What is amazing is that even though Davros created the Daleks, is responsible for the deaths of countless life forms, has attempted to commit genocide against everything in every universe at every moment, created an empire that would destroy time and space and obliterate reality, thus murdering every lifeform that ever has and ever will exist in every universe in every reality, the Doctor still tried to save him. I'm not sure how you could think the Doctor is trying to save Davros in this scene. He's quite clearly manipulating Davros into using the Hand Of Omega and blowing up his homeworld
That is a line I have found myself using unfortunately often recently. Here in Australia some SAS soldiers were found to have committed warcrimes against the Taliban. I got in this exact debate more than a few times with people. "They would do it, have done it to us." "Yes, but aren't we better than them? Aren't we the 'good guys'?"

In my mind, it actually sounds like a child's temper tantrum if you listen to how he says things like "Daleks will sweep away Gallifrey!" So to be honest, the Fifth Doctor was kinda right when he called Davros a child and judging by how much of Davros' childhood wasn't that much of a childhood at all, that assessment just makes even more sense.
+nauseouspenguin That was the eighth doctor. Davros's ship flew into the mouth of the nightmare child in the first year of the war, while the doctor was still Paul McGann.
Yes it was a great story. Very much so. Ace was cool then , she helped me ignore that Scottish accent of Sylvester Mccoy. And admiral ozzlel of star wars in there.
I always loved Terry Malloy as Davros. He's always one word away from devolving into a shouting, rage-fuelled, power-tripping dictator who will never get off the Dalek's high horse - but he's also fantastic during quiet and contemplative discussions, particularly in Big Finish.
I can't help but feel a little sad. Being born in 1993, for the first ten eleven or twelve years of my life, me and a couple of friends loved Doctor Who and no other kids knew about it. I'm glad that the 2005 revival turned the show into a huge, worldwide brand, but I can't help missing those days when you'd be gobsmacked if another kid knew and liked Doctor Who...
+Ben Bastiani I understand your feeling and in a way almost, know.... As a Lego kid from the 90s and 2000s (I was born in 94), I am sad of what Lego is now thanks to 2014, since now everything Lego is labeled "everything is awesome" >:( ... of course, there is still most of the lines and characters from that era such as Lego Island, Johnny Thunder, Knights Kingdom, Jack Stone, ect. I always feel happy when coming across someone or a piece on DeviantART (and other sites) that show remembrance to them. Although the themes deserve to have another chance at spotlight, I wonder if they are special being underrated (the same goes for films such as Treasure Planet).
It was good it was revived but it came with a lot of consequences, one being now Disney have their hands on it which means many fans can't watch it any more, I wish it had stayed small really, everything is always ruined once yanks get involved.
I'm curious - I never got to see that episode in full. Is 7th's mocking moment referenced in TMApprentice, or do people just decide to come here for more Doctor v Davros goodness?
The Doctor is so dark here that he actually begs Davros not to use the Hand...actually giving him good advice while being completely aware of the consequences...7 was an heartless schemer! 😀
@OpenMawProductions It did escalate the war into a death war that davros was willing to sacrifice his race for. Before this there was a chance for a peace settlement. After this it was guaranteed to be the end of both sides.
@Geoff Pulham Genesis of the daleks. I know its an obvious choice but it does have the 4th doctor, Sarah jane smith and harry sullivan in it. It introduced davros as well
To be honest, I never liked the seventh Doctor, but watched to the bitter end because Ace was such a great character. I remember thinking that it wasn't just me who thought that when the famous/infamous moment happened when a BBC continuity announcer said "...and now, Dr Who starring Sophie Aldred and Sylvester McCoy."
To be honest I love his laugh here - it gives the impression that he just doesn't do it enough (or at all), hence it's so off when he finally laughs on those super rare occasions. Normally he's screaming or whispering in his little space-chair.
Love Sylvester McCoy doctor's , he's was badass , brilliant , heroic , charismatic , sweet, gorgeous and damn sexy ! , one the most underrated doctors of classic who .
I believe this is Pamela Salem's third involvement in Doctor Who. Before "Remembrance of the Daleks", she provided a voice over role in "The Face of Evil" and then appeared in the subsequent story "The Robots of Death".
I mean, same would therefore go for the 2005-9 era if you're doing that take, I see no reason to differentiate, the first 10 series of New Who were consistent in quality until Chibnal blundered it into oblivion. Either way I think you're exaggerating but still.
Davros: WE WILL BECOME ALL- Doctor: Powerful! Crush the lesser races! Conquer the galaxy! Unimaginable power! Unlimited rice pudding! Et Cetera! Et Cetera LOL I love that part :P
McCoy arrived as the Doctor in this episode. He grew on me over the years and I really rate him now. Shame he didn't have a few more years on TV as the Doctor.
Oh yes, the whole reason why the Daleks want to conquer the Milky Way. Unlimited rice pudding. They found out that Earth is full of rice pudding so they want Earth in order to have it.
Doc: "Every time our paths have crossed I have defeated you." Dav: "HAHAHAHAHAHEEEEE. You FLATTER yourself, Doctor. In the end you are merely another TIME LORD!" Doc: "Oh, Davros. I am FAR more than JUST another Time Lord." I'll never, ever understand why they cut that out of the televised version.
If I remember right, Andrew Cartmel, who was the showrunner at the time, had the idea that The Doctor was actually one of the founding members of the time lord society alongside Omega and Rassilon, basically making him a pseudo God like figure. The idea was (righty imo) shot down by executives during this season so all references to that plot line were cut. However, Silvwr Nemesis managed to integrate that into its plot, with its not so subtle nods to the Doctor literally being god
They felt it was too overt. Andrew Cartmel heavily redid the last episode of Survival as well for the same reason. In the original script, the Master rattled off a lot of the Doctor's origin story.
djayscratcher in which the Timelords sent the Doctor to stop their creation. Thus by chronological order, the Timewar started there but from the doctors view was it when he visited Skaro with susan.
I love this story but if there's one element of it I don't think gets brought up enough it's the fact that the first doctor STOLE the Hand of Omega from the timelords along with his TARDIS and was never tried for it. THAT is why he is so paranoid in an unearthly child.
Michael Wisher defined the part and set the standard for those who followed. Terry Molloy was good but chewed the scenery rather more, especially in this scene actually.
When I first saw Julian Bleach I backed across the couch... just like all those kids must have done in 1964 the first time they saw a Dalek. Terrifyingly good tribute to the late Mr. Wisher. Don't forget David Gooderson did the best he could in Michael Wisher's mask (literally!).
Matt Maloney Oh I don't know! I quite liked the way he delivered the lines "I think I am quite capable of handling the tek-nolo-jehhh" and the way he breathlessly says "aaaaand … with that power at my disposal". He then, deliberately but for good reason, falls into an Adolf Hitler canter. I think that's good. And of course there's "NOW YOU BEGIN TO FEARRRRR" :-)
whophd It's called "camping it up". But then he is playing against Sylvester McCoy, who is often regarded as the most camp and least popular Doctor ever, so perhaps we shouldn't blame Molloy when camp had become the order of the day.
McCoy was campy his 1st season. He became much more dangerous in seasons 2 and 3. Unfortunately for both it was a time where the BBC was basically looking to run the show off the air. Just my opinion, but I always thought Colin Baker was the least popular of the Doctors of the original series.
When Davros returned in Series 4, I was disappointed that Terry Molloy didn't reprise the role. I hoped he would because he played the role more times than the other three actors did. He'll be returning in Series 8 and it'll definitely be Julian Bleach reprising the role a second time.
TheBobBrom Well, South Park is a comedy cartoon, they dont need logic. Comics have so many continuities, they really don't always end up consistent. Tennant would probably have tried to save Davros, but you hear am explosion and hear him scream, as a slightly shaken Tennant looks on. I still cannot believe you compared Doctor Who to South Park.
I'm guessing that it was something that happened during the Time War that caused Davris to revert from this back to his original appearance for The Stolen Earth/Journeys End.
It really feels like we are missing a piece in the puzzle when it comes to what happend to the daleks after this episode but before the time war. I don't know if it was said in one of the new who episodes but we never really got to find out who won the dalek civil war and why the daleks after the time war seemed to be working together it is implied that the renegade faction won after davros was apparantly killed in the time war and when he was saved by dalek Caan he was taken prisoner immediately and treated like there pet but in the first series 9 two parter he seems to be reinstated as the leader with even the supreme dalek the leader of the renegade faction being obedient to him.
Both sets of Daleks were wiped out in Remembrance by The Doctor and themselves. Davros survives Remembrance by means of an escape pod. Thus, he can start from scratch, avoiding the issue altogether.
Fairly sure here's what happened: The Dalek Civil War ended here with the destruction of Skaro's sun. The Doctor tells the Renegade Supreme Dalek that he is useless, and the Dalek self destructs, being the last of the Renegade Daleks present on Earth. From there, while the timeline is confusing, it is clear. We know that the Renegade Daleks are superior to the Inferior ones (the Battle at Foreman's Yard, where they won despite being outnumbered prior to the advent of the Special Weapons Dalek) and we know that the Imperial Daleks occupied Skaro, having taken it earlier. At this time, the Renegade Faction, which earlier could be said to be winning the Dalek Civil War, are losing. They don't own Skaro and their numbers are fewer, but they still presumably control most of the remaining Dalek worlds. Then, in the events of Remembrance, the Daleks have a battle on Earth, with Davros investing all his resources into the matter - the entire force of Imperial Daleks, save those occupying Skaro. The Renegade Daleks, while they commit much, don't commit all their forces. Then Davros destroys Skaro (which is later... uh... reconstructed... or something... or apparently... it wasn't Skaro at all... and that was... a lie... I don't know...) and in the end, Davros is presumed dead by the Daleks, and while the Dalek Supreme on Earth was destroyed, the Dalek Prime - the true leader of the Renegades - survives. Here it gets wonky. The Imperial faction, without Davros, is defeated. They are subsequently dubbed the 'renegades' by the former Renegades - now the new Imperial Faction - who are victorious. The remnants of the old Imperial Daleks are rounded up and destroyed or reintegrated while the remaining Daleks consolidate, the Dalek Prime (who was actually one of the original Daleks who 'killed' Davros in Genesis, according to material) would be transformed into the Dalek Emperor and begin the reconstruction of the Dalek Empire. While the Daleks were damaged by the loss of Skaro, they had other worlds made for Dalek creation, research, and manufacture, so they would not be lost. During this reconstruction, the Daleks discovered Davros, who sued for peace and surrendered. The re-integrated Imperial Daleks who served Davros presumably vouched for him, saying that his brain was essential for the Daleks, and Davros, while he did not command the Daleks, was very important. The Dalek Emperor would watch him, however, and it may well have been under his order that Davros's ship flew into the jaws of the Nightmare Child. It was most likely Davros's ambitions for the successful victory of his species that lead them to begin the Time War. While they would later say that the events of Genesis were the beginning, the true beginning of the Time War is a little foggy (for a war fought all across time), and it can be instead said that Genesis was more like the Versailles of the Daleks - they were initially weakened, but they later came back for revenge. Thus connects the history between the Dalek Civil War and the Time War.
This is one of my favorite adventures! It honestly scared me when I was little, when the Dalek battle computer cut contact with the poor little girl. I was always glad Ace was there to comfort her after the horror she went through. PS I always wanted to punch Mike!
...thanks so much for that...I closed my eyes during that and for a moment while hearing Sylvester recite Doctor lines, I felt 16 again...he did a great job...
It’s a great observation; I’m not sure it’s the biggest missed opportunity connected with that era/arc though. I really like the Timeless child’s basic idea of giving the Doctor a role in the founding of Timelord society… I’m just really disappointed that role turns out to be ‘provided some genes’: some invention or any kind of agency in that early history would have been better. Sylvester’s seasons are packed with hints that the doctor is “far more than just another Timelord” and of possible connections to the Hand of Omega (which is what opens time travel to the Galifreyans in the first place) that go at least as far back as their first incarnation. I know it’s a bit obscure for much of the recent audience, but I feel like building upon that was the biggest missed opportunity of the era. The missing memories component of the timeless child arc works well - we know that the Timelords have a thing for messing with them (poor Zoe and Jamie). It would be nice if the doctor were not remembering something that felt more consequential than being a foundling though.
I can’t find the clip from immediately after this, but it’s one of my favourite moments in the series. Like, we’ve had a whole season of this Doctor being a bumbling clown, and even here he’s hamming it up a bit, but when Davros realises he’s beaten the Doctor is suddenly ice cold, and it really hammers home what a calculating chess master this Doctor really is. “You tricked me!” “No Davros. You tricked yourself.”
Davros appeared in episodes involving doctors 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, and 12. 4: Genesis of the daleks 5: Ressurrection of the daleks 6: Revelation of the daleks 7: Remembrance of the daleks 10: Doomsday 12: The magician's apprentice/The witch's familiar
Considering Terry Molloy’s appearance is really an extended cameo, he literally waves a torch across a piece of Perspex, his costume is a mask, a bin liner and some wires obviously with a Dalek base and bespoke top. However he is completely compelling in his delivery and although Michael Wisher is considered the first and best I have to say I’m in the Molloy fan club. As from Revelation we have a scheming sinister and dangerous genius. Revelation is a great story with a convenient resolution. Revelation and Remembrance are Davros at his best. The body language between Colin and Terry is spot on when they finally meet and when 6 denies being the Doctor the pent up fury and frustration Terry portrays is utterly real. We also have the fabulous moment when 6 goes to shake Davros’ missing hand 😂. In Remembrance Davros actually looks like he’s not only won but is also holding all the trump cards, he has Daleks totally obedient to him, the Earth and the Doctor have no defences whatsoever and Davros has weapons on the Mothership “capable of cracking open this planet like an egg.” It’s the fact that the Doctor always wins that turns the tables, rather than just opening fire with the Mothership weapons he decides instead to try to humiliate the Doctor and use his shiny new untested toy thus snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

HuntingTarg It's more fun
What is amazing is that even though Davros created the Daleks, is responsible for the deaths of countless life forms, has attempted to commit genocide against everything in every universe at every moment, created an empire that would destroy time and space and obliterate reality, thus murdering every lifeform that ever has and ever will exist in every universe in every reality, the Doctor still tried to save him. As the Matt Smith Doctor said to Captain Picard in the comic book series Assimilation Squared: "We help our enemies because it is proof that we are better than they are". God bless you Doctor. Here is to another fifty wonderful years.
I'm not sure how you could think the Doctor is trying to save Davros in this scene. He's quite clearly manipulating Davros into using the Hand Of Omega and blowing up his homeworld
@@Super_Mario128
I don't think it's obvious, nor would I argue that American sci-fi is better than British or vice versa. It doesn't matter to me.
We help our enemies so we can still call it a kids show lol
That is a line I have found myself using unfortunately often recently. Here in Australia some SAS soldiers were found to have committed warcrimes against the Taliban. I got in this exact debate more than a few times with people.
"They would do it, have done it to us."
"Yes, but aren't we better than them? Aren't we the 'good guys'?"
unlimited rice pudding: the true ultimate goal of the Daleks
How each Doctor would handle this scene
Davros: We will become all powerful
One: All powerful. You stupid old fool, you dare threaten me sir. I tell you, you shall regret this sir. Now listen to me and put that ridiculous toy down
Two: Oh no. No you can't do this. Such power should never be wielded by the likes of you. Now put it down before you do something you'll regret.
Three: Now you listen to me. You are meddling in powers beyond your control.
Four: Powerful, But what need have you for such power Davros. So much responsibility. Why not just sit back watch the stars and have a jelly baby. They're ever so good you know
Five: Davros, I beg of you. Be reasonable. The hand is a powerful weapon. If you use it you don't know what it will do. Please. You must listen to me.
Six: You, dried out chair bound raisin. That is time lord technology you hold there. It is far too advanced to be used by such a simple decadent race like the Daleks. Put that thing down before you hurt yourself
Seven: Powerful Crush the lesser races Conquer the Galaxy Unimaginable power! Unlimited rice pudding! Et Cetera! Et Cetera
Eight: Oh, but you don't see the danger of such power. That kind of power corrupts whatever it touches. If you try to wield such power it will destroy you
War: Oh, for gods sake. Your arrogance is tiring. Get on with it you decrepid fool. I do wish you would stop wasting my time with all this talk.
Nine: Let's see how much power the Daleks wield. because if you use that thing I will climb aboard that ship and tear every last stinking Dalek apart with my bare hands
Ten: You just don't get it. Power is nothing. You have nothing, Davros and I'm sorry. I really am very sorry. But remember. You did this
Eleven: Ah ha. There's power in that hand but nowhere near that much. And you know what. I think you've forgotten who your dealing with I think you've forgotten who brought the hand to Earth in the first place. Or to put it another way Davros. The sun will set on Skaro for the last time
Twelve: Just shut up. Shut up you wrinkly old waste of space. You should take your hand of Omega and throw it into space because if just one person dies on your watch today I will hunt you down I will peel your disgusting person out of that bloody chair and throw you and all your pepper pot pals into a supernova where you can spend your last moments contemplating how weak and insignificant your pointless existence has been.
👏Well done. Very well done. 👏

2:37 I love how his speech becomes less human and more Dalek like as his speech crescendos into a manic declaration of dalek power
In my mind, it actually sounds like a child's temper tantrum if you listen to how he says things like "Daleks will sweep away Gallifrey!"
So to be honest, the Fifth Doctor was kinda right when he called Davros a child and judging by how much of Davros' childhood wasn't that much of a childhood at all, that assessment just makes even more sense.
That outburst clearly explains why the Seventh Doctor is one of my favorites.
and the most manipulative version of him
Michael Diaz I also love the Seventh Doctor! He was different but also had this charasmatic charm that I liked a lot!
Doctor: Every time our paths have crossed I have defeated you.
Davros: *Laughs*
Laugh all you want Davros, he isn't wrong 😂
R.I.P. Davros, get's roasted by the Doctor every time!
Imagine the 12th doctor's take on this scene! He'd might say something like "Oh shut up! You impotent Man chair!"
the tenth doctor would try to save davros
Silver sun14379 LOL
+zinki120 The 12th would try to kill Davros
+nauseouspenguin
That was the eighth doctor. Davros's ship flew into the mouth of the nightmare child in the first year of the war, while the doctor was still Paul McGann.
He'd have his chair.
LOL I love Davros' laugh at 1:20
Remembrance of the Daleks in my opinion was a Doctor Who masterpiece.
My favourite story
No, it was childish shit. Dumb generic plot. Still his best story though
Yes it was a great story. Very much so. Ace was cool then , she helped me ignore that Scottish accent of Sylvester Mccoy. And admiral ozzlel of star wars in there.
God, the way he says pudding gets me every time.
POODINHG!
@@dereklouden7415Et cetera! Et cetera!
McCoy will always be my favourite Doctor. I feel he was so underrated. Legend!
bet your about 38 to 42
He's the only Doctor I met in person!
And that's how the Time War started...The threat of unlimited rice pudding!
I always loved Terry Malloy as Davros. He's always one word away from devolving into a shouting, rage-fuelled, power-tripping dictator who will never get off the Dalek's high horse - but he's also fantastic during quiet and contemplative discussions, particularly in Big Finish.
I wish I could have unlimited rice pudding.
Matt 'Khandricar' Claypole ECT ECT ECT

Damn, it couldn't of been tapioca pudding? The cruelty of davros knows no mercy! Wait no, mercy he does know.
that's what i was thinking.
It's EXTREMELY rare to find a Whovian here in asia.
It was good it was revived but it came with a lot of consequences, one being now Disney have their hands on it which means many fans can't watch it any more, I wish it had stayed small really, everything is always ruined once yanks get involved.
After just seeing The Magician's Apprentice I got to hear 7 mock Davros once more ;w;
That is why I'm here too :)
I'm curious - I never got to see that episode in full. Is 7th's mocking moment referenced in TMApprentice, or do people just decide to come here for more Doctor v Davros goodness?
Both
The Doctor is so dark here that he actually begs Davros not to use the Hand...actually giving him good advice while being completely aware of the consequences...7 was an heartless schemer! 😀
Like him in big finish
No not mocking, The Doctor is goading Davros into using the Hand Of Omega, many think this is part of the time war.
The reveal of Davros was so good at the time. Also - the Daleks Civil War. Both things that made this story so good.
I want unlimited rice pudding!

Welp, this is probably how the last great time war began.
Great diplomacy, Doc.
Oh it started long before this. Like diplomacy would work with Davros. He's not interested in diplomacy.
@OpenMawProductions It did escalate the war into a death war that davros was willing to sacrifice his race for.
Before this there was a chance for a peace settlement.
After this it was guaranteed to be the end of both sides.
Love how the first Doctor Davros met is the 12th but it was the 4th Doctor who met Davros first.
Tom Baker "The Genesis of the Daleks" one of my favorite classic adventures!
Everyone's going on about the unlimited rice pudding bit, but I can't get over the pure condescension in the delivery of "I sincerely doubt that."
Davros really needs to stay away from the sun bed.
Remembrance of the Daleks has matured into a classic.
It’s always been a classic.
@JwwProd i agree. Probably my 2nd favourite dr who story
@@brendansheerin8980 What's your favourite? I'd probably have to go for The Seeds of Doom. Followed by Dalek.
@Geoff Pulham Genesis of the daleks. I know its an obvious choice but it does have the 4th doctor, Sarah jane smith and harry sullivan in it. It introduced davros as well

It's official... Davros became a parody of himself
God I forgot how manipulative 7 was. Fantastic performance from McCoy and Molloy.
I love when the Doctor and Davros talk its like two massive intellects facing off against each other
This is Doctor Who going into humour and mockery without becoming like how whimsical the Matt Smith era was.
Ace was just ace wasn't she, one of the best companions ever
She was also the one to kick a dark butt
To be honest, I never liked the seventh Doctor, but watched to the bitter end because Ace was such a great character. I remember thinking that it wasn't just me who thought that when the famous/infamous moment happened when a BBC continuity announcer said "...and now, Dr Who starring Sophie Aldred and Sylvester McCoy."
"AH-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAYEEEEE"
Good lord, it's a good thing Davros improved his laugh when he returned in Series 4 onwards.
+DCMarvel2009 Yeah, he spent all those years practicing.
I died laughing once I read this comment, Darth!
To be honest I love his laugh here - it gives the impression that he just doesn't do it enough (or at all), hence it's so off when he finally laughs on those super rare occasions. Normally he's screaming or whispering in his little space-chair.
Its the HEE at the end that always gets me. The rest of the laugh was fine. At the end he sounds like the Pillsbury Doughboy!
His laugh in Revelation of the Daleks is even funnier
Love Sylvester McCoy doctor's , he's was badass , brilliant , heroic , charismatic , sweet, gorgeous and damn sexy ! , one the most underrated doctors of classic who .
That speech is one of Davros’ finest. Molloys delivery is fantastic.
I believe this is Pamela Salem's third involvement in Doctor Who. Before "Remembrance of the Daleks", she provided a voice over role in "The Face of Evil" and then appeared in the subsequent story "The Robots of Death".
loved her as Belar in Into the Labyrith
love the way 7 is being sarcastic about being scared, davros (obviously) falls for it :D 7 is a great actor and a great doctor!
Remembrance is one of the best Doctor Who stories of all time. Better than almost anything from the 2010’s to present era.
I mean, same would therefore go for the 2005-9 era if you're doing that take, I see no reason to differentiate, the first 10 series of New Who were consistent in quality until Chibnal blundered it into oblivion. Either way I think you're exaggerating but still.
Davros: WE WILL BECOME ALL-

LOL I love that part :P
McCoy arrived as the Doctor in this episode. He grew on me over the years and I really rate him now. Shame he didn't have a few more years on TV as the Doctor.
Oh yes, the whole reason why the Daleks want to conquer the Milky Way. Unlimited rice pudding. They found out that Earth is full of rice pudding so they want Earth in order to have it.
I will always love the 7th doctor era of the show, and this dalek story is a great reason why.
2:49 UNLIMITED RICE PUDDING
Doc: "Every time our paths have crossed I have defeated you."
Dav: "HAHAHAHAHAHEEEEE. You FLATTER yourself, Doctor. In the end you are merely another TIME LORD!"
Doc: "Oh, Davros. I am FAR more than JUST another Time Lord."
I'll never, ever understand why they cut that out of the televised version.
RopeDrink they said because religious and can confuse that the doctor is a god
Prescott Señor Del Tiempo uh... what?
If I remember right, Andrew Cartmel, who was the showrunner at the time, had the idea that The Doctor was actually one of the founding members of the time lord society alongside Omega and Rassilon, basically making him a pseudo God like figure. The idea was (righty imo) shot down by executives during this season so all references to that plot line were cut. However, Silvwr Nemesis managed to integrate that into its plot, with its not so subtle nods to the Doctor literally being god
Unlimited Rice Pudding I need you
They felt it was too overt. Andrew Cartmel heavily redid the last episode of Survival as well for the same reason. In the original script, the Master rattled off a lot of the Doctor's origin story.
Ladies and gentlemen, the beginning of the Time War?
Nope that was Genesis of the Daleks.
djayscratcher in which the Timelords sent the Doctor to stop their creation.
Thus by chronological order, the Timewar started there but from the doctors view was it when he visited Skaro with susan.
no, the time war started with genesis of the daleks, its in the chronology.
It was supposed to be a joke!!
Mind. Blown. :D
I love this story but if there's one element of it I don't think gets brought up enough it's the fact that the first doctor STOLE the Hand of Omega from the timelords along with his TARDIS and was never tried for it. THAT is why he is so paranoid in an unearthly child.
Davros has more wires leading in and out of his body than a 1980s VCR.
I can't decide whether Molloy, Michael Wisher or Julian Bleach is the best Davros.
Just wait until the Twelfth incarnation knocks Davros out of his chair.
"That's cold, even by my standards!" - *Seven*
"Save your insults for the weak minded, Doctor."
"I thought I already was" would have been such an amazing comeback, lol.
Unlimited rice pudding. Hahahahahahahahahaha! Ridicules.
1:21 That fucking laugh. No matter how many times I rewatch it that "HEE" at the end just sends me every time.
Davros would be less grumpy if he ever visited a dentist. That black rot of the mouth really must be painful.
When Davros returned in Series 4, I was disappointed that Terry Molloy didn't reprise the role. I hoped he would because he played the role more times than the other three actors did.
He'll be returning in Series 8 and it'll definitely be Julian Bleach reprising the role a second time.
No, he didn't return.
Maybe they were trying to pull the wool over our eyes, but nah. Davros died on board the Crucible, right in front of the Doctor.
Try doing SOME research Matt
Scott Gerrard ...OK.
Care to elaborate? Please?
Davros has 'died' several times before
Thank u sylestor mccoy and Terry Molly and Sophie Alfred , u did a wonderful performance.
My favorite Doctor. And certainly the most clever one, as well as the most sadistic.
I'm guessing that it was something that happened during the Time War that caused Davris to revert from this back to his original appearance for The Stolen Earth/Journeys End.
Love this scene. One of Seven's finest.
One problem. HIOW WOULD A DALEK EAT RICE PUDDING.??

1:06: "Ducktor!" XD
Don't pick a fight of ham with the Doctor. You're gonna lose hard.
the start of the last great time war
Technically that was "Genesis of the Daleks."
Fairly sure here's what happened:
The Dalek Civil War ended here with the destruction of Skaro's sun.
He mostly pays the price for this in the story 'Terror Firma.'
This is one of my favorite adventures! It honestly scared me when I was little, when the Dalek battle computer cut contact with the poor little girl. I was always glad Ace was there to comfort her after the horror she went through.

The little 'hee' at the end always makes me giggle.
I'm always fascinated to Sylvester McCoy's accent, it's rich and wonderful.
One of the first episodes I ever saw and it's an awesome moment!
something i didnt know, they actually kept davros in the shadows throughout this entire story saving him for the final act
...thanks so much for that...I closed my eyes during that and for a moment while hearing Sylvester recite Doctor lines, I felt 16 again...he did a great job...
That dalek suit/shell is so cool
I can’t find the clip from immediately after this, but it’s one of my favourite moments in the series. Like, we’ve had a whole season of this Doctor being a bumbling clown, and even here he’s hamming it up a bit, but when Davros realises he’s beaten the Doctor is suddenly ice cold, and it really hammers home what a calculating chess master this Doctor really is.
“You tricked me!”
“No Davros. You tricked yourself.”

+Tlaloc1 oh, right. both dalek episodes, close 'nuff
Peter Senior lol
davros was in the fourth doctor story "destiny of the daleks"
Ace, Dave Lister called, he wants his coat back.
I love how (although nobody knew it) this scene paves the way for the Time War.
