I would say that despite Argentina being a 2nd world country at the moment (we're literally as middle of the pack as it gets, out of the 195 countries in the world we're usually ranked around top 60 for every stat) , most people here that compare Argentina to other countries really believe we're just like Somalia or Yemen (we'll be there in 30 years, but we're nowhere near that misery right now) , Most people really dont care about the outside world, anything outside of Argentina is irrelevant, one big class divide though, is that the lowest echelon of the upper class LOVES U.S , like they really wish Argentina was more like U.S , the upper upper class, rulers, elites, new and old money that actually is involved in somewhat running the country, is the other way around, they think of U.S as if it was Mexico in English + more money, and REALLY looks up to Germanic Europe , specially Germany and Scandinavia, like they really think its paradise on Earth, and U.S is like a ghetto filled with trashy ghetto people without class but with a bunch of money.
In general people of lower and middle class really don't care about the world outside of Argentina, sometimes they'll check out what goes on in Brasil or Uruguay, and rarely, Spain, France and Italy, but most normies think that the reason Argentina is so decadent (and in the last 15 years, the decadence is actually started being felt by the normie npc himself) is because of corruption, nothing else, if there was less corruption Argentina could be like [insert idealized country of the person in question]é
There are also views that go past social class, specially with crime, the vast majority of the lower and upper classes want an iron hand to deal with criminals, whereas a small minority of the upper class, and a huge majority of the middle class, want to continue "guaranteeism" (world very exclusive to the Romance world) , basically, the pro criminal lefty take that sees the cirminal as a victim of society and let's him free 2 weeks after inprisonment, that's actually one of the bigger divides in the country right now and for the last 7 years, its no joke, criminals really do get let off the hook easily, and not just robbers, murderers and sexual abusers too, this is much less prevalent in small towns and in the 2nd biggest city of Argentina (Cordoba City).
30% of Argentina does't have access to clean water on their taps, no proper sewage treatment so their cities smell like poo and very unstable electricity, the only thing this country has 100% is gas, but ghettos (called Villas in Argentinian spanish) dont have gas pipes neither, so they use packaged gas , 99% of Argentinians dont care about any of that, sidewalks and streets are badly done and badly maintained, 99.9999% of Argentinans dont care about that neither.
100 years ago in 1922 Argentina had the prettiest cobblestone street and sidewalk finishes, with some of the highest quality sewage and water threatment in the planet, and prettiest architecture, and the cities smelled like flowers, which is why our leftist decadent stablishment stigmatizes that old Argentina so much, is like when your journalists stigmatize the 1950's with you guys, when you see everything was prettier, safer and more orderly, and your journalists cant wait to tell you "yeah but dis was rasisms and sexisms and all the isms".

I’m going to listen to this 2-3 times because there was so much great info. Im an amateur historian who is very familiar with the history of the USSR and NATO and I tried to explain the China-Canada example to a friend in the first few days of the invasion and they were immediately calling me a Putin sympathizer. Understanding the history of the Ukraine, what NATO has been doing to it over the last 30 years, and how it effects Russia is crucial in understanding why all of this is happening. While I don’t agree with the tactics being used at all, and I’m always anti-war/anti-violence no matter what, I can’t help but think that Russia is not as unjustified as the media is leading us the believe.
And now that they have nothing left to lose, what will that mean for the next levels of escalation from the West? The media keeps hammering the no fly zone over and over again, they are actively trying to fan the flames of a world war . As bad as I feel for the Ukrainian people, he’ll even the Russian soldiers who are stuck fighting this conflict, we must avoid Western military escalation at all costs.
We in the West have been completely drowned in propaganda and have no idea any longer what is true. Like an example being, has anybody else tried to find the number of Ukrainian soldier casualties? It doesn’t exist, every article about their side focuses 100% on the civilians. I understand why, but just seeing how 1 sided the information flow was able to become virtually overnight is terrifying.
I expect this is going to get worse before it gets better. Be safe out there all, and always keep an open mind no matter what, especially in the realm of geopolitics.

If you think that NATO's intervention weakened Russia's position in the region instead of strengthening it, then you have to study history more. Read about "Budapest memorandum". If not for the West, Ukraine had enough allies to form new alliance and become the nuclear center of it. So if anything, Russia should be thankful for Ukraine not having nukes, because they wouldn't be able to do what they did in Chechnya, Georgia, and now Ukraine.

At 49:20 Yarvin talks about US aviators being "imprisoned" by the Soviets after landing there after bombing Japan, and he calls this an "FU" from the Soviets. As a clarification...this was standard practice of all "neutral" countries of the time. The aviators were not imprisoned, but "interned" (i.e. not allowed to return). The USSR was not at war with Japan (at the time) and was officially neutral. US bombers made emergency landings there after bombing missions...but all "neutral" countries are obliged to intern combatants of other countries if they entered their territory. So this was no "FU" at all. Just normal legal practice (the Swiss, for example, did this a lot to all sides)

Exactly, this is just the obligation of a "neutral" country. It should be noted the Soviet Union still would let pilots and crew "escape" back to the US fairly frequently, particularly near the end of the war because they didn't care what Japan thought at that point.

@@reno_death My post wasn't to distinguish between being "imprisoned" and "interned" (although there is a distinction). It was to point out that what the Soviets did was perfectly normal and within the bounds of international law at the time...neutral countries interned combatants from either side. It was part of the Hague Convention. Google Switzerland's internments during WW2. The same happened if any combatants from any side entered Sweden, Turkey, Portugal, Ireland etc.
