It’s actually crazy capable once modded like crazy. Fully built mine. Chassis is the only thing left stock. Performs better than my Scx10 pro that is mildly modified.
Pointing out the windows were super clear even before the competition was over says how well you know your opponent. Always a great time watching a master at work.
Dude, this is so awesome. Every time I watch a video where you dab stuff it really gets me excited to try to do something new or just make my trucks better
Loved watching both takes on the same Basecamp. Your fabrication is something else! But as I "make" stuff on CNC mills all day every day, with a bit of lathe production as well, I kind of shy away from fabrication at home. I even did 2/3 of a Govt car mechanic training course, ahem 50 years ago, when I was unemployed. In between times I did some brazing and also bought a Mig welder to repaired my own VW Beetle to get it through the UK MOT test. So I really appreciate what you did in the 24hrs!
I loved the 24 hour format, and the longer, all-in-one video. I watched it straight thru, no problem with good content like this. Try pulling an all nighter, I do that myself when I'm hot on a section of my builds. You might even get the body detailed!
You guys both nailed it. I love seeing how different your priorities are when doing these challenges. I was hoping there was going to be a literal performance section where you both run some gates.
I really liked your take on the truck as well as the build direction. There are so many rigs like this out there and honestly this is one of the first I’ve seen as a prerunner. Executed perfectly and let’s people know you can do more with a standard crawler.
That was freaking awesome hats off to both of you on your builds, great fabrication skills there on that cage too. Definitely need more of these builds.
Probably the funnest build series I’ve seen yet and I’ve been watching since the beginning. Both trucks look great. Your guys skills are top of the mark. We’ll done.
Great work Josh. Been away from the hobby due to work but glad to be back and knocking the dust off my RCs. I get alot from you and Matt. Good balance of cosmetic and capability upgrades. Really enjoyed this. Looking forward to watching the Friday night live sessions again with you and your lovely wife. Best to you and your family!
Amazing work, in terms of the amount of work done you won hands down. Also in degrees of difficulty and major modifications you also won. I really like what you did here, this came together at the end to be the hands down winner of this Mayhem challenge. Truly a job well done sir!
I loved the Desert themed performance build, it did what it’s supposed to do in that configuration. I’m a fan of this format too, the 3/4-1hr wrap-up was one of the most enjoyable watches I’ve had in a long time. Keep up the amazing work @scalebuildersguild /guys!
Love the pre runner theme. Your fab work is incredible. Also the slow motion running at the end was great! Giving Matt a run for his money with the camera work there.
You guys knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to tonight's livestream and all the banter. You guys continue to inspire me for my own builds! Thanks for all you do.
Love the 24 hour mayhem!I dig the prerunnerish style trucks,i have a project ongoing on smaller scale kinda similar layout.I like the turn you made on posting more videos of building trucks and the new goals for this year. Thanks for great content both of you!
Wow!!! That cage with the spare tires. Talk about stepping out of your box, finished product came out phenomenal!!! It was tough to see the changes at first but that just makes someone really look at everything you did. Love the smaller tires as well. Way to build something that no one really expected you to do!! Awesome job!! I am not a fan the vinyl choice but I get you were running out of time. Looking forward to the next one!
Complete beginner in crawler rc and love the creative content. I run drift rc but so cool to see the custom work on what started as RTR kits. New subscriber
This has to be one of my favorite things you guys have done as far as a challenge. Simple amazing work as always and to do it that fast is crazy. Love it
Wow, you nailed it Josh! Incredible, what you have done to the rig in that short amount of time. Seeing that, i found my motivation to continue my super detailed Defender SoftTop... Greetings from Germany
Excellent work Josh! What an amazing result on a really good theme. The body takes backstage to the wonderful tubework, etc. that you fabricated and compliments the truck well! Awesome job and congratulations on a really nice achievement!!!!
Absolutely amazing job. I love watching desert truck racing, and you definitely nailed that look with the long rear suspension travel and tube frame bed. Running footage really sold that too.
Also meant at the halfway mark, it was amazing what you did in the first 12h. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself being sleepy and working on machine tools.
@@HarleyDesignsInc you did a killer job on it! Im just finishing up an ifs capra/sandscorcher hybrid with what i learned from your stl sunday series and some sbg styrene tips. I also designed and printed a chassis for the kamtec reliant robin body that is a blast to drive.
Now that I've seen both build videos, you guys both did an awesome job and it's refreshing to see how different a direction someone can take with their customization. It also makes me want my garage wired for 220 even more now. Since moving to the new place, I haven't been able to use my TIG welder 😬
Dude I watched both of you guys start to finish.. I just learned so much in a short time ..I thank you both and ask you please do more of these. I would love to see you both mod out an IFS gate keeper or something of that nature . Or revamp an axial yeti score . I like race trucks and super scale builds a combination of the two would be cool
Great job on the fabrication. Def gives me some motivation to work on a “Desert racer” themed build I’ve been thinking about. Nice work by both you and Matt on a unique take on a solid platform.
I WANNA BUY THIS THING😍😍😍 you did an OUTSTANDING job on that cage, aluminum panel work and overall rig Josh!!!!! If it weren't mud bog/race Season here in Minnesota I'd make a pretty good offer but real trucks come before the tiny ones!
Superb fabrication Josh, just as I suspected! Would you like an additional 24 hours to paint the body?
That sounds awful!
@@HarleyDesignsInc You know you wanna…
Nah! The green look awesome!
Thanks!
First time I've seen someone build their custom parts! Badass!
Showcases what can be done with the BaseCamp perfectly! 😃👍🏼
With just 24hrs and some expensive tools… 😂
It’s actually crazy capable once modded like crazy. Fully built mine. Chassis is the only thing left stock. Performs better than my Scx10 pro that is mildly modified.
Pointing out the windows were super clear even before the competition was over says how well you know your opponent. Always a great time watching a master at work.
Dude, this is so awesome. Every time I watch a video where you dab stuff it really gets me excited to try to do something new or just make my trucks better
Dude..
You won the challenge.... I knew it would happen.
I knew you were going to go all out till the end.
Amazing job man.
Sir, you crushed this competition, you are driven when it comes down to this!! Bravo!
These challenge builds are where it's at ! Both trucks are a Win Win !
Loved watching both takes on the same Basecamp. Your fabrication is something else! But as I "make" stuff on CNC mills all day every day, with a bit of lathe production as well, I kind of shy away from fabrication at home. That was way fun you guys. Interesting going back and forth between videos to keep everything in phase.
I loved the 24 hour format, and the longer, all-in-one video. I watched it straight thru, no problem with good content like this. Try pulling an all nighter, I do that myself when I'm hot on a section of my builds. You might even get the body detailed!
Nice welding. I've been TIG welding for 12 years now and I'm new to this hobby. looking to get this truck. You did a great job.
Nice build, amazing what no sleep and the right tools (and knowledge!) can accomplish!
Lots of fun to watch your build. Fun to watch it drive too.
Insane how you pulled that off! Way to go! Certainly Impressive. Props man!
Now thats a unique take on it.
That is probably my new favorite build of yours. Gives me some good ideas.
I’m a bit late. But I have to say you and SBG absolutely nailed this. Not new to rc but kinda new to crawlers. You guys are my favorite RUclipsrs 😎😎😎
That was freaking awesome hats off to both of you on your builds, great fabrication skills there on that cage too. Definitely need more of these builds.
Toy truck fabrication is incredible! Wow, that cage turned out awesome. Great work Sir👏🏼👍🏼
Probably the funnest build series I’ve seen yet and I’ve been watching since the beginning. Both trucks look great. Your guys skills are top of the mark. We’ll done.
Great job Josh, not only on the build but also on filming and editing the video. I agree I think this is a great concept for a video series.
Long video but hopefully good entertainment.
@@HarleyDesignsInc it was fun to watch and didn’t lag.
I love what you did. It was a super idea to make it a prerunner style. Verry informative and inspiring, you can be proud of this truck. 🍻
What a great concept. 24 hour RC build. I enjoyed video very much
Really nice guys. I know you have done a trx 4 sport build but I would like to see you do the sport like this to be honest.
It's like watching a mad scientist work... Crazy to see you put this together. Real Nice 👌
Awesome fabrication! Love the long form format of video instead of multiple short ones.
That is killer. I would have never thought about going that route. Nice work
Not a route I normally would have either!
Yeah that is definitely some nice work that was done really like the pre runner look of it.
Looking good Josh, yeah the sliders looks much better, pretty cool build Josh
Best series so far
You impress me with that temporary break you made. Well Done sir. Super cool build!! Very impressive in the time allotted!
That’s actually from Harbor Freight, I’ve had it about 10 years but you can still buy them now. Super cheap tool that is very handy.
Love the way u went and like the longer video keep up great work.
Another awesome build!
I absolutely love the collaborations that the two of you do! Keep up the awesome job!
Very noice! I enjoyed watching your journey with this build. That cage work is top shelf. Well done!!
Love the desert runner concept.
That turned out so cool , hope you keep on working on it
That was an awesome running video Josh!!! That suspension travel looks awesome close up!!! Not bad for a portal rig!!!
Amazing work, in terms of the amount of work done you won hands down. Also in degrees of difficulty and major modifications you also won. I really like what you did here, this came together at the end to be the hands down winner of this Mayhem challenge. Truly a job well done sir!
Side by side, I think Matt’s will win any car show but I’m pretty sure we all expect that!
One of the best video of the year.
Nice job Josh. Looks awesome!
I loved the Desert themed performance build, it did what it’s supposed to do in that configuration. I’m a fan of this format too, the 3/4-1hr wrap-up was one of the most enjoyable watches I’ve had in a long time. Keep up the amazing work @scalebuildersguild /guys!
Fabrication is simply amazing.
Its my favorite part of RC!
Fun ! Small tires with portals and some speed. Add some rad cage work and no sleep for some crazy driving 😎
Total Mayhem !
That Baja/ desert runner style is BADAZZ, too.
Great job Josh ! You can definitely build a 1:1 race car or truck frame, it's only bigger.
Love the pre runner theme. Your fab work is incredible. Also the slow motion running at the end was great! Giving Matt a run for his money with the camera work there.
I was glad I could sneak in a few running clips.
Looking a lot better than the stock truck for sure! Nice job!
I wish it looked a little further from stock, with the body but we’ll fix that.
Well done. It's nice to see the windows clear up as I never thought the body was a shortcoming. Maybe the best mayhem/build off y'all have done
Only spending one day sure makes it less stressful than a full month!
In 24hrs you built what I wish the RC industry would deliver! Great job to both of you guys.
You guys knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to tonight's livestream and all the banter. You guys continue to inspire me for my own builds! Thanks for all you do.
Awesome job Josh! Amazing what you accomplished in 24hrs. Love the desert runner vibe! Thanks once again for taking us along for the ride!
Love the 24 hour mayhem!I dig the prerunnerish style trucks,i have a project ongoing on smaller scale kinda similar layout.I like the turn you made on posting more videos of building trucks and the new goals for this year. Thanks for great content both of you!
It’s been a good year!

The paint color and vinyl need to be changed for sure to fit this better. I am really happy with it.
🍻🍻truck looks great ,nice work ,scx24 24hr mayhem
Complete beginner in crawler rc and love the creative content. I run drift rc but so cool to see the custom work on what started as RTR kits. New subscriber
Looks great, and as always amazing fab work. Thank you for always having something fun to watch!
Looks great Josh! Excellent job on the cage work! Great choice on the wheel and tires! I think this size tire is the perfect look for this body!
This has to be one of my favorite things you guys have done as far as a challenge. Simple amazing work as always and to do it that fast is crazy. Love it
Loved the Build off! Maybe do the same with a 3 day idea. Anyhow Great job guys!
You guys are ballers bro! Now beat em on the trails!!!
Awesome work, such a cool build!
I really dig that band saw mount! Compact and effective!
Wow, you nailed it Josh! Incredible, what you have done to the rig in that short amount of time. Seeing that, i found my motivation to continue my super detailed Defender SoftTop... Greetings from Germany
Very impressive and inspirational!
Man awesome build. I love the 24hr rule. You did a ton in that time frame. love it. Going to watch Matt's video now. Great job.
It’s wild the difference in our videos! I loved watching his too.
Awesome build Josh.
Nice work, love your cage fab especially. Both trucks turned out great!
Excellent work Josh! What an amazing result on a really good theme. The body takes backstage to the wonderful tubework, etc. that you fabricated and compliments the truck well! Awesome job and congratulations on a really nice achievement!!!!
A new clear body and proper paint will have to come so that it is properly finished!
Hitting some sweet jumps
Absolutely amazing job. I love watching desert truck racing, and you definitely nailed that look with the long rear suspension travel and tube frame bed. Running footage really sold that too.
Thanks! It was a ton of fun!
Awesome job Josh.👍👊
Love this a lot would like to see more like this!
Amazing job, especially after the halfway mark!
It’s hard to see the end result until it really starts getting to the completion zone.
Also meant at the halfway mark, it was amazing what you did in the first 12h. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself being sleepy and working on machine tools.
That was cool !! You guys need to do more of those videos.
I agree! Convince Matt to skip some brunches in the future!
Wow dude that looks awesome everything about it
Love your truck ,actually both of them , thank you guys for the videos , great job
The new SCX10 Ⅲ pickup truck is cool😁👍🍻
Damn you killed it for a 24hr build! And nice to see you do a prerunner build.
It may be my first pre runner, I can’t remember!
Amazing work you have done. Wope to see a body matching with that awesome work
I will definitely order it up so I can do that.
Love the long videos. Both trucks looks great!!
That came out looking awesome bro
Josh, I really think you need to have that desert style cage made for sale👍🏽 Great work!!
good lookin build. the cage work is great and i really like the white wheels. y'all have a badass day \m/
Nice builds gentlemen!
Now that I've seen both build videos, you guys both did an awesome job and it's refreshing to see how different a direction someone can take with their customization. It also makes me want my garage wired for 220 even more now. Since moving to the new place, I haven't been able to use my TIG welder 😬
My welder is still running 110 actually! I need to setup 220!
Looks badass, nice job
Great fabrication work, fantastic rear axle travel, looked very good on the drive!
Getting some running footage was a little consolation to not making the body look better.
Great job on the fabrication. Def gives me some motivation to work on a “Desert racer” themed build I’ve been thinking about.
Nice work by both you and Matt on a unique take on a solid platform.
Fantastic job!!! Hope you guys doing more projects like this. Congrats!!!!!
I just have to talk Matt into working into his busy social schedule!
Damn you killed it! love the pre runner theme! Even though you didn’t get to the body very much it still fits the build
We all know I wouldn’t have been able to do much in terms of a nice body anyway!
Outstanding josh.
Truck looks great 👍 the only thing I would add would be a second set of rear shocks
Wow! Skills. Great job.
