Another good video showcasing rare TRANGIA innovation ,a company that relies a lot on their heritage from the past, for the weight conscience that does represent a problem however as their core modular centrepiece namely the burner by todays lightweight standards feels like a lump of lead. No question it is a survivor from the days when to go light went meant cutting down a toothbrush or drilling holes in things, of course it still functions reliably with the neat screw top enabling the user to carry fuel inside enough for a few cups of coffee and a freeze dried meal .And with that comes untapped potential as EVERNEW and and all the cheap Chinese knock offs have failed to replicate this function with their Titanium variants, it would be so cool if TRANGIA the inventor of this form factor stretched the innovation to be the first to bring this to the marketplace before someone else does !

I think its the Brass burner the qualities of brass metal seem to give it an edge performance wise at the cost of some weight

My issue is with aluminium as I avoid it for cookware.

I bought my second Trangia with Stainless steel pots in the late 80s when they were saying a link between Alzheimer and Aluminium

@@kisbushcraftdownunderwhat new information is there in the topic? Is the link not there anymore? I too keep away from aluminium. That is the reason I use a Trangia triangle with stainless steel pots.

@@pgpagaia According to Dementia Australia there is no link between Aluminium and Alzheimer disease I had a bit read up in 1965 rabbits were injected with a high dose of Aluminium and they had a bad reaction. The current information is out of Aluminium present in food and drink the human body doesn't absorb it very well less than 1%. So personally I don't sweat it the odd cup of tea from a aluminium cup at home I prefer Stainless steel. On a side note some of the cast iron camp cook ware coming out of India has high lead levels regards Mike

@@kisbushcraftdownunder thanks for the info. Felt quite nostalgic, having a conversation exchanging whatever information one managed to gather.
Still worth it to have moderate caution. Worrisome information about cast iron. Stainless steel is the most badass material out there.
