I just want to say that I’m truly thankful for the time and effort you have put into this channel, I appreciate how informative your videos are I’ve watch this channel for about 3 years. Before I buy a pen I check to see if you have a video on it. Best regards- Will
Is the pen, by default the "gvfc classic" nibs are noisy (Anello being basically part of the classic line). I have the regular classic in sterling silver and same thing. Now note: it's not ANNOYING or scratchy and still very smooth, and feels more like writing with a pencil does, but def. odd (which is why I think the above video and others refer to as 'Singing' rather than a more unpleasant adjective like "scratchy"). Esp. cuz i KNOW Faber Castell can definitely make a silent A.F nib - i also have a pen from the regular line, the ambition (i.e. not 'Graf von') and that nib is CRAZY silent and smooth.
Sir, I believe the word you are looking for is "marque" (pronounced "mark") rather than "marquee." Not meaning to fuss about trivia, but I thought you would prefer to use the correct word/pronunciation. As for the pen, I would be more tempted by Graf von Faber Castell pens if most of them didn't have metal sections. I'm afraid I am one of those who doesn't care for how those usually feel.
You may want to give the Intuition series a try - they have resin "sections". I use quote marks because the body and section are actually a single piece that's curved at the gripping area.
I really like the victorian flare at the top of the cap and the pocket depth looks like it's going to be sub 5 inches (which can be hard to come by these days). I'm afraid that the metal section is pretty much a deal breaker for me though. My pen budget doesn't support a lot of multi-hundred dollar pens... So, anything in that price range is going to have to tick all the boxes for me :) Thanks for the review!
Shame they've swapped out the wood for resin. Sure the 'ivory' was always resin, but the black was ebony (the version I have), which was replaced (and still the black option in the UK) with grenadilla. Does mean the only finger prints you see are on the cap and grip.
Thanks for the review of an interesting pen. While I find the aesthetics appealing and love the nib on other F-C's (Loom, E-Motion), I'm not a fan of slippery sections. In fact, the Loom tends to slip enough in my hand that the barrel starts to unscrew so it doesn't get the use the wonderful nib would otherwise command. I think I'll give this pen a pass.
The only F-C I own is a Loom, which is an excellent writer but the grip just doesn't work for me. This Anello is a classy design and as usual a great writer, but I know that slick metal section would drive me crazy. Many of the Lamy designs are the same to my mind, and I don't understand why the Germans don't consider the ergonomics of a fountain pen to be of the utmost importance, more so than style.
I was enjoying your video but then I heard quite some squeaking sounds when you were writing. Is that audible when actually writing, or is it the camera picking up and amplifying such sounds?
@@FigbootonPens Ahh yes, I see! It gave me chills so I don't know if I would call it singing. HAHA Anyway, each time you review a Graf Von product, you praise the nib so much. I have seen one in person but not written with it and it just felt small so you're making me quite curious of the writing experience.
@@jeongminhyeong1938 to me, it felt more like writing with a very smooth pencil. You know how pencil on paper makes a bit of noise? yea, that's what it felt like. (Classic in Sterling with 'M' and 'F' nibs). IT was def. an odd thing I did not expect though, because the other Faber Castell i have, the much cheaper Ambition (that's not 'graf von' line) is SUPER silent and smooth.
One end of the pen is all about making allowance for the posting of the cap. The cap at the other end is burdened with a meaningless pastry chef's hat making it too heavy to post. I don't think Dieter Rams'd be impressed. On reflection the flared cap may have an anti scratch function and /or provide something to cling onto when clipping and unclipping the pen from a pocket. How long do plated parts remain plated?

Thanks for watching!
Figboot on Pens You’re Welcome, You Sir are a Gentleman and a scholar!
whether it's due to the paper, ink, or the nib, that is one squeaky pen. it's setting my teeth on edge.

I really enjoy Graf von Faber-Castell Carbon Black. Super dark and fairly wet. I mainly use it in cartridge form in my pocket pens.
I've had my titanium Anello for years and love it a lot. The section being so long negates it being metal because it's so comfortable to hold.

that nib is a paintbrush SHEESH gorgeous pen though!! i love my tamitio maybe one day i'll get one of the higher end pens
Thanks a lot, David. Why don't you review the Intuition, another nice Graf von FC pen, without a metal section?

Thank you, David. I think I would prefer the platinum. I like the hinge of the clip but find the shape awkward.
What happed to the L in castell at around 10:44
Either magic...or on the first take, I fumbled a word and the back of one of the ink swatches smudged the L. You can choose what to believe. :-)
Another great review. Just for your information . There is a version with Black Ebony Wood. That is the version I have with a Broad nib.

I would love a FC pen for the caliber of the nibs, but none of the designs, primarily due to the section designs, do it for me.
Wish i could put the writing hardware of the Faber Castell into a PenBBS or Wing Sung pen I like.

That's what I referred to when I said the nib was "singing" a bit.

Thank you. You have excellent equipment to capture your voice so you don’t have to shout all the time.
Interesting review. Thank you.
Great review. I love the design but would prefer the platinum trim.

I like the way the nib sings :-)
The nib sounds like a sharpie!
I swear those robex cubes move each video
They do... 😋
Nice pen .
