Sadhguru is an amazing human being benefitting crores of people around the world. His system of yoga has been studied extensively by univeristies around the world including Harvard and found to be beneficial at many levels. These research citations are available for anyone to see on Isha websites. I am more concerned about people who claim that their views are the only truth and rest everything is pseudoscience.

But they still admit that science at current form does not have all answers and are curious about the meditative powers of consciousness. And then it is funny to see these half baked mallu 'scientists' with half baked knowledge from youtube videos thrashing Sadhguru. I do understand that they have an agenda to cater to a local commie audience. Twenty years ago this would have worked but now all everything is online and people can compare. And the funny thing is that those true scientists in MIT and Harvard seem to understand what Sadhguru is saying while this youtube educated scientist does not. Being a PhD. Scholar in physics, I've always tried and still trying to educate young generatios the beauty of science and to believe in facts. But, once in my early stage of life, I too had watched sadguru's videos and fascinated by his beautiful speaking skills and all. But when I had gone through one of his books named inner engineering, I had stoped every thing related to him. Coz I understood there's nothing in it. I advice people to experience and learn from mistakes. I too had many mistakes and wrong thoughts about the world around me. But being a science follower and believer of facts, I learned from my mistakes. All the support to Science.
Inner Engineering is not a scientific treatise. It is a book on meditative approach to life based on Yogic principles. It was wrong of you to approach that as a strictly scientific thesis. It is more correct to see the book as a spiritual self help guide.

In this video he said about the book "The skeptics' guide to the universe " was published in 2018. & it contains only information about 2018 scientific proof.....now 2023 has come & in this 5 years short time a lot of data has been researched.....and it clarifies a lot of science are yet to be rethink......even scientists can't even explain what is going on... But people are making conclusions with that.......

You are very naive to think it was all organic. You definitely don't need a sadguru to tell you meditation is good. Mind illusion ആണെങ്കിൽ എന്താണ് mental health. Mental means relating to the mind as per Google. Mind എന്നത് brain ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്ന illusion ആയിരിക്കെ mental health treatment എന്നാൽ brain- നെ സംബന്ധിക്കുന്ന treatment ആയിരിക്കണം. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ അത് physical health ന്റെ treatment തന്നെയല്ലെ. Mind ഇല്ലായെങ്കിൽ depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, BPD ഇവയെല്ലാം എന്താണ്. ഇതിനെയെല്ലാം എങ്ങനെ മനസിലാക്കണം. ഇതെല്ലാം നമ്മൾ എവിടെയാണ് experience ചെയ്യുന്നത്. Positive thinking ന് disadvantages ഉണ്ട് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞത് മനസിലാക്കുന്നു. But negative thoughts survival ന് ആവശ്യമാണെന്നതുപോലെ negative thoughts survival നെ adverse ആയി ബാധിക്കാറും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ. Negative thoughts കൊണ്ട് motivate ആയാണ് പലരും suicide ചെയ്യാൻ ശ്രമിക്കാറുള്ളത്. Positive/negative thinking complete myth ആണെങ്കിൽ, positive/negative attitude കൊണ്ട് daily life ൽ ഒന്നും മാറാൻ പോകുന്നില്ല എന്ന് പറയാൻ കഴിയുമൊ. Psychosomatic health problems നും ചിന്തകൾക്കും connection ഇല്ലെ. മനസ്സിന്റെ സംതൃപ്തി ശരീരത്തിനെ ബാധിക്കും എന്നാണ് ഞാൻ കരുതിയിരുന്നത്. സംതൃപ്തിയോടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്ന ആളുടെ ശരീരവും അറപ്പോടെ കഴിക്കുന്ന ആളുടെ ശരീരവും ഒരേ രീതിയിലായിരിക്കുമോ respond ചെയ്യുക. Some people throw up immediately in such situations. ഇതിന് മനസ്സിന് പങ്കില്ലെ. Albert Einstein said, "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant." What does that mean!! I understand frauds making money out of people's ignorance. They must be called out. But these are my genuine questions as taking something at its face value isn't good. 🙂
Even though they are called mental disorders, the mind is a part (creation)of the brain. But these disorders can't be treated using oral medicines or such ( Idk why) .Counselling and therapies are used. Oh and antidepressants actually work for the brain and not mind. Does that mean depression can be cured with it? Nope. But I do agree with you in the case of the adverse effects caused by a negative attitude.

Hi Ananthraman, it was a wonderful discussion. But, I think there's a small clarification regarding your discussion on Allopathy and Ayurveda. Of course we agree with modern scientific proofs. However there are indigenous medical solutions to many diseases. I had a severe auto immune condition for about 13 years. I had a very bad journey with my parents taking me to retreat centres and many other places. It was just traumatic. I got treatment from Jipmer, CMC Vellore and many other clinics. All the five years, I got treatment from allopathic medicine, I was prescribed steroids and NSAID's. That was just a temporary solution for symptoms. Now it has been 6 years i am taking Ayurveda treatment. I have significantly improved my health. I think for every disease, we have to go for an allopathic full body test. For auto immune disorders like arthritis there are good treatments in Ayurveda and even Homeopathy. They are not pseudo sciences. It is the narratives that surround them and the demigods like Sadhguru often use the narratives that make us feel all of them are pseudo sciences. We had herbal solutions before biomedicine arrived in the country with the colonisers. I pursue my research, in the history of medicine in the colonial era. These are wonderful discussions in social science communities. I'm not saying there is something great about what is 'Indian'. But depending on the physical condition of the patient, after all necessary check ups which are available in allopathy, we have to wisely choose what to follow. For example for cancer or emergency medicine and many others, Allopathy provides the solution. But there are fields, where herbal medicines prove their best like arthritis, spondylitis, disc complaints etc.

His system of yoga has been studied extensively by univeristies around the world including Harvard and found to be beneficial at many levels. Being a PhD. Scholar in physics, I've always tried and still trying to educate young generatios the beauty of science and to believe in facts. But, once in my early stage of life, I too had watched sadguru's videos and fascinated by his beautiful speaking skills and all. But when I had gone through one of his books named inner engineering, I had stoped every thing related to him. Coz I understood there's nothing in it. I advice people to experience and learn from mistakes. I too had many mistakes and wrong thoughts about the world around me. But being a science follower and believer of facts, I learned from my mistakes. All the support to Science.

Inner Engineering is not a scientific treatise. It is a book on meditative approach to life based on Yogic principles. It was wrong of you to approach that as a strictly scientific thesis. It is more correct to see the book as a spiritual self help guide.

Mind illusion ആണെങ്കിൽ എന്താണ് mental health. Mental means relating to the mind as per Google. Even though they are called mental disorders, the mind is a part (creation)of the brain. But these disorders can't be treated using oral medicines or such ( Idk why) .Counselling and therapies are used. Oh and antidepressants actually work for the brain and not mind. Does that mean depression can be cured with it? Nope.
But I do agree with you in the case of the adverse effects caused by a negative attitude.

Hi Ananthraman, it was a wonderful discussion. But, I think there's a small clarification regarding your discussion on Allopathy and Ayurveda. Of course we agree with modern scientific proofs. However there are indigenous medical solutions to many diseases. I had a severe auto immune condition for about 13 years. I had a very bad journey with my parents taking me to retreat centres and many other places. It was just traumatic. I got treatment from Jipmer, CMC Vellore and many other clinics. All the five years, I got treatment from allopathic medicine, I was prescribed steroids and NSAID's. That was just a temporary solution for symptoms. Now it has been 6 years i am taking Ayurveda treatment. I have significantly improved my health. I think for every disease, we have to go for an allopathic full body test. For auto immune disorders like arthritis there are good treatments in Ayurveda and even Homeopathy. They are not pseudo sciences. It is the narratives that surround them and the demigods like Sadhguru often use the narratives that make us feel all of them are pseudo sciences. We had herbal solutions before biomedicine arrived in the country with the colonisers. I pursue my research, in the history of medicine in the colonial era. These are wonderful discussions in social science communities. I'm not saying there is something great about what is 'Indian'. But depending on the physical condition of the patient, after all necessary check ups which are available in allopathy, we have to wisely choose what to follow. For example for cancer or emergency medicine and many others, Allopathy provides the solution. But there are fields, where herbal medicines prove their best like arthritis, spondylitis, disc complaints etc.
Really true... While allopathy is unable to address something, ayurveda can help. Most of the time, it is true that allopathy just addresses the symptoms and not the cause

1) Can you clearly see a book which is kept on a table that you are watching from 1 km away? ( Human has limitations )
2) Can your naked eye see more than third dimensional things ?
3) Science is a branch which is updating when new things comes with more crystal evidance than the old things with few evidance. Then people start to rethink! Yeah the new thing is right and old one is false. So can we completely depend on an unstable branch? Yes or No
4) As a common man can you go to space and watch earth is ellipsoid / spheroid or whatever it is? ( Hope Elon Musk will help a common man )
5) Can you meditate! Simply just sit in a normal position 🧘♂️ and take a breath in and out by focusing yourself without any distraction for atleast 10min consistently for a week?
6) Can you said that human is a nissaram in this universe! Just like other animals ( eat, mate, sleep and survive ) Then what about the human race from zero to this! eg : Voyager.. Is that humans are Nissaram like other animals?
7) When the Covid pandemic came as a furious stuff and we saw that thousands of dead bodies were buried together in Italy and China! Could you watch similar kind of situation in India or Kerala? Most of the people died due to their health issues just like normal but at that time the Health department concluded that they were dead only due to Covid 19😂! And we took Vaccines still it continues.. Who got the profit and is that pandemic such a danger?
8) When you mentioned about the lion stuff! Let us check what if you trapped in a cage with a hungry lion, there were some stones, woods and iron rods. As you said that you start to run the lion easly chase you and will kill you. But you are fearless and you cleverly see that weapons you will defenitly take that weapon and start defend yourself to save your life. So Fear is a thing which will discourage our natural talents! These things can easily prove in a sports match also eg: penalty shoot out.. Can you debunk this?
