There is no saving online competitive FPS games. Everything that matters will have to be done on LAN, period. We've been saying it for years and deep down I think everyone knows it's true... some just may have certain 'motives' for arguing otherwise.

Arena Breakout has implemented ai into their anti cheat and most cheaters are banned within the day of cheating, a lot of them are banned within an hour or 2 and anybody they killed gets their loot back when the cheater gets banned.
Instead of applying a constant linear movement with barely any acceleration/deceleration u could mimic actual human movement with a massive spikes in acceleration and by logarithmically applying acceleration so the speed ramps up instead of being constant. Also sometimes intentionally misjudging the vector and then “correcting” it to reach its target can also make it look human

If there is randomness applied to the pattern, which would be fairly trivial, then it would look indistinguishable from real gameplay. Include random and subtle variations of hitbox target location, velocity, corrections/overcorrections, and intentional misses and you would have a setup that would be near impossible to detect even with Waldo.
You can also add random noise for the aiming path, I'm not sure how noise can be accounted for if it's always varying and it's intensity can be manipulated at random time intervals. I would love to hear how this would be addressed

I used to work as a Process Engineer at a dated factory that always talked about upgrading to automation. They needed robot arms to take plastic containers out of the machine that just molded them, but they wanted an arm that could remove a container of any shape. “It’s just taking a bottle out of a machine, should be easy.” says all of leadership with no technical or engineering background. Because of what you witnessed in this video, we never got a reliable system that worked. This is great content to show people why automation hasn’t taken off in most industries.

Im a programmer and in game dev inverse kinematics are ESSENTIAL for any animation rig that moves limbs around. I havent even scratched the surface of it so props to him for taking this on cold turkey.
But how will waldo work against more advanced aimbots? Right now you use machine learning to find differences between human inputs and bot inputs. But that same technique can also be used to make bot inputs more "human like". Like lets say you train your bot on footage of professional gamers until it can perfectly replicate their playstyle and movement. Then it would totally be possible to beat waldo. Its an arms race in the end and no solution will be the be all end all. Your effort is appreciated none of the less of course!
Your main point is generally true. At the end of the day this comes down to an AI arms race. The main issue is that the cheaters currently have the advantage. We want to find ways to catch back up, and also make it very time-consuming and expensive for cheaters to keep up
Yeah cheats get better at humanization constantly. It's always been my worry with AI anti cheat stuff, I want it to work and be super effective and not false ban but I really feel like cheats will hit a point they're SO humanized that either genuine legit players will start getting banned or that cheaters won't get banned any more often than now.

But how will waldo work against more advanced aimbots? Right now you use machine learning to find differences between human inputs and bot inputs. But that same technique can also be used to make bot inputs more "human like". Like lets say you train your bot on footage of professional gamers until it can perfectly replicate their playstyle and movement. Then it would totally be possible to beat waldo. Its an arms race in the end and no solution will be the be all end all. Your effort is appreciated none of the less of course!

Your main point is generally true. At the end of the day this comes down to an AI arms race. The main issue is that the cheaters currently have the advantage. We want to find ways to catch back up, and also make it very time-consuming and expensive for cheaters to keep up
Yeah cheats get better at humanization constantly. It's always been my worry with AI anti cheat stuff, I want it to work and be super effective and not false ban but I really feel like cheats will hit a point they're SO humanized that either genuine legit players will start getting banned or that cheaters won't get banned any more often than now.

I already reinstalled OHD and plan on playing the server a good bit going forward to hopefully help out some, if some of my time can maybe help catch cheaters some time in the future I'm on board and have a LOT of time to spare lmao
