Thank you 🙏 worked like a charm. Buttons are clocks again! Side note: accidentally pressed 52 times instead of 50, and was sent to the Dark Dimension. Quickly pressed 48 more times and was teleported back to safety.
I confess, I didn't think this was going to solve my issue after spilling coffee on my Joy-Con. I even ordered tiny screwdrivers to open it, thinking I'd have to tear it apart and repair it from the inside. But before going that risky route, I tried this method and sure enough, within minutes my buttons were as good as new! Thank you!
Sorry haha... My previous video with Xbox instead of switch was right to the point, but I had plenty of people asking questions in the comments about things I didn't mention in the video. So I thought I'd add that information to the video.

I can confirm this also works with the + and - buttons! My minus button was sticky but this was a quick fix. Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial.

Dude thanks, this helped my extreme ocd with my switch, partially due to me spenning two years saving up for it, and the left joystick was doing a weird sticky thing and this helped me figure out why and how to fix it

Nice, concise, effective and with a little bit of humour as to not make it too dull. Excellently done. Thank you so much. Also, side note, don't worry. Dark Dimension isn't too bad. Met a shadow demon, chill dude.
this worked man thanks. woke up and my x button was "crunchy", pushed it down to break the "crunch" but then it just felt sticky and not clicky. the alcohol helped bring the click back.
Before: Pressing the up dpad button wouldn't work. If it did work, it would read it twice. Meaning pressing UP gives me UP UP sometimes. What I did: I repeated the q-tip on button 3-4 times, pressed like hell and cleaned it after. After: My man. You saved me from buying a left joy-con. It works normally as it should now. Thank you.

I have this issue on my joycons d-pad, but I also had a mushy/sticky button on my PS Vita. The Vita has a bit of a gap around the buttons, so I stuck a paper and went around the whole button and it was coffee residue that came out. That was really the whole problem with my Vita, and that's why I got it so cheap. The Joycons don't have much space to use that same method, so I'll be trying this. Thanks!
