't as common here as everywhere else nowadays
3:59 -- It looks like the driver intially applied too much throttle (that spins the rear tire and kick up some snow); the car then get into a slight oversteer, but the driver might have overcorrected (on the countersteer) and/or panic-braked (which transfer the weight to the front) that further amplified the oversteer and eventually spun out.
too much brake, look at the brake light
wow its not even sunday and we get an episode, must be my lucky day!
1:50 ah yes the Honda Bump Sign lol
I have been viewing your videos now for approximately six months. One question that keeps popping up in my mind, "Whenever a driver sees traffic slowing up ahead of them, such that it will impact how fast the people are going, behind the submitter, why don't they hit the hazard lights?" That always helps me in heavy traffic.
The narrative is comedy Gold.
14:35 that happened to my cousin, her brother, aunt, and her friend. Sad to say it didn't end well. They guy who hit them only cared that his dogs were okay
@15:59 The yellow signs are not speed limit signs. They are recommended cornering/curve speed. The speed limit would have been higher than the cornering speed recommendation.
yep In the US, yellow speed limit signs are advisory. They are placed to advise the driver of a change in road conditions that would be best negotiated at a slower speed.
9:52 did ANYONE noticed the self driving car in the oncoming road😂😮
Yes it's the waymo
Years ago I was driving on a large span bridge at night. I was in the right lane and tired. I moved over to the middle lane. Ahead was a broken down car in the right lane changing a tire. The tire got away and rolled down hill. It was dark and a minivan was in the right lane. Hit the tire jumped up and tore out the oil pan. The lights went off then back on. It could have been me. The bridge authority provides free tows of the bridge and one should never change a tire 🛞 on a bridge like that.
34:27 is not a do not walk, the walk signal is on and ending x seconds
Just about to comment the same thing.
tbh i kinda lvoe it when you paly the music at the end "wham bam we got a peatroen man please support the show" xD i would support if i had money left to spent :c but please dont stop making this videos i love them
1:15 - Gently ISN'T the way to go when traffic stops suddenly.
You want the drivers behind you to notice you stopping so you don't get rear-ended.
So breaking hard, again and again, will help get people's attention.
People should be paying attention and already be slowing down and ready to stop regardless of how hard or gently you're braking... Because the brake light will illuminate either way and that alone should be more than enough information. However... none of that matter in this case because there was a hill. The driver behind probably lost sight of the car in front once it went under the line of sight and could no longer see whether or not it was braking and definitely didn't see the backed up traffic.
Also, if you can gently stop for traffic then NEVER brake hard... and definitely don't do it over and over again... You want the car behind you to be alerted that there is a sudden stop? Then you should just brake like normal while putting on the emergency flasher.
17:56 yeah you can tell a new driver.
That EV at 45:40 is a Faraday Future FF 91. It's a Chinese company that's been around since 2014. The logo looks like a random shape, but it's actually two letter "F"s diagonally placed.
When i moved to texas from atlanta Georgia i did so on 0 sleep being up over 24 hours. While i was strong enough to make it even with no energy drinks or coffee i recommend that everyone get sleep before u drive and dont try that lol.
I've blacked out while driving. I was able to rouse myself awake and stop nearly in time. Slight scuff on the fenders that could be solved with a dab of paint. Never drove drowsy again.
I've seen motor vehicle fatalities as a result of falling asleep at the wheel.
I'd recommend either pull over and get a cup of coffee or get some sleep......or end up sleeping forever.
@@delanorrosey4730 i was fine because im able to stay up for multiple days at a time if i really need to tho it doesnt feel great but its not something most can do.

5:03. I drive there frequently. I had that happen to me once. I am always cautious using that lane. I will admit to driving the speed limit there which is 25mph. However, the Mercedes driver made a left turn from the wrong lane.
5:05 every kia soul drivers dream is to be this guy😂
I put on my headphones and started doing the dishes and played the video just as I was starting. I got done with the dishes, but the video is still going! California has A LOT of bad drivers 😂🤣😅😅
There is such a mass of goddamn soulless zombies out there. It's making me insane.
That's why it's such a sad day for good drivers.
First, they took away the art of manual transmission driving with slow shifting automatics.
Now they're taking away the art of self-driving with autopilot because of zombies at the wheel causing all of these accidents.
No kidding - saw a short of a couple in a vehicle in stop n go rush hour in California. They filmed a woman asleep at the wheel in her Tesla. Autopilot and other safety systems were doing the driving for her.
Now, given the circumstances, yes, I'd advise she get some sleep before causing a wreck. However, it should be done at the side of the road or rest stop before being on the road.
But the fact of the matter remains that autopilot and collision avoidance systems are being better drivers than today's drivers, there is going to come a point in time where vehicles become nothing more than autonomous human transporting fast food eating coffee cup holders.
Got into 3 separate accidents within the span of a week. It’s insane how little of a fuck people give while they drive.
@@TXlowlifeTX That's why my next or final car is going to be an ex-police car with a ram bumper, no plates, no registration or insurance. Why?

Whooa this is a mega-comp!
1:04 What he doesn't tell you is every one of those conversations begin as "Oh, another Tesla..." before he starts rattling off performance figures and pointing out features while the passenger puts in their AirPods and tries tuning him out.
By the intensity and as quickly as the fire ignited under the car on the Los Angeles freeway, I'd have to say the automatic transmission was overheated and blew an overpressurized cooler line. Automatic transmission fluid burns hot, fast and being under pressure, creates a very intense flame as the pressurized fluid becomes a mist and comes into contact with a heat source, this case being what looks to be an exhaust manifold or the catalytic converter. It also burns cleaner than gasoline, diesel or gear oil so the smoke is minimal in comparison to the other fluids found in a standard passenger car.
16:27 Driving 50 in the far left lane. smh.
All I needed to read was California and I knew that this episode would be great. The last time that I was in LA my half sisters vehicle was rear-ended as I was driving behind her. A a$$hat cut me off to get in front of me just to rear-end her 30 seconds later. Her vehicle was totaled.
15:24 is the traffic going into Naval Base San Diego in the morning. People LOSE their MINDS sitting in this traffic... I'm surprised I don't see more accidents there

And it was the red cars fault, not the truck driver, so why didn't he give the footage to the truck driver?
that lexus at 9:30 is clean tbh
The Tesla in the snow at the beginning did not know how regain control. Everything they did caused them to lose control even more. When losing traction, do NOT hit the gas OR the breaks. Instead, you need to only steer until the car gains traction again.
The best description that I came up with to describe Californian drivers is that they never ever miss their exit. No matter what lane they are in. They could be in the carpool lane with heavy traffic on a freeway with 7 lanes and still make their exit that is in 500ft.
25:32 you know they do it on purpose to check Tesla’s auto reactions. Dangerously ridiculous 😡
Damn imagine being happy to send in your clip to wham baam only to be featured in a video called “worst drivers of california” 😂
