It's episodes like this where I wish they weren't restricted to 1 hour. A 2 or 3 hour show with Dank would be fantastic.
There's a fatal flaw in the whole 'You can do what you want over there and we can do what we want over here and everything will be good' thing. Because they literally get off on making us do what they want. They're not content with live and let live.

Not only that. Some people want what you got, some want to hurt you, some are just mad that you are doing better than them, or are using resources they believe they deserve, some think that you have no right to exist etc. It could be one or a combination of any number of myriad of reasons tribes and people clash over. As long as there is sexual competition, this will be happening. When apes fight for their genes to have a better chance to persist and flourish, they're willing to crush you for the most minute reasons. This "everyone is going to just do their own thing and leave others to their devices," is just as utopian a pipe dream as communism.
What all the people, supporting any number of unrealistic utopian world views, have in common, is utter, probably willful, lack of understanding of human nature.
The lesson from the 80’s D.A.R.E. Program was to not sell drugs to cops and you can keep the corvette and the cash.

That town hall meeting thing is quite common. My town does it a bit different, they schedule it for like 1230 pm on a Tuesday and then when no one shows up ( because they can't as theybare at work) they go ahead with the thing people don't want because " no one opposed it at the official meeting"

The Arkansas department of health outlawed a plant that hundreds of thousands of people use as medicine. The Dept claimed they had a town hall but no citizens showed up to oppose the person requesting the ban. Because NO ONE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MEETING OR INTENTION. The guy requesting the ban is a doctor who owns the only methadone clinic around, and he was upset that his patients were using kratom to get off methadone. No one found out about the supposed meeting until months later when police swat teams started raising local businesses and confiscating product. They didn't even charge the businesses. Just stole thousands of dollars worth of kratom because the department of health decided to treat it like heroin.

Given that virus particles are apparently the size of a micron, expecting a mask to contain the virus is about as sensible as expecting your underwear to contain a fart.

The best masks are pf2 (anything bigger than 2 microns gets filtered out,I was wearing pf3s and pf2s for 25 years). My masks had strong elastic,strong nose metal arc and in-built plastic frame that fits neatly over my (shaven!) face otherwise they're useless against small particles.
Those green/blue chinese toilet paper "masks" everybody was using are as effective as a rain dance and N95s are astrology equivalent.
If your chemical respirator doesnt hurt your face and fill with sweat up to your bottom lip, it isnt working. Thats just to keep out droplets in the air which are way bigger.
Someone should tell my doctor this. She's been wearing one since she was brave enough to have in office visits again.

I've been in such a michael malice and count dankula kick in the last few months this is exactly what I needed.
I never once cheated on anything school and hated (literally) school more than most people can comprehend, but I actually enjoyed microeconomics (the only other courses I enjoyed over my entire life were baseball, football, basketball, soccer, weight training, scuba, spanish, and german). My microeconomics teacher got his phd from berkeley in '39...it was a wonderful class: I did according to him receive the highest score he'd ever given out (100 of course, with the next highest grade in the 60s which curved me into the 130s), and I'll never forget what he said to me that had the whole class cracking up laughing (self included)..."For a smart guy, you sure say the dumbest things I've ever heard"--- It might be the most sincere compliment I've ever received.

The Hayes code actually birthed the Film Noir genre.

The Hayes code was a response to Catholic family organizations complaining, and threatening boycotts, it's not "duress" when a market doesn't want what you're selling.
Yep. In some respects I think the code was actually good because the people making the films had to actually be creative so they could say what they wanted without running afoul of the Code. Constraint breeds innovation.

I mean, I've seen people with masks, but I've just assumed they had a cold. I used a mask when jogging once as I was curious about how much the cars kicked up dust from the newly melted ice on the road. From how dirty my mask got just from breathing in "air" was concerning enough, but did also suck to run with a mask so just kept to the woods more often. While a little weird since everyone thinks "covid", but there might be some legitimate reasons to wear one. Still a balaclava is enough for that dust and those masks are just bothersome "nothing", wearing glasses helps more.

There’s still a notable presence of people in California (more so in the bluest regions) who religiously wear masks and in places/situations that have no widespread understanding of potential efficacy: walking alone outside, driving alone, working the register but mask is off nose and on chin, etc. 😆

It's not like Hollywood was doing well before the Hayes code either though. This first couple decades after were really good for Hollywood, and then over time that changed. If we went back to something similar to the Hayes code again it would probably help Hollywood for a couple decades this time around too.

Regarding the two Ghostbusters cartoons: this wasn't uncommon in the 80s. There were a few a shows that had the same name as a more well known IP. The one that comes to mind is "Friday the 13th." Instead of a killer in a hockey mask it was about people from an antique/curiosity shop recovering cursed objects, or some shit like that. It was dull. I know there were more, but I'm drawing a blank.
I grew up in the 80s watching the weekday afternoon cartoons. I remember in GI Joe any and every pilot safely ejected when their plane was shot down.

Count Dankula is missing a major piece of the Scottish political puzzle. I'm the general election after the Scottish referendum, the SNP went from 6 Members of parliament, to 56...of a possible 59. Scotland had been strong loony left labour before.
