@@cyrilgpilot Ya I was mostly skeptical about losing the Heave but I was able to tune the one at the Expo so you could still feel that effect even though the H3 doesn't technically have heave... it was still simulated which was cool. Yes you do!!!! It feels so real and realistically is at least somewhat affordable when compared to other motion options... like building a real life Mech :) Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for the comment.
The true crime is that Mechwarrior 5 didn't get years ago the VR port. Literally one of the easiest games to be enhanced for VR. 1) Player is suppose to sit in a cockpit 2) Controls can be joystic, keyboard+mouse or trackIR etc. 3) Graphical quality is low for PC hardware requirements to get VR for quality. There is the VR game called "Archangel™: Hellfire " And it is a railshooter really, where you can't control your speed either, just shoot around as you go. What makes it little annoying, but it was back then (7 years ago) already a great reminder what old game designs could be. I would be joyful to have Mechwarrior II and Mechwarrior III in VR. As with their graphics even. Seriously, just make the resolution higher and you would enjoy their gameplay.
I'm hoping the new Clans game will incorporate VR and maybe even motion... at the very least make the HOTAS support better! I guess we will have to wait and see. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@GYGOtv I didn't know that MW5:Clans was coming. I just purchased the MW5 to mod it to be played in VR after these videos. Hi, thanks for your video. Could you comment on motion compensation ? do you have it on? what method do you use? I've got oredered my h6 past week and I am trying to prepare everything that I can for the moment this toy arrives home.. and motion compensation recommendations in h6 is the main topic that I haven't seen on your videos...thanks
Hello francisco, first off thank you for watching our channel... I hope you will enjoy your H6 as much as I have enjoyed mine. So this is actually a bit more complicated than just pointing you toward a part (one of the reasons my video on this topic gets pushed back because there are just so many factors). Anyway, the first question I have for you is what VR Headset are you using, and is it Lighthouse Tracked or Inside Out? Second are you using a transducer like a Buttkicker or anything. Let me know about these things and I can help you a bit more. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you.
@@GYGOtv well, I have g2 as my first option, although I have q3 and a psvr2 with pc adapter…so all of them are inside out, I have read pretty much about openvr motion compensation and openxr.. so ai think I know the options available, so to be more precise in my question, what I wanted to know is if you use motion compensation first of all, and the second doubt is if the wittmotion with the srs virtual tracker would work fine on this 6dof (knowing that that device only reads 3 axes). Tomme the openvr motion compensation seems the more logical but I don’t know where and how I would place the hpg2 controller in the h6, and if the vibrations could be a real problem…thanks
@@franciscojmunoz3938 thanks for the feedback, and yes I absolutely use Motion Compensation! I can't really fly without it now as I notice how bad I move around (especially during a catapult launch). I personally use a physical Vive Wand as a tracker mounted to the back of my seat (by my head) and use that to cancel out the motion. Unfortunately, realistically your only real option is the Witmotion if you are doing inside out tracking on the headset. Trying to use an inside out controller is theoretically possible BUT it has to be mounted in front of the headset so it can see it and if you turn your head and the controller goes out of sight then you might get some weird results. I tested my Crystal with this method before I got my lighthouse faceplate and it wasn't good at all. On the other hand, the problem with the Witmotion method is that according to our testing it only compensates for pitch and roll (not even all 3 axis the sensor has)... that means all the heave and surge/sway movement are going to still be there (ie the catapult launch). Unfortunately if you want to compensate all 6 axis, you will probably need to switch to lighthouse based tracking like I use. The issue with that is it is very susceptible to vibrations like you mention, so if you are going to use a Buttkicker you will need to build a mount to absorb that vibration. If you decide you want to go this direction, email me (GYGOmail@gmail.com) and I'll send you some photos of the mount I came up with. The design absorbs about 90% of the vibration and then I use the software to filter out about 8% more (still have some slight vibration on mine but it is ok because it kind of simulates airframe shake when you are doing extreme stuff). Anyway I hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you out with. Good Luck, I think you are going to love this experience.
Thank you very much for your extensive and detailed response. Well , then I will try to use the g2 controller mounted in some way near the wheel, don't know how or where exactly until I get my h6 at home. Any ideas on this are really welcome. I suppose that to use a lighthouse tracking i must change my headset ..or can it be achieved combining different headsets and controllers?
@@franciscojmunoz3938 Yes you would need a different headset. I've actually been working on a Motion Compensation video for awhile now and might have a different solution that might be better for you but I need to test it a bit more before I go public with it. Please send me an email and I'll let you know what parts you would be looking at to make it work instead of lighthouses.
Well we can certainly hope! I'm still kind of hoping they improve it in Clans too, but I'm sure they are probably just using the same engine as MW5. Thanks for watching.
H6 Motion Platform currently $7500, Seat and HOTAS about $1000, Pimax Crystal $1500, Computer to run it all $3000, Experience It Delivers... Priceless!!! Also you could do it for much less with the H3, cheaper HOTAS and a Quest 3 if you wanted to. Thanks for the question.
Yes, I just have an old Buttkicker Gamer 2... I run it directly from the soundcard and only use the audio from the game. Too many games don't have all the telemetry and stuff to be consistent to use telemetry for my Buttkicker so I prefer to do it this way to keep it simple. I know I'm giving up a lot of effects, but honestly I mostly use it to get the engine rumble to mask the cogging of the H6 and then to enjoy the big explosion effects and stuff like that so I'm happy with it like this. Thanks for the question.
@@WarriorShao Well thank you, I know my setup is "Fire" right??? Did I use that word correctly (askes the Gen Xer)? Anyway I talked to Jeff Weaver and he said he had to use sound too on Mech Warrior so No Audio Telemetry is confirmed. You'll love what the shakers add, even if it is just a mirror of the game audio. I really want to love Mechwarrior 5 because I love Battletech. Maybe i need to just fix everything with mods because the game is just unplayable otherwise. This gameplay looks like exactly what I want but my time with the game has been pain!
Amen to that... I spent most of the time trying to get the controls to work and still not exactly what I wanted. The good news is it does look like the community has stepped up and there are plenty of mods out there to make things better. It is a lot of work for sure, but if you love this franchise, I think it would be worth it for most. Good luck and I hope you get yours up and running where you like it.
To bad they didn't implement crosshair gimble, so your weapons would move where you look within the gimble limits. This has been a thing since mechwarrior 2 but only with the mouse. Hope they can do that eventually.
There is SO MUCH on the controls I wish they did better. You can tell they didn't have simmers in mind when they developed this game, otherwise they wouldn't have skimped on the VR. We will see if Clans is any better but my guess is it will use the same engine and probably have the same control limitations. Time will tell, thanks for watching!
I know it works as Jeff Weaver is testing it on his H3. I'd imagine it rocks and pitches to simulate the heave but don't know for sure. I'll ask if he can let us know how the H3 feels.

If you do decide to add motion, I have a code that will save you 5% if that helps. It is on the game screens and at the end of the video. Thanks for watching.
I had heard it was possible to play MW5 in VR but I didn't know there was motion platform integration for it.
That looks amazing. Really trying to upsell me on the H6 there.
Oh by the way, I know it's still early but have you heard anything new from Igor about the upgraded motors?
The H6 is pretty Awesome! Almost like it was made for this game :) Nothing official from Igor yet, trying to get another Livestream scheduled with him soon so we can get an update. Stay tuned!
MechWarrior on a H6, wow, what a dream! 🤩
I finally have enough money to buy a "little" H3 🎉
Any news from Igor for a release date of rigs with new motors?
I bet this is still pretty cool in an H3!!! I'm trying to schedule another Livestream with Igor but he has been busy. Last I heard they thought sometime in August might be the timeframe for the new motor setup and then before the end of the year for the retro-fit gearboxes for older units. Not sure if that is still the case but hopefully will be able to talk to Igor soon to get an updated answer. Thanks for watching and congrats on your soon to have H3!
@@GYGOtv Heave will always be a great feature for flightsim and also MechWarrior 😋 On star wars squadrons I guess it's Amazing.
Yes I saw his interview on the simexpo and I will be his first client in August (🤞) with the new motors.
It will be great to have him in the next Livestream, I think a lot of flight simmers are waiting for this upgrade.
See you soon
@@cyrilgpilot Agreed, I know they were doing testing on the Retro-Fit deal and I'm curious how that went. I can tell you after using the H3 at FSExpo, that is a heck of a machine for the price and I was really impressed with the motion I felt out of it. To me the H3 is a no-brainer decision for those on a budget and who want to take their sim experience to the next level!
@@GYGOtv if even a H6 user say that, no doubt I will totally love it!
@@cyrilgpilot Ya I was mostly skeptical about losing the Heave but I was able to tune the one at the Expo so you could still feel that effect even though the H3 doesn't technically have heave... it was still simulated which was cool. Plus the range of motion is a little more on the H3 so you get that benefit as well. I would recommend getting a buttkicker or other transducer for it... it made a ton of difference in the overall experience and was a great addition to the immersion.
How do you make it VR? I know of two methods and the both have trouble with the zoom window, but yours looks perfect.
Edit: Lol, should have finished the video before commenting. :D
No problem... I assume you got the VR instructions from the link in the description?
Awesome rig! What are the mounts you use for the wind sim? Thanks!
Hi frederik, sorry for the delayed response... this one snuck by my notifications and I just caught it on my "latest comments" page. I talk about the wind mounts here... ruclips.net/video/zlGQ3N_1LAg/видео.html If you have any other questions please let me know and thanks for watching!
Oooh man, this looks like so much fun.
@@infographistehistorichaiti5929 It has been a blast... Not sure if the VR or The Motion is my favorite... But the good thing is I don't have to choose and can keep playing with both :). Thanks for watching!
Wait til you start modding mw5. I recommend timberwulf sound realism, war fx and ultra visual weather on nexus.
Thank you so much for the recommendations!!! I've been out of the MW World for awhile so all tips are very welcome. I'll be sure to check those out. Thanks for watching!
Now to this Experience you need a Heater that reacts according with your Heatlevel and maybe the smell of heated Electronics...than you have a "Real" Experience^^
LOL, ya and don't the pilots in the Lore drive in their underwear or something like that? I'd have to start an Only Fans Page for that I guess :)
@@GYGOtv In Classic true...but with the Helm Memory Core they were able to recreate Cooling-Suits...so that should be ok for Streaming^^.
Ok after each Game a Shower is needed 🥵🥵🥵🤣🤣🤣
@@merkarion7883 LOL, great to have mech enthusiasts here to keep me honest! :)
Awesome my brother as always maybe this might be a stupid question lol but how about unreal engine with msfs or is that even a thing for msfs. Ok buddy have a great weekend my brother
If it's Unreal Engine the VR Injector should work. I don't think msfs is Unreal however but might be wrong. Not sure you would want to go back to that with MSFS2024 on the horizon, looks like it has missions and stuff that MSFS had as well. Thanks for watching.
How did you get the joysticks to bind i have 2 virpl constilations and waa unable to get them both working in this game
It is complicated as hell... you have to find the Device Hardware ID's and put them in a config file to get things to work. There is detailed instructions in the description both a reddit link and a document on the issue. Hope they help.
If it looks that good already in Mercenaries 5. Imagine how devine it will be in Clans.
Yes, and I'm hoping they make the HOTAS programing a little easier too. I'm looking forward to Clans, that will be more like the original Mech 2 vs. Mercenaries I think. Thanks for the comment.
As a man who plays MW5 a lot, I WANT ONE
Yes you do!!!! It feels so real and realistically is at least somewhat affordable when compared to other motion options... like building a real life Mech :) Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for the comment.
Wow that looks like fun.
Yep it is a dream come true ever since my Mech2 days. Thanks for watching and the comment.
The true crime is that Mechwarrior 5 didn't get years ago the VR port.
Literally one of the easiest games to be enhanced for VR.
1) Player is suppose to sit in a cockpit
2) Controls can be joystic, keyboard+mouse or trackIR etc.
3) Graphical quality is low for PC hardware requirements to get VR for quality.
There is the VR game called "Archangel™: Hellfire "
And it is a railshooter really, where you can't control your speed either, just shoot around as you go.
I looked for that MW5:clans, and it seems that expectations is not good for the VR. It looks to be made around mouse gameplay as well lot, but I don't see it working for VR. Hopefully I am wrong.
@@paristo I think they are using the same basic engine as MW5 does... so worst case hopefully these mods will easily convert over to Clans as well. Time will tell I guess. Thanks for watching.
Maybe they will make a MW6 and get their configurations for VR and the motion chairs together made EASY.
Well we can certainly hope! I'm still kind of hoping they improve it in Clans too, but I'm sure they are probably just using the same engine as MW5. Thanks for watching.
Nice job! total cost?
H6 Motion Platform currently $7500, Seat and HOTAS about $1000, Pimax Crystal $1500, Computer to run it all $3000, Experience It Delivers... Priceless!!! Also you could do it for much less with the H3, cheaper HOTAS and a Quest 3 if you wanted to. Thanks for the question.
Are you using any bass shakers? If yes what program you use to control the shakers?
Yes, I just have an old Buttkicker Gamer 2... I run it directly from the soundcard and only use the audio from the game. Too many games don't have all the telemetry and stuff to be consistent to use telemetry for my Buttkicker so I prefer to do it this way to keep it simple. I know I'm giving up a lot of effects, but honestly I mostly use it to get the engine rumble to mask the cogging of the H6 and then to enjoy the big explosion effects and stuff like that so I'm happy with it like this. Thanks for the question.
@@GYGOtv Your set up is GOD bro. Ima try the shakers this weekend. I guess there is no telemetry as you said. I was hoping you had found a way.
Thanks for watching.
I don't have a motion rig but I do have VR, so I will buy this game.
Mech5 Looks Amazing in VR!!! Highly recommended... just have someone in your house constantly bump the chair you are sitting in and you'll get similar results :) Thanks for watching.
@@GYGOtv LOL I have a buttkicker and it works great in VR for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Wow!!! Amazing!!!
Thanks... it is a dream come true for us Mech Fans for sure! Thanks for watching!
They absolutely implemented this in the VR mod seen here. It's under head aim in the mods settings and is on by default
@@adrian2911 I saw that when i looked up the mod and was happy to see it.
@@adrian2911 Cool, I'll check it out... Still learning all this stuff so thanks for the tip!
How would this work in a h3 or h2 or do you need a 6?
I know it works as Jeff Weaver is testing it on his H3. I'd imagine it rocks and pitches to simulate the heave but don't know for sure. I'll ask if he can let us know how the H3 feels.
@@GYGOtv Yeah cause that looked cool.
