    You must be reading my mind. I was thinking by peeling the almonds and getting rid of the fiber. I only drink almond milk. I don’t use animal milk. Thanks for explaining.

    Thank you for your videos,but im a little bit confused about eating almonds with their skin or without

    • @HappyBellyfish
      @HappyBellyfish  9 месяцев назад +1

      Most widely practiced method is to soak and peel the skin or to roast the almonds. Most people find it easier to digest almonds when they do this.

    Growing up my mum used to give me almonds with black pepper corns together, day 1, 1 almond, 1 peppercorn, day 2, 2 of each, day 3 3 etc. I m sure it didn’t carry on to over 10. Now I enjoy the combination. Not sure if there was some reason for the combo?

    • @HappyBellyfish
      @HappyBellyfish  Год назад +2

      about the combination , I am assuming that it is a smart way of eating black pepper which normally we would avoid eating on its own. How many of us would actually take a bite of black pepper despite knowing everything good it can do for us. Our mothers had made uncomplicated ways to make us to eat impossible things :) . Thank you for this comment , I think I am going to try doing it myself now :)

      @@HappyBellyfish I think I remember her saying its good for the brain, but you know its an interesting taste and my more mature palette enjoys it. What abt strawberries and black pepper? Some ppl do that, never tried that. Mum used to do salt and pepper on chopped apples and oranges, was also good.

      @@aishasaeed1661 I have seen people's jaws drop when they see me eating fruits with black pepper and salt 😆. Both of these enhances the flavor. I cannot imagine having a pineapple without black pepper and salt sprinkled on it. It is believed that adding salt also protects the enamel on teeth from acidic fruits and black pepper aids in digestion.

    Do you have a recipe for the almond omelette?

  • @eleanorsmith971
    @eleanorsmith971 Год назад

    I grind my almonds skin and all to make almond flour for baking to substitute for white flour. I’m not go to try and peel them. The benefits I get are much greater than the I’ll affects I can get from the skin. I use 2cups to make one dozen muffins, they are delicious and fulling. ALDIS have been selling the flour with no shell and grind very fine. When I have that flour I only use 1-Cup of mine and 1cup of the flour from Aldies. I think it does taste a little better. I also add a 1/4 cup of ground flax seeds. Diabetic and can’t eat white flour at all.

      Sumac is a spice used extensively in middle eastern cuisine. It comes as berry with which you can make tea or in ground form , which can be used in several recipes and as a seasoning. It has a Tart like flavor and an earthy aroma to it. It is available online these days
