Mr TARDIS , you are a liar . The first dalek story is the 1963 - 64 version . I have divided the original doctor who series into 3 parts . The Golden Age starring William Hartnell and Patrick Thoughton . The Silver Age starring Jon Pertee and Tom Baker . Wish we see not only that but the Thals as well, it’s quite sad that the only television appearance they last had was all the way back in Genesis. They don’t even get brought up in the revival.
Yep. It mirrors real-life nazis, as well. Nazis require there to be a target-some group of people that they can oppress to convince themselves they're superior. Whether it's jews or queers or communists or what-have-you, they need a target. Their ideology cannot survive without a victim. This naturally means that a nazi "victory" (god forbid) would be quickly followed by infighting over who is "the most pure". If the Axis had won WWII (they couldn't have, I consider it completely impossible, but if they had), I can absolutely guarantee that Germany and Italy would turn on Japan for not being white enough, then Germany would turn on Italy for not being German enough, then Germany would tear itself into a thousand pieces because their hatred would have no other outlet.
Actually Davros designed his own mobile life support system. The superb Target novelisation of Remembranc eof the Daleks gives a great backstory to Davros. After his laboratory was struck by a Thal atomic shell, the Kaleds debated whether to keep him alive; it was only due to his brilliance they decided to spend the large amount of resources to do so. When Davros first saw what he had become he screamed in horror, so they anaesthetised him. Later they left him in a room with a mirror and a switch that controlled a lethal poison. Davros accepted his new self, and was filled with a terrible determination. At that point he assumed leadershipp of the Scientific Elite saying he would give theKaleds victory.

I both agree and disagree. I want more colorful Daleks, but something more in line with what we saw with Capaldi. Gray & blue Daleks with stubby lights, gold & brown Daleks with cone lights. Yellow & red Daleks with bracings. Stuff like that works so well.

I wish that Oswin's dalek had survived and gone on to be the "good" dalek, rather than the one from "Into The Dalek". That would have been a fabulous way to complete her story.
With the amount of Human-Dalek hybrids, I think there should be another attempt from the other side. Humans using Daleks to achieve immortality. Seems a human thing to do.
You might want to add the detail that 14th Doctor (David Tennant) was the one who gave the plunger arm after he accidentally crashed into a prototype mark 3 traveling machine Dalek in the Genesis

Time Lords: Among the most advanced civilizations in science fiction, masters of time and space, capable of containing stars in machines and manipulating dimensions and travelling to parallel universes. Possibly capable of manipulation of the entire Universe, potentially even beyond that. Gods in all but name. Their military: The Imperial Guard from 40k but without the numbers or ferocity
I read somewhere, exactly once, and I can't remember where, but the implication was that, at some point, the Daleks are the target for mind transference with the Yithians from the Lovecraft story "A Shadow out of Time" (and many others). The most obvious justification for this is the obvious resemblance between the Dalek "suits" and the physical appearance of Yithians, a central conical mass with every interactive "organ" being placed on the end of a stalk which extends from this central mass. Given how they were humanoid originally, it makes sense that the Yithians switched minds with them and it was the Yithians minds who influenced the design of the armoured suits. One reason this is a particularly good theory is because the Yithians spend centuries studying any species they decide to switch minds with before actually doing it, so that they can do this without any other beings noticing that it has happened. So they work very hard to maintain the ruse that they don't exist, having been wiped out some 850 million years before the present day, the truth is that they put the minds of an entire species into their bodies just before they were wiped out, and they do this same process every time their "hosts" are on the verge of extinction. Therefore they maintain their technology, and use it to subtly advance the technology of their "host" species, again trying not to alert any outsiders that that has even occured. The desperation which lead to the creation of Daleks is likely the influence which pushed them from feeling apathetic towards other species, to actively hating all others, particularly the time lords, who realistically are the only ones who could even figure out the Daleks aren't even Daleks but Yithians.
Ive always wanted to watch the entire dalek story in the correct timeline order, as opposed to just broadcast order. This order doesn’t seem to get much better for a dalek timeline

Someone theorized that Davros uses emergency temporal shift to escape the Crucible. We’re never shown him dying we just see flames erupt in front of him and then cut to the Doctor as he screams. That would explain why Davros is dying all of the sudden in “The Magician’s Apprentice”; the emergency temporal shift left him on the verge of death.
Dying all of the sudden He was old when he battled the eighth doctor and remembered the eighth doctor luck forgot his His age meaning that it has been two thousand years since the classic series
Y'know, I gotta commend them for how persistent thery are. They've been on the backfoot hundreds of times and seem to constantly be defeated and wiped out, and yet through pure hatred and willpower they force themselves back into existence and dominance
In Genesis they are at the _end_ of a thousand years of war. The nuclear, biological and chemical weapons were used in the first century. That lead to the devastation of Skaro; the two civlisations are reduced to a single city each, inside their protective domes. The war has turned into a grinding attrition and a stalemate similar to World War One , neither side can win, their resources are exhausted to the point where they are starting to use more and more primitve weapons - even spears and bows and arrows.
No that'll cause over saturation. The Veiwers and Writers will get burnt out from having them pop up every season. This every season crap killed Dalek Mania during the sixties and have been screwing over the last 7 Dalek Stories.

The journey crippled Davros' health, but he still managed to harvest the old city's hatcheries for genetic material to make new Daleks. It was LOW QUALITY material which explains their genetic defect in S9
Magic player. This break down really has me in a great mood to build the Cult of Skaros deck i've been planning with the Doctor Who cards that were printed.
My word, that was comprehensive to say the least. As a kid in America I grew up watching and loving Baker introduce us to Doctor Who you can't have Doctor Who without having the iconic enemy what's a distinctive voice yelling exterminate exterminate exterminate!
This was done quite very well! It's missing some things, which isn't the fault of the writer, more because the BBC destroyed many episodes, and unpublished stories. This was a very nice refresher, as I saw clips of episodes I didn't even know existed. I'm from the USA, so growing up, our entire country only knew of doctor #4, Tom Baker. I didn't even know about regeneration because our networks not only only showed us Tom Baker, but also never showed past episodes played by other actors, including any episode that even mentioned a word of it. The only thing I give credit to, in regards to the networks broadcasting the show in the USA, was channel 9, the first network to broadcast the show. To bad the BBC didn't hold off on killing all those episodes, because that first ever showing would have proved the past episodes had more life to them. Sadly, not the case. The executives for channel 9 broadcasted the first ever doctor who here which was the one I saw when I was 8 one Saturday. Sadly I had missed the first episode and tuned into the one episode that got me hooked on the show, which was Tom Baker trying to prevent their creation. Moment I saw the mark 3 travel machine, and Davros, I litterly said Space Nazzis!!! That episode got me so hooked on the show, was the first show, not a cartoon, I was willing to watch. Very very captivating. Next few years, other networks, like Connecticut Public Television, who helped me to go to my first Doctor Who convention and meet Collin Baker in person. PBS was responsible for spilling the beans over here that Tom Baker was not the only one. Sadly, they did these out of order, so was just dumbfounded seeing Aderick, and some blond guy I at first thought were trying to rescue Tom Baker, until Aderick said "Doctor...." That not only threw me through a loop, it got me in serious trouble with my mom for the $48 phone call I made to the network, asking where the hell did they put Tom Baker!!!??? I still feel the sting of that phone bill!! Spoke to the director of Connecticut PBS who didn't want to ruin the show for me, so just said Regeneration... Keep watching. If they didn't want to ruin it, they should have kept the episodes in order. That I found out In later years, was the BBC stupidity. They seeing their cash cow, priced the episodes too high, so only a select few made it to the USA late 80s. BBC got so greedy, it caused the shows cancelation. Thank God someone like me, loved the show enough to reboot it in 2005. I love the reboot as much as the oldies, but sadly Tom Baker had to share the spot lite with David Tennant. My two favorites!!

The Paradigm Daleks looked like they'd been designed in a daycare. They reminded me of a packet of Skittles.
An excellent and informative video MrTardis! I love how this has been woven into a working continuity
The Dalek Emperor in Evil of the Daleks was awesome in billions of ways
He looked kinda cute
Needs to be updated to mention that the doctor is the reason they are called Dalek and have a plunger instead of a claw
It is admirable how they stretched these things for decades of material.
For a show originally aimed at kids, this got really dark at times.
Doctor who was a family show. So yes it got dark but it was always supposed to entertain and engage the audience
@@cruzloera4931 well not me
My grandson and I are wst hing this together.
Great job. I knew nothing, prior to your video.
It must take a lot of work.❤
I love how you included the Daleks showing up in Lego Gotham City as cannon !
Pretty sure it ain't canon...
@@charlieburton5336 It's Doctor Who, who said canon matters?!
I want to thank you, Mr. TARDIS, for remembering that "Doctor Who" started in 1963 rather than 2005. You've no idea how frustrating it's been.
This plot line is over the top.
Ive always wanted to watch the entire dalek story in the correct timeline order, as opposed to just broadcast order. This order doesn’t seem to get much better for a dalek timeline
I have been watching the Dr for 40 odd years. I think you got it.
I’m only 13 min in and this is amazing!!
Good job as always!
Who Crew!
I always do Dalek marathons in their order, not by air date, been doing it for 10 years, but i always start with I Davros then Genesis, then the Daleks and then the rest in airing order.
Seeing the Lego Daleks was a nice surprise
LEGO Daleks are canon.
Change my mind.
@@MrTARDIS We won't.
@@MrTARDIS Does that make the Twelfth Doctor's involvment in LEGO Dimensions canon as well? I would very much like to believe that the Doctor has canonically met Gandalf and GLaDOS
so as someone who has never watched doctor who and decided to take amlook at the daleks, all of their defeats basically end in nuh uh? I guess that's what happens when your timeline makes spaghetti look methodical and organized
Can't believe I watched all of this but I was enthralled by your presentation. I did watch every episode televised in the 70s and 80s but I grew up and had a family and the internet was still a long way off so anything made after the end of the 80s I haven't seen........yet. looks like I have missed a lot.
Y'know, for the most evil brings in the Galaxy, they sure do lose a lot. Also any and all LEGO Daleks are canon, fact
We only see losses.. there is probably thousands of wins off screen for every loss we see

Quiet
Someone theorized that Davros uses emergency temporal shift to escape the Crucible. We’re never shown him dying we just see flames erupt in front of him and then cut to the Doctor as he screams.
That would explain why Davros is dying all of the sudden in “The Magician’s Apprentice”; the emergency temporal shift left him on the verge of death.
Dying all of the sudden He was old when he battled the eighth doctor and remembered the eighth doctor luck forgot his His age meaning that it has been two thousand years since the classic series
Lovely video! I'm liking you entering into the lore and expanded universe
Y'know, I gotta commend them for how persistent thery are. They've been on the backfoot hundreds of times and seem to constantly be defeated and wiped out, and yet through pure hatred and willpower they force themselves back into existence and dominance
"Waging a thousand year war" and "didn't take long to turn nuclear" That kind of sounds like it took a long time to me.
Love this, gives a lot more consistency to the daleks. Question is, would you ever do this again with the inclusion of Big Finish stories? 😂
Every series needs a Dalek episode
According to terry nation but it failed
No that'll cause over saturation.
The Veiwers and Writers will get burnt out from having them pop up every season.
This every season crap killed Dalek Mania during the sixties and have been screwing over the last 7 Dalek Stories.
@@robotx9285 Not a Dalek fan? Not to worry there's lots of other fun episodes. They seem to have the cybermen most series, how do go with the cybermen?
@@michaelclement1337 Nah, Daleks are my favorite Doctor Who Villains, but even I will get tired if they appear to often.
A wonderful and concise history of the many twists and turns of this fascinating race.
I'm a simple fellow. I see a "Dr. Who" themed channel....I subscribe instantly.
Great content, good sir.
I was so annoyed by the lack of explanation for Davros and his city in Series 9 I legit constructed my own elaborate headcanon 😅
the Crucible Vault where he was contained didn't get obliterated with the rest of the ship - rather *blasted into space* where it crashed on the post-Time War Skaro months later. The journey crippled Davros' health, but he still managed to harvest the old city's hatcheries for genetic material to make new Daleks. It was LOW QUALITY material which explains their genetic defect in S9
16:55 did he just make corpse starch?
Amazing, well done, and presented with thought and logic!
“So the Daleks just built a Time Machine” truly, a Tuesday afternoon.
35:31 The Daleks should have just waited until 2024 - the Doctor was destroyed by the BBC.
We NEED an Evil of the Daleks animation
Good news it’s coming
I like it you made their appearance in Lego Batman Cannon 😂
Magic player. This break down really has me in a great mood to build the Cult of Skaros deck i've been planning with the Doctor Who cards that were printed.
Just what I needed, some dalek content 🖤🖤
Fantastic, about time something like this came..
This was brilliant 👏 👌 loved it because I learnt so much about the biggest villains of the Dr Who story. Thank you so much 💓
Excellent! Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
Great video, loved to be able to see things in a straight line.
As a person who’s been watching Doctor who since I was a baby, I love this vid!! (Finally I understand their lore lol!!)
Bloody brilliant sir, absolutely loved it. Going to start listening to the horror podcast too. Great stuff, love the channel.
