Can't hear this without crying. My dad has never been affectionate and I've never heard him say I love you.
However he has had my back in every part of life.
I'm a fuck up but Dad always comes to my rescue without complaint and with compassion. He's 80 years old and still always there for me. I love you dad

So thankfull my dad did his job! Gonna be playing this song at his funeral today. I picked this song because my dad was the biggest conway fan and I always think of him when I play this song.

Conway held the record for #1 hits for a couple of decades (55) until that number was surpassed by George Strait who attained 60.

I lost my dad 5-4-23 an this was the last song we played while they shut the casket. 1 memory i have is 16yrs ago i moved to Michigan from NY an i called him like 6mnth later an he was right out that door to come move me right back. I will always think of him coming to rescuing me an saying im your dad, thats my job when it doesnt work out. I had the honor to be his caretaker an even though i lost my mama 8mnth before him, i went from being her caretaker right into being hism. I love you an miss you so much daddy. I will always be your lil girl. Rih Edward Cleavland Sr.

I don't know if Conway had that kind of relationship with his father but the writer of the song wanted Conway to sing it. It was important for them to have in my opinion the greatest singer of all time perform that song.

I never had a dad, only monsters, nor been one, but I get it. Family is civic society's and liberty's foundation and why I fight. Although I don't "participate", I watch from the sidelines and defend. That's MY job. God Bless You.

My heart breaks for the dude in this reaction. You can tell he had no connection to this song because of his life experience. I hope in the future he can identify with with song as a father rather than trying to relate to it with his father. God Bless you guys! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Some people just can’t put themselves in other people’s shoes like that. This song hits me differently than it does you and that’s ok too. My dad didn’t know how to show or even say I love you I felt he didn’t love me and it made me very angry at him. But now that I’m a father I see he showed how much he loved us in the ways he could, we never needed for anything he taught life lessons on being a man. he never gave up on me. The way I treated him and the things I said to him as a teen. I don’t know how he would ever want to be around a person that disrespectful towards them. He never forced his way back in to my life. All he ask was to let him see his grand daughter 1 time. That was 5 years ago and he has been a big part or her life. I understand him more and more as I get older. And watching papa play and play BARBIES. I think all the I love you papa is teaching him how to show love in a better way. I will always remember the day as he was heading home after coming over for dinner. Pats me on the shoulder and said “love you son” as he’s going out the door. lol just a pat on the shoulder. But that’s Dad and I love him.

Conway Twitty was a tremendous singer. He is most known for his duets with Loretta Lynn. "Mississippi Woman, Louisana Man" as an example. I like his later work, such as "The Rose" and "Saturday Night Special". Great reaction. It showed how you connected with the song.

I know how you feel mama, My dad passed away in April a week after his birthday, He was my hero and though I did not express my emotions when he passed, it really hit me hard. Any song about a Father Figure screws me up now. Love the reactions! You should do Monsters by James Blunt, or Old Man in The Back by Nick Bosse, (Old Man in The Back literally hit the hardest)
    Rest in peace da'

    This was the recorded version.
For some reason the uploader edited one of his performances to fit with the recorded track overlaying over it.
I've seen it done before with people like Patsy Cline. But that's more understandable since videos of her is more rare.. But if you think about it, it's not much different than what they do with official videos. Most of the time they're just lip syncing with the song, or aligning the recorded track to clips of a live performance. They just edit it better.
