that helix needs to be talked about more, i had heard nothing about it before riding legend at holiwood nights at night this year and i still dont understand how its even possible for a coaster to give that strong and sustained laterals
Agreed! Couple friends of ours were vlogging and caught us as we were coming off the ride for the first time and they ask ‘what’s you think?’ I go ‘that one left turn that literally seems to be going on forever and I’m all ‘aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!’ As I’m hanging out of the car...what the hell was that!!’ So glad that moment was captured, that one element makes it a ‘legend’ for me
I rode legend for the first time this summer and I was blown away, I didn’t think it was going to be nearly as intense or good as it was, I sat in the back seat and I got some really good airtime moments like over the first drop and a few other places, this ride is so underrated
Bucking bronco and "surviving" are perfect, I was floored how intense and just crazy this ride is. I guess I see why it may not get the same attention/some dont like it....it's not meant for all. I thought it was great though, so wild and crazy. Its more jam packed layout gives it the edge over Raven for me, but yeah all 3 are top 10 woodies in my book. This park does have the best wooden collection there is!
This is my second favorite wooden coaster anywhere and my number 3 coaster overall. Voyage Skyrush Legend Holliday World is a great place, and Nights will be an annual trip from now on.
I haven't ridden Legend that many times, but every since the retrack it's every element is more intense Holiday World did an amazing job at updating the ride
In my opinion, legend is by far the most underrated coaster ive ever been on. When I rode it this past july, I was in shock of how intense the ride was.
The Legend is my favorite coaster in the park and it is hands-down one of my favorite wooden coasters ever. I was blown away by how amazing it was. I felt incredibly underwhelmed by The Raven and The Voyage was about what I expected.
Legend is my third favorite at the park. Voyage and T-Bird are 1 and 2 on my list. Not that any of them are bad. Last day of the season my brother and I ran from Legend to Raven to Thunderbird to Voyage during the last hour of the day. What a rush.
This was my first roller coaster...I greyed out because I wasn't expecting how intense it was. Then I rode the Voyage back-to-back as a night ride. It was incredible.
This reminds me so much of Mighty Canadian Minebuster. Waterpark interactions, crazy helix, insane speed, and a good bunch of people wanting it RMCed dispite not having a great layout for it and being the most intense and fun woodie I've ever ridden. Seriously if Canada's wonderland gets an RMC, I really hope it's wild beast.
Yeah, that coaster and I have a hate love relationship. It hurts me after I ride it, but it's is so fun. It hurts me in all the right ways, but it's always my last one or two rides of the day before leaving, because I am not going to be walking very much after riding it.
"Holiday world needs a family coaster desperately"- my family went to holiday world every year since i was about 3... I remember buying basketball shoes and stuffing the soles to be "48 inches" tall (wink). Most families arent like that though haha
What I think they could really use is something that can be 42" akin in style/concept that rides like Firechaser Express at Dollywood or Verlbolten at Busch Gardens Williamsburg set out to accomplish really. Still family-thrill but not insane or rather can be less than 48 inches.
@@oneandonlysound3453 thats a good one, they have a junior coaster for little kids, so something intermediate but still thrilling would be great. Whatever it is though, keep it cheap. Save those big bucks for the big rides
I have a childhood memory of that water game being a competition on Nickelodeon's "Wild and Crazy Kids". I think they played it on Colossus? Who remembers this?
Wow. After this review, I feel like I messed up by not getting any night rides on Legend or Raven. But, I got 9 laps on Voyage (I just couldn't get enough). Next year, I will get these night rides for sure 👍
Johnny McWillams, I was hoping to get a night ride on Voyage but when I was there the park closed at 7 so I wasn't able to, still had a great time anyway. I'll just have to go back and get a night ride.
I remember back on Vortex crew, we used to do water challenge at the end of the night....Never made it past the loops (also, dat helix though. I know I said this about Raven, but MINI BEAST)
I got to accidentally partake in the water cup challenge. I didnt take a cup, I just rode but I did get put behind my group who was doing it. They failed....and I won because that water felt really nice on a hot muggy night!
I think the park made a great decision in having GCI retrack this ride in 2016 but what I don't understand is why they didn't also add Millennium Flyers to it as well.
They need a ground up RMC with as much airtime as steel vengeance and the lateral forces of legend. It could have a 90 degree first drop and at the end have a crazy section like i305 and a quad down. That would be a could fit for this park. Name could be the monster
My legs were non existent after riding this. I think a good family coaster for holiday world would be a Pony Express type ride but you ride the reindeer through the Christmas town.
Taylor... You know that CCI split up into the Gravity Group and GCI right? So if a CCI rollercoaster gets retracked by GCI, it's no longer a CCI, but a GCI! Ghostrider at Knott's Berry Farm: Same story!
Great review! I’d like to give you a suggestion, seeing as you’ve ridden so many coasters, I’d like to see you revisit older reviews of rides from when your channel was still relatively new. I’m sure after riding hundreds of coasters around the world your opinions of these coasters have changed and id be really interested in hearing what you have to say now opposed to then.
Question Taylor.... As I was watching an RMC topper track coaster, it occurred to me and I suddenly wondered how they're able to invert as I couldn't see anywhere along the topper track where up stop wheels would be to keep the train from dropping off the track while inverting. What am I missing?
Hi I am here with a question what roller coasters at Hershey park would a good first time looping coaster. I want all the help I can get because I have never ridden a looping coaster before.
I know full well it's not the best comparison because holiday world has the terrain and better maintainence, but the way the wooden coasters are to me it's not unlike others with wooden coaster collections. For example maybe sf great america. You got a compact, kinda short but really wild and worth it RMC, a out and back with a helix (that really needs GCI or gravity group work so it can duel again), and the coney island cyclone clone model "Viper." Point is, excluding the RMC here just because, you got the out and back versus the inside itself wild ride thats actually somehow less intense but also seems more insane and wierd going in and out of itself versus a track that only kinda crosses the other. The general view there is Viper is actually the weakest, and despite the need to do some fix-up lots of huge fans of american eagle-including those not wanting RMC to touch it (as said, gravity group or gci could do great work on it), over Goliath, the RMC whose lines are THE SAME as american eagle (if they are running one side, which they only ever do), while Viper is generally short. The latter may have changed since Maxx Force is so close now, but probably not by a ton. I think the same break down would work for say, Mt. Olympus, SF St. Louis, Kings Island, etc.
personally i love the layout, but the last time i rode it like 5 years ago, it was really rough. i think that turned me off to it, and personally i think an RMC I-box (or even topper track) conversion of Legend would absolutely S L A P. i do also agree they need a more family friendly coaster though, Raven is family friendly enough because its not very big or fast, but making the step up to Legend and Voyage was definitely really intimidating to me when i was young. ill have to try and ride Legend next spring and see if its better than my last ride in 2015, because i REALLY want to like this coaster, but the roughness ruined it for me my last time around.
If Holiday World gets a family coaster, it should be in the Christmas area. Call it Reindeer Proving Grounds as a place for reindeer to train to be on Santa's Sleigh. It would be a Zamperla custom Moto Coaster with the motorcycles replaced with reindeer. The various elements could represent disciplines the reindeer have to master to be on Santa's team (quick takeoffs, quick turnarounds, avoidance of aerial traffic, roof landings). Does anybody else have any suggestions about what a Holiday World family coaster should be like?
I rode this in 2015, so it could have changed... but I thought it was boring and a little rough. That being said the helix is pretty good but I prefer ghost riders
The Beast: I have the craziest helix on a wooden roller coaster.
Legend: Hold my cup of water
Wholesome
Hold my beer
LOL 😂
I’d say beasts helix is definitely crazier but legends is much better if that makes sense
I prefer the beasts by a lot, mainly due to the insane speed you have going into it, but legends is no slouch
This review will be legendary
The fact I didn't realize the pun till a few seconds later
Goteeem
Lol
Nice pun bro!

@@ATLSloan yeah agreed, and the lats kept getting stronger throughout that helix as well, its just flat out insane
Don't ride on the left side of the train. You will be squashed.
I rode legend for the first time this summer and I was blown away, I didn’t think it was going to be nearly as intense or good as it was, I sat in the back seat and I got some really good airtime moments like over the first drop and a few other places, this ride is so underrated
Taylor here making coaster reviews quicker than Six Flags dispatch times
oh wait, never mind

I waved to the operator of the log flume to the side of the chairlift and it made my day when he waved back lol
This is honestly one of my favorite roller coasters
This is my second favorite wooden coaster anywhere and my number 3 coaster overall.
Voyage
Skyrush
Legend
Holliday World is a great place, and Nights will be an annual trip from now on.
I used to hate Legend but after HWN i actually really like it now. Tho i thought the airtime moment was a lot more noteworthy than you did
taylor is a legend
Lol
I haven't ridden Legend that many times, but every since the retrack it's every element is more intense Holiday World did an amazing job at updating the ride
That helix is epic. It feels like it will never end. And this definitely does not need to be RMCed.
In my opinion, legend is by far the most underrated coaster ive ever been on. When I rode it this past july, I was in shock of how intense the ride was.
I don't get why it's so underrated. Voyage is amazing of course, but Legend is my favorite coaster in the park
I’m lucky that Holiday World is my home park!
Same. We're spoiled for sure
The station is themed to Ichabod Crane’s schoolhouse from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, it even has a school bell
The legend is somehow the LEAST legendary ride in the park lol.
All jokes aside I love this ride so much, thanks for this review dude!
wolf Buddies 123 No, I like making fun of them tho
I don't understand why it's so underrated. It's incredible
The Legend is my favorite coaster in the park and it is hands-down one of my favorite wooden coasters ever. I was blown away by how amazing it was. I felt incredibly underwhelmed by The Raven and The Voyage was about what I expected.
Legend is So underrated
I haven’t been to holiday world but comet at Hershey is super underrated
CoasterHorizons yes comet does look pretty underrated too
Legend is my third favorite at the park. Voyage and T-Bird are 1 and 2 on my list. Not that any of them are bad.
Last day of the season my brother and I ran from Legend to Raven to Thunderbird to Voyage during the last hour of the day. What a rush.
I love its interaction with the water rides. I also agree that Holiday World could use a family coaster.

I just rode the legend, it was awesome!!! My wife and I have season passes, I am going to ride it every weekend
This coaster looks awesome
Awesome review! I was thinking about making that for my next episode of The Coasters R Us Show! And congrats for 170K!
I haven’t been on this coaster yet, but it looks Legendary!
I was there yesterday and it was my first time riding the Legend and the Raven and it's my favorite roller coaster at Holiday World
Legend: I have insane laterals on a coaster!
GhostRider: Hold my Lateral G-force
I got 2 front seat rides in the pouring rain during HWN 2020, and what a wild experience that was
This, Raven, and Voyage are all in my top 25.
1 Like= Taylor should review the coasters at Six Flags St Louis!
Nothing worth reviewing
Danrarbc Well except The Boss
@@Jackrabbit7 The biggest CCI, but not the best.
Danrarbc Yeah it’s not a good ride but it is worth a review
The Boss, MrFreeze, American Thunder, Screamin Eagle, and Ninja are all worth reviewing.
This ride looks insane
4:10 shows the old layout before the 2016 GCI “Legend Reborn” elements were added.
Yeah, that coaster and I have a hate love relationship. It hurts me after I ride it, but it's is so fun. It hurts me in all the right ways, but it's always my last one or two rides of the day before leaving, because I am not going to be walking very much after riding it.
Two back to back Holiday World reviews
I love legend as well. I would love to go on it again this year. Too bad that won't happen
I love Legend! I've only had day rides on it. If the night rides are anything like The Beast's, I can't wait to experience one.
Night rides are insane. At Holiwood Nights 2021 Voyage was closed the first night so everyone was here, and it was mental. It ran so fast that year.
Can you review some of the Six Flags St. Louis Coasters?
Our boi Taylor goin crazy with the videos

Agreed. They could use a good old fashioned Arrow Mine train coaster.
You should do a video where you rank your favorite wooden coasters. I think it would make an interseting list.
I had to read the title a couple of times because I was like, "Oh cool! Taylor met up with The Legend to review Holiday World!"
It literally tries to kill you lol those are the strongest laterals I’ve ever experienced. In my top 20!
I have a childhood memory of that water game being a competition on Nickelodeon's "Wild and Crazy Kids". I think they played it on Colossus? Who remembers this?

My sister is a gp and hates laterals but she loves the legend
Me: I can handle sustained positive G forces!
Legend: "Are you sure about that?"
I love the Legend but it's a bit much at times. You really have to brace yourself. It also looks super cool when viewed from the water park.
Can you do a Pegasus review plz. This is great!
I think the park made a great decision in having GCI retrack this ride in 2016 but what I don't understand is why they didn't also add Millennium Flyers to it as well.

While I haven't ridden The Legend yet the only helix I can think of that would come close would be Ghostrider since it hardly banks at all lmao
I love my home park
Thunderbolt at Kennywood would like to have a word about laterals. Layout of this looks better tho.
When I was younger whenever I rode on this I would always look backwards whenever it told me to not look back. I was such a rebel
lmao

After not including Holiday World in your top 15 parks, you had to give its wooden coasters some love i guess
Yeah Chris from Airtime Thrills will probably hate on this one too 😬😬😬😤
only messing around. ☺

They should get a gravity group family next. OR an RMC family.

All clear, but beware... The Headless Horseman may be near!

Other than two jarring moments, it's a good coaster.

So it's like the Beast, but good?
the purple watercoaster is zoombabwe and letme say it it is a long line lololol
Do you prefer this or Jack Rabbit at Kennywood?
You hear that gravity group? Build an oscars wacky taxi clone at holiday world to fill the family coaster void.

Abby the mii that goes against everything RMC builds tho- plus that market is saturated
