Ah Patrick Troughton, one of the most underrated Doctors and my Personal Favourite of the Classic era. I'm so glad he is starting to get the love he deserves
Easily the creepiest & darkest Regeneration. The Doctor being forced to change, screaming no, in an empty void with no face will always be haunting image. No emotional speech, no honourable last line, not even aloud to finish what he was saying. It was just full on *execution* of The 2nd Doctor… You won’t see a Regeneration like that again in the series, ever…
It truly stands out as a unique sequence, especially with the majestic power of the Time Lords that exert their dogmatic, yet pretentious, powers over the Doctor; though this is probably the comeuppance expected since The Doctor abandoned his people and violated their “laws.” Nevertheless, a cruel and depersonalized experience that strips his being and forcing him to exile.
Jamie McCrimmon, the best male companion the Doctor ever had, IMO. The chemistry between Patrick Troughton and Frazer Hines was wonderful. I even wish to see him in a new episode now that he has his memories back
@@IsiahBradley Agreed. Other than that, The Two Doctors didn’t appeal to me that much. But for Patrick’s final return as the 2nd Doctor before his passing, it still has some good memories.

The War Chief is definitely The Master. Or have Dr Who nerds already arguing about that since the appearance of Roger Delgado as The Master.
Yer fella there was in rentaghost...wasn't he
Oh yeah!!!! I never realised that before, but you're right. Oh mate, I hated Rentaghost so much.
The second doctor was phenomenal
Indeed, fwiw among my favorites. In other sources, I've read there was a very real danger that the show was going to be cancelled after Hartnell's exit. Patrick's performance persuaded the suits to give it another chance and well ...
The Mind Robber, and now an extended scene from The War Games... perhaps next we can get the Blu-ray announcement for Season 6?😁
It was already announced this week that the next Blu Ray will be Season 7.
@@Allancarlostani Funny that they didn't announce that on here, of all places.
@@hawkeye7246 I wouldn’t be surprised if they showed the trailer directly after in the televised series it is the next season which has also had special treatment.
Does anyone remember that strange issue where some episodes that were missing appeared as listings on Apple, such as the Space Pirates. Although unlikely I really do hope that there were some findings and that they are just holding out releasing that box set for certain reasons...
@anthonytaaffe1942 I would think that if Space Pirates had been found, that would be a pretty big announcement that we would've heard something about. The only possible reason I've heard regarding a delay for Season 6 is the lack of material for a Space Pirates reconstruction.
I always knew Steve Jobs was evil... but didn't think he was a warlord!
I want to know who was the person deciding to change the scene of him choosing his appearance to the new Doctors. This is somehow worse than Rogue where thier faces didn't even look like them
The faces in _Rogue_ were literal clips of their episodes.
@DrWhoFanJ actually no, they don't look like themselves, the best explanation I've seen is that they are aged up to match the supposed bi-generation of every doctor, but this still doesn't make much sense
@@L0g0Z0g0 Because it also isn’t true. You’re simply not realising the clips are sometimes from return appearances long after their original tenures.
@@DrWhoFanJ how many return appearances did we get? Take Jodie there for example, just zoom in at her, it didn't look like her at all. I legit when first watched it took a couple extra seconds to understand who they were. Well it was at 2am when in came out, but I knew what I was about to see and then still started at the faces not realising who they are. I'm not going to argue with throwing in the shalka doctor in there, because it isn't as bad as everything else added, like the dog for half the show on the box.
@ A few. The Jodie one wasn’t, though; that was from her era.
It was fine as it was it didn't need to be colourised or re-edited if the younger generation don't have the capacity or patience to handle black and white of 10 episodes or slow pacing which i think works for story structure tough luck don't watch it then watch your soapy NuWho and leave our classics alone and let the real classic fans enjoy it for what they are.
Only way to win is not to play
is the minister of war about to come?
Incorrect or incomplete description for this story. F-
Hey doctor who it's Tuesday today yesterday we were gonna get the coloured version WHERE IS IT
It came on BBC4 last night and is now on iPlayer.
On BBC iPlayer.
(And the word is colourised.)
@@DrWhoFanJ I KNOW I'M TALKING ABOUT THE COLOURED VERSION OF THE EPISODES THE WAR GAMES
@ colourised*
Is the War Chief...The Master?
No.
Shall we play a game? :)
Sooooo gooooddddd!!!
i am soooooooooo excited!!!!
The thing I love about this is that despite getting the Color versions of these stories, we can still enjoy the originals and have the option to choose. ❤ I hope some new fans watch this story no matter what version
colour*
@ don’t be that guy 😂 it can be spelled both ways friend
@@GibbySoapBox I am no kind of "that guy". No, it can’t. A common noun is only capitalised when it appears either at the start of a sentence or as part of a title. "Colour" occupies neither position in your sentence.
@ omg 😂 it’s not that serious
@ Says the person who refuses to accept the simple facts.
So they gave him the skinny guy afterall.
I still think this is one of the few times that The Doctor was truly scared
‘Auntie’ still going back thru the archives to find what made DW magic for so many? 😊
My oh my...what treat to hear perfect diction and to actually understand the script...and to see it...without it looking as if it was filmed in the gloom.
Yeah I love the enunciation and diction of those old actors, especially Kevin Stoney in The Daleks' Master Plan. Everyone mumbles and whispers these days, it gets really annoying
Is that the master
The new colour version sort of implied he is by playing the John Simm Master theme.
No it's not.
🖤🤍🩶🖤🩶🤍🖤
Even if Jamie & Zoe wanted to testify on behalf of the Doctor at his trial for interfering in the affairs of the Universe, the Time Lords wouldn't allow them to do so, nor let them hear what the Doctor's punishment will be.
The undeclared Master was channelling Ming The Merciless from the 1936 Flash Gordon Era and another comedic version of Doctor Chaotica was portrayed in Star Trek Voyager Chaos of Chaotica!
The main villainous leader War Chief was ahead of his time and could have lectured his minions Steve Jobs style.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
One of the most disturbing endings in Doctor Who history as the Doctor headless body spins away into the ether as the theme music and credit titles play on. I wonder what those who saw it go out would have thought about it.
GOLDEN ARMOR ENERGIZE
The proper version.
There is no improper version.
@@DrWhoFanJWell this is certainly not vandalizing compared to that god awful War Games in colour which I got no desire to watch except for the ones who support RTD's fanfic nonsense.
@ Stop talking utter gibberish and misspelling simple words.
Oh, well that's alright then !
Where's the coloured version of the war games
Tomorrow
The colourised* version is being broadcast tomorrow.
Interesting
Makes me sick to my stomach that Russell Toyboy Davies is going to vandalise and ruin this.
What are you wittering about? Can’t even tell what you people are raging about these days, apparently RTD is going to ruin an episode from 1967? Mental
@@f4rr3ra story* from 1969*, but very much yes.
I know there's been fans speculation and discussion over the years, but did the BBC ever address whether or nor the War Master was a previous incarnation of the Master?
The War Master is Derek Jacobi's incarnation of the Master.
Some fans and parts of the Expanded Universe say that that the War Chief is a face of the Master*. Though other bits of the expanded universe say that The Master and The War Chief are separate people though were briefly in the same friend group at the academy, The Deca.
*usually saying that he is the 11th Master; with Roger Delgado being the 12th; Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers, Anthony Ainley, Gordon Tipple and Eric Roberts all being the 13th Master; Jacobi being 16th Master, John Simm being 18th Master, Missy being the 19th body; Sacha Dhawan being the 21st Master.
I hope they don't screw The War Games as badly as they did with The Daleks last year...
They didn’t do so to either.
