@@KortanaDCS Though the N 11 literally was the baby XD Can't wait to get the earlier birds back in FC. Flying the E.III was so much fun as well (literally the first and still the only sim that has the wing warping modelled correctly!), and I loved taxiing the Albatros D.II (doesn't work with the later models) and the N 11/17 around with the tail up even at slow speeds. Can't see forward? Just push the stick, but not too much XD - the authority on control surfaces gain by thrust is so awesome in RoF. I hate that DCS doesn't model this at all. And their FFB is world class, top notch! Force needed to deflect the control surfaces depend on both speed and thrust (in case of the elevators when being slow, but only if it's blown - no effect in the G.V).
Been considering this module for a while and the sheer quality and simplicity of this tutorial has likely made me get it. Thank you very much and I look forward to the rest of this series!
That's awesome! Once you wrap your head around the way that the French cockpit flow works, it is an extremely comfortable bird to fly, and push to its limits :)
It is one of the more simple 4th gen full fidelity modules in the game. But it is very limited in its role and it has very short stay. It's a good module to get into full fidelity DCS.
Come back to DCS after a long break and stumbled across this, and am now very much looking forward to the rest of the series as I try to grapple with the M2000C after so long away. You have a good concise way of running through the procedure and a clear, well-paced voice that lends itself well to a tutorial IMO. An outstanding and very professional video!
This looks like an awesome module, thanks for a great run-through of the startup procedure. Looks like there's a lot of detail, which is what I love; currently learning the F-16, might get this next.
When did they remove the need to manually punch the ILS coordinates for alignment? I’ve been doing it habitually since I got the module - though I’ve not played in almost 3 months.
So that has been a thing for a while now. You can still do the full alignment, but the stored heading alignment is now available unless the mission maker specifically disables it.
Part 2? Taxi and takeoff is still challenging for me (half dozen attempts), I'm always relieved when I get to 1000 AGL when I can think about actually flying the Dorito.
I understand you run a 3090 GPU? Are all your ingame settings turned down to basically zero to hit 90 FPS with the G2? Does the lack of shadows not bother you? Nice video btw
So I do have a 3090, and yes, my settings are roughly in the middle I can bump them up a fair bit, but flying low and fast around trees or buildings can turn the game into a slideshow.
That is because I used ALCM (stored heading alignment). It is significantly faster than the full alignment, and it will always be available unless deliberately disabled by the mission creator. I'll do a full INS alignment tutorial in the near future :)
Good morning Kortana, Gianvito speaking from Italy I know you hearing your voice while flying with another youtuber (now don't remember his name), I have the Mirage too and I'm traslating the Chuck's manual and there is a word in right consolle, air conditioning bank, "DEPOLL" which unable to translate. Please could help me? Thanks so much, regards. Gianvito
If it was recent, then the other youtuber was probably Spudknocker :) . The DEPOLL tag, was that in the Mirage 2000 or the F1? I'll see what I can find for you :)
@@gianvitoromanazzi975 So I asked around, and the only thing I heard back was something to the effect of "depollution", where the switch can vent the cockpit if it starts to fill with smoke.
@@KortanaDCS Hi, Kortana, thanks so much, so it needs to decontaminate the cockpit. I'ts the the more realistic meaning. Very glad have meet you, already following your videos as soon as I had the chance to see your alone first a couple weks agò. Waiting see fly again greetings from Italy.
Apologies for the shaky recording... I had WAY too much coffee today 😅
@Kirk Wolfe I did! It has been ages, but the Nieuport 17 was my baby :)

There is no "too much coffee" ^^

See, Kortana? I'm NOT the only person who thinks this way...😊
You have a great voice. I'd love to hear you say "auto-destruct sequence activated". 😀

Finally a Cold start from the M2000 Godess herself.
Don't fuck with the jet powered dorito

Extremely clear speech, no nonsense and effective. Bravo, I meeded this video haha
This is exactly what I needed, thank you!

Thank you so much! Taxi, Take-off and landing tutorial should drop sometime this week, with more to follow :)
Thanks for the tutorial! Time for me to learn the Mirage ... finally. Got it like two years ago lol
Recently got into DCS because of the mirage and I cannot wait to fly it.

Great tutorial. Thanks.
finally came the sultan of my heart..
Reminded me a bit of EVA from Command and Conquer.
I've converted this tutorial into a mission file which you can find posted in the DCS user files as "Mirage 2000 Startup Tutorial with Kortana".
Nice tutorial on the great M2000. Thank you 🙏 Best regards
Thank you! Will be waiting for more.
Good fast spool up, nice tutorial, very handy due I re-visiting the 2K since the overhaul, regards.
Thanks so much! Been waiting a while for it

Good work
Kortana, I drink a lot of coffee and have found that the Folgers Half Caff)1/2 Caff works great as I don't get shaky. You may want to give it a try.
Oh man, I may have to try it and double up to 12 cups 😂
Great help Cortana, as always.
Would you please consider doing a short tutorial how you record in VR with this great quality? Would be appreciated.
lol, I have been meaning to do that for ages 😅

Hello, there were some screenshots of documentations in this video I wonder where you found them
Those screenshots are from the Mirage 2000 manual. You can find it in your install directory, Mods>aircraft>M-2000C>Doc

TBH I couldn't fly without shadows especially in VR... still have to try if I can hit that with the CV1 with my new rig (5800x/3070) :D
So I do have a 3090, and yes, my settings are roughly in the middle I can bump them up a fair bit, but flying low and fast around trees or buildings can turn the game into a slideshow.

This is a personalized livery that I made for myself :)

No need to enter coordinates to do INS alignment? How come?
