Don’t you think that it should be parents who teach their children about healthy eating and good food. Why should it be teachers who already have their hands full teaching the curriculum. Honestly! Some people always lay the work and the blame on someone else’s shoulders. Try taking some responsibility yourselves!

My mother virtually eliminated sugar from my diet when I was about 13. I used to beg her to get sugar for my cereals's. To which she replied, "there's plenty of sugar in cereals already." Yes I believe they can import good food, have chefs that know how to prepare nutritious food. They have trainers that are educated while the rest of us struggle with trying to afford what we think may be good food. Most produce in stores in midwest in winter look dead and awful and are expensive.

It all starts and ends with what we put in our mouth indeed. But its very hard (especially in the west) to eat the right things in these times. So we say ah poor villagers in Ethiopia, but they still know what to eat and what not. Meanwhile we get sick and ruin our children asking them if they think they are really a boy or girl. Its sad, and a waste of all the hard work of our ancestors.

    1) preferably only water
    2) avoid sugar
    3) avoid eating a lot of carbs - a bit of fruit and potatoes or rice should suffice.
    4) good fats and protein
    5) a lot of greens and veggies (fiber), especially for gut health
    5) feast and fast, no need to eat every couple of hours.

@@cincin4515 Well that’s a good point. I didn’t mean 100 completely different breakfast recipes as such. Whenever I see people talk about healthy breakfast, I see them say “yes eggs, but not too many”, same with avocados and various other foods.
I like a bit of variety; not so much for its own sake but because there are different nutrients out there. for example, eggs are high in protein but low in fibre. When I look at instagram accounts showing healthy meals they look amazing but I often think “Nice, but every day?” tbh I’m just skipping breakfast now, but it just defers the question of what I am actually going to eat, and it does always come back to eggs!
What bugs me about recipe books is that the recipes are always freestanding; they don’t take into account the reality of food shopping. An ideal cookbook for me would take me through like a week or a month or more, reusing leftovers and mixing them with freshly cooked food etc. I would have thought that in the age of apps and automated shopping, that would work very well, but we still throw away mountains of food in my family.

I was blending a ton of blueberries, strawberries, banana, and cranberry for almost 1 month. I didn't realize that I was overwhelming my liver. Then I began to get really tired for no reason which was very unusual for me. This went on for almost 2 weeks and I started to get concerned. I decided to stop the blending of the fruits and within a few days my system went back to normal. I stopped getting tired and need to sleep. I was blending about 6 cups of the stuff. I had a blood test a few weeks later and found that my glucose levels were elevated. Needless to say, I no longer blend any fruits. Too much of a good thing can be dangerous.

BUT - they also give you water. That's the key. You get a whole pitcher and they make sure you drink plenty of it.
