Thank you for the Trangia tips, I will use those. I think I saw on the Trangia website that they sell new rubber parts for the bail.

I love Trangia. I have a few kettles and pots but I always go back to the Trangia kettles. ATB🏕👍

    Just for reference.
I have just bought the 1.4l kettle it fits beautifully in the trangia model 25 when boiling, having the same diameter base as the 0.9l kettle. Obviously it won’t pack up like the 0.9l as it’s too large! It won’t fit the 27 model either inside or on the pot supports when folded out. For this you may be better off with a kettle with about a 160mm diameter base so it will fit on top.

    👍.
My little kettle is also my boiling water GoTo. A smaller version (takes 400ml comfortably .. enough for a mug of coffee or tea .. or a bowl of hot oats). Not a branded Trangia but I suspect that it shares same DNA. 30-odd years and still going strong.
My 'White Box' Alcohol Burner with a piece of Silicon Heat Mat (cut to size .. protects sensitive surfaces) stacked into a 200ml black anodised aluminium mug (serves inter alia, as a stove flame 'snuffer') fits nicely into the kettle. Also then, the entire kaboosh nests very nicely into a Tatonka 14cm SS Bowl .. breakfast oats, and other, now also taken care of 😊.
I was taking a look at all of the other 'goodies' on your table .. interesting 👍.

I also have a White Box, nice little burner.
Being a DIYer I save a lot of stuff, it can get a little cluttered and at times frustrating because I know I have something but can remember where I put it. :-)

What does the 900ml kettle take comfortably? The 600ml is only to the level top of the spout, I would say what is comfortable is to the bottom of the spout inside - thus 400ml. How much can the 900 take up to the lower edge of the spout?

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. With my busy summer I had to find time to dig out my kettle and measure it.
To the bottom of the spout I measured 850ml or 28oz.
I'm not sure how/where they measure the 900ml, I measured just shy 1000ml at the top of the spout.
No use going above the bottom of the spout because the added liquid will boil out or spill when you try to move and pour.
I also point the spout away from any thing I don't want boiling water on, like the stove's control valve (learned the hard way) because the kettle will spit water when at a boil.
