    As an owner of the yaw 2. The rotation is amazing for traction loss in cars as you really feel the weight of the car when you say spin 180 or catching a slide but agree on the use in planes. Helicopters though do benefit. Also, I mounted a full gt omega alu profile to mine and it's so much better.

      @@GYGOtv I had to reinforce the flat base where the seat normally goes as it did bend a bit but that was from using that bloody app to test with me in it and I slid my finger on the pitch and it went way too fast up in to the air before my finger slipped and slammed me down again. I then bent it back and drilled lots of wholes to put the alu profile all the way across it and not had an issue since. The new yaw 3 should be even better too as more power than the standard yaw 2

      Hi, I am debating myself which buy between this yaw 3 or dof p3. I want to order it this week.I want it for racing, to feel the acceleration, braking, and of course very important the traction loss. Could you (anyone who owns thw yaw for racing) share with me your thoughts about yaw3 for racing? I have some doubts because that central table mount doesn’t seem sturdy enough for a direct drive wheel, and there is no clear way of mounting the gearshift neither. It seems to me that is been more focused for flight sim. Reallly please! Give me your opinion on this. I have seem a lot of good comments about dof reeality p3, but i am a yaw backer that at this moment can pay for a quick delivery and get it now . But really I have the doubt if for simracing maybe yaw3 is still less mature and no so good as the dof p3, which comes with a real frame to put the wheel, pedals and gearshift …Thank you very much for your help

    Thanks Mark for the 1st impression. Glad you got to try it. Maybe a good rubber matt may stop the base sliding but I also noticed it lifting on occasion with the aggressive motion. My main deterant with the H3 is the lack of tilt angle for climb and descent, which I'm guessing is slightly negated in VR. The YAW seem more than adequate with this. I hope you are provided with a YAW review unit.

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks TDub! I think the big question is if the increased pitch angle of the YAW is worth sacrificing the stability of the H3, and that is a big toss up right now. I can tell you, unless the YAW just amazes me, I can't see me trading off my H6 for it... I think you would give up too much just to get that extra pitch, but we will see.

    As a Yaw 2 owner, I can say some of your concerns have somewhat easy solutions. My cables are on a ceiling mount line system (under $40 on Amazon) which allows for the full 360 and as for the base movement, I built a small wooden cart with rubber toolbox casters on it that can be winched up and down, this allows me to move the unit to the corner of the room when not in use and totally eliminates any base movement while in use. (under $100 on amazon.) This being said, my unit has been broken longer than it has worked, the Yaw 2 is riddled with mechanical problems. Hopefully, much of this is resolved in the Yaw 3 but my next motion platform will likely be a DOF reality.

    • @GYGOtv
      @GYGOtv  22 дня назад

      Thank you very much for your insight! Always good to hear from actual Yaw users vs. me who just spent under an hour with the unit. So I get the impression if you like that extra pitch back and full 360 movement, just plan do do a lot of customizing to get everything where you want it? Quick question, how does the unit "feel" when you use it? Does it feel stable or does it still feel kind of "arcadey" like a carnival ride? Every movement I felt was very jerky but I assume that can be tuned out with the software? Also, how much room did you give yourself for the full 360 motion? Thanks in advance for your answers... I love the idea of the YAW but not sure it is fully realized in practice.

    • @nickg2691
      @nickg2691 17 дней назад

      @@GYGOtv The operation is very smooth, it will simulate the tracks on a roller coaster quite well. That may have been what you were feeling. The room required for the full 360 is not as much as you would think but honestly I rarely do a full 360 while using it, it tends to take away from immersion more than it gives. However I do not do helicopter sims and you can get the feeling of the rear of a vehicle slipping out with minimal movement. I've watched most of your videos and I am honestly kicking myself for not going with the 6DOF.

      Hi Steveb7777, THANKS FOR THE SUB!!! And thank you for noticing our attempt at unbiased reviews and opinions. I pride myself on trying to be fair! Another example is my Quest 3 review ( ruclips.net/video/jV5otY20y0U/видео.html ) as I HATE Meta (see rant here ruclips.net/video/sD-ItA-0_EM/видео.html ) but the Quest 3 deserves the praise it has received as what I think is the Best Value in VR currently. As for racing... you probably won't want to hear this but give up on the YAW and go with an H6... Ironic huh, but hear me out. For racing you really don't need the large negative pitch and unless you are planning on drifting (or driving badly a lot) the 360 spin really isn't a big deal either. What is a BIG DEAL, is the extra Surge and especially SWAY when you hit something on the side it REALLY feels like you have side swiped a solid object. The heave is amazing for feeling that road texture... and if you do Off Road, that HEAVE is perfect for jumps etc. SRS's Jeff Weaver and I discussed this a lot on one of my gaming livestreams if you want to hear a more in depth analysis... you can find that here (I've fast forwarded to the racing part). ruclips.net/video/lsPbbYEy95s/видео.html So I hope this analysis will help make my case... Don't get me wrong, I think the YAW will be better than not having motion BUT if you want the best experience for motion while racing at an affordable price point, the H6 is the one for sure! Please let me know if you have any other questions and again thanks for watching... I hope you enjoy the channel.

      @@GYGOtv Thanks for the reply! I'll have to wait and see what I spend more time doing, flight or racing sim. I'm not even sure yet. I basically gave up both after having a taste of motion with the Yaw2. I have to have motion. That said, I didn't expect I'd be waiting for years! If I end up doing flight sim more, I might decide the pitch really matters. Either way, I have a Yaw3 coming eventually. Unless they open up refunds and I go that route. There is the fact that I'd be my getting the Yaw3 at a reduced price, not factoring in the years I've waited!
      I did pay about $2,500 for the 3DOF pro and some only paid around $1,200 for a 2DOF (non-pro). Ballpark numbers. So far Yaw is saying it is probably not going to have a 2DOF Yaw3 option, and is going to give all remaining backers the same Yaw3 (3DOF) and hasn't figured out yet how to make it fair to backers who paid more.

      @Axacuatl Месяц назад

      I've got mine on a carpet, but I guess I am not doing much of the drastic movements. I use it for simracing, and when I crash I usually quickly hit the menu button to stop being thrown around. It probably helps that I've got the Yaw 2 with the middle desk with two massive arms, and the Yaw module too which all add weight and keep it to its place (the Yaw 3 reduced the weight by something like 40% IIRC).
      But I admit that the GVGO footage shows the Yaw 3 moving all over the place so you want to have at least use a rubber mat.
      If you are flying C172 General Aviation kind of planes you don't have to worry, it's all far to smooth. Which actually let me go for simracing when I decided what to use it for, as I grew tired of refitting controls (and fitting both doesn't work with a steering wheel & yoke).
      But it's a fun device and I find myself using it quite frequently (and sim flight really has suffered as I miss the motion)

      @@Axacuatl Thanks for the comment... Ya I can't fly anymore without motion... It just feels wrong now. Thanks for the question @DaManAbove, and welcome to this amazing world of motion!. I haven't tested the YAW enough to recommend it yet... but honestly from what you are telling me I think your best choice would be a DOF Reality H6 (which is what I own). It will be great in all simulators like American Truck Simulator and MSFS. If you want to see it in action on a roller coaster watch this ruclips.net/video/Vd5aCnDFRYI/видео.html I have a lot of videos on my channel with the H6, so feel free to look around and see what you find. I also have a discount code listed on my newest H6 videos (I can't put it here because the search algorithms will find it so I have to put it in the videos themselves). If you want to know why I recommend the H6 over other platforms, you can watch that here ruclips.net/video/nzmRzF7YQBA/видео.html and that video will give you an idea of other platforms that are available to buy out there if the DOF Reality just isn't your thing. Certainly if you have any other questions feel free to ask. As for the VR question, Yes on the Quest 3 and NO NO NO NO on the Quest 2. I have a video comparing all the entry level headsets here ruclips.net/video/opD35xl5PwA/видео.html and specifically the Quest 3 here ruclips.net/video/jV5otY20y0U/видео.html If you want to step up the VR a little, the new Pimax Crystal Light seems to be the best bang for the buck right now pimax.com/pages/crystal-light. If you choose that direction, I may have a discount code for the Pimax and I'll dig it out if you decide to buy one. Thanks for the question... IMO if you are racing buy the H6!!! it should be about the same price as the P3 but those extra degrees of motion are AMAZING for racing. Most people think the H6 is more for flight but let me tell you, the sway to the side when you side swipe a car or a guardrail really feels like you hit something. The heave for the little bumps on the track just feels real and then you have the surge for gearshifts etc. Jeff weaver and I discuss this here in our impromptu video ruclips.net/video/lsPbbYEy95s/видео.html and if you want to see the H6 in action racing... here you go ruclips.net/video/VxwCUUzOAyA/видео.html. Thanks for your quick response. Well, not so close in prices. I am in Europe, the p3 its 4.400 euros, the h6 is 6.800, both with transport and taxes according to dof web. I was looking at the p versions because this is something expensive I going to buy once in many years and to me spending a 15% more if the product is better build, precise and durable probably makes sense that extra cost. But yes, you are convincing to the h6 with the extra movements.Anyway, I am having a hard time to decide cause as a yaw backer for “only” 2k euros extranI could get the yaw3 .. i play in VR so I don’t know if the extra pitch and the yaw ranges of the yaw could make it a good bet for feeling more acceleration and traction loss and in curve g-forces. What do you think about that? The jarring stop and rudeness of the movements that you comment in your video could be worse for flight but best reactions for racimg? Edit: looking closely to dof reality web it seems that the "taxes" the show at the checkout page doesnt include neither VAT (21%) or customs arancel (2,5% I think), so they are not so competitvie now vs the yaw3 option

If the Yaw 3 is only going to cost you 2k more it might be worth a try, but then again you could get an H3 for about that much and eventually upgrade. It's really a fantastic product. The Yaw2 demo itself absolutely blew me away, though it made it more difficult to wait all this time! I did the roller coaster demo and Xplane 11. My brain was fairly convinced I was flying a real plane, even with the low fps and frame drops that were occurring with the laptop / wireless setup to the Quest 2 headset they were using. I'm "harping" on it because I still get asked on a regular basis what my thoughts are on it by my viewers. Yes I asked about that situation and if you watch the end I mention it but I'm happy to explain it more to you here. Keep in mind, I do NOT work for YAW and I was only able to spend a little time with Zsolt but from talking to him, this is my understanding. Basically the Yaw 2 ended up being an inefficient and costly design that was running into durability problems and almost ran the company out of business trying to fulfill the kickstarter orders. YawVR had to pivot last year not only to stay in business but also redesign the unit to be more cost effective and durable... hence now you have the Yaw 3. I'm fully aware of the kickstarter situation and I can TOTALLY understand how frustrating that must be... but if YawVR went out of business then No Kickstarter would be getting anything. At least this way YawVR has the potential to deliver on what they promised. Is it a "scam"? Well you'll have to define what you mean by scam for me to answer that. My definition of a Scam is an intentional scheme to steal money from victims, so to me no it is not a scam because I can see YawVR is actively trying to do what they say. Are they using questionable business practices... I'll leave that up to people who know more about the situation than I do debate that. Hope that answers your question, I'm sure you aren't the only one that wondered about that so thanks for the question.

    I actually have the Yaw1 Pro or as you put it the salad bowl 🥗 🥣 I picked up from someone locally for $600. It is actually pretty cool. I enjoy using it. But, I agree the new version looks more professional.

      That is a heck of a deal. There is no way my Back would be able to support me in that thing. It sucks getting old!

      @GYGOtv I understand that completely. I am 44 going to turn 45 this october. I definitely feel the difference. I actually added some of those seat cushions for both my bottom and back. It makes a big difference. I enjoy playing in Virtual Reality, wearing my Woojer Vest 3, and sitting in this motion simulator using the Hotas. I just recently purchased that Pimax Crystal Light HMD. It has the best visuals I have ever seen.

      @@WOojerVest3andQuest3onMe Ahhh you are starting down the path and it won't be long until you are in a DOF Reality H6!!! I can see it now! It is an amazing time for us enthusiasts. VR and Motion in my own home, who would have thunk it 20 years ago! Do you like the Woojer over a B Haptic?

      @GYGOtv I haven't tried the bhaptics vest. I just bought the Woojer Vest because it works with everything. Plus, it was on sale. I am a sucker for deals. I actually almost bought one of those DOF rigs. But, I changed my mind. $3k + is way more than I want to invest.

      @@WOojerVest3andQuest3onMe Ya Haptic Vest is on my future acquisition list, I'll have to research what the best would be. I totally understand the hesitation on the DOF Reality Rig, mine was over $5k and I had no idea if I'd like it or not... I can honestly tell you it was one of the best things I've ever purchased and I'm so happy I did it. Keep an eye out, maybe a sale will get you into one someday.
