Thanks for the explanation, Mirage's radar works in a really detailed way right now, RAZBAM did some good work here.

Thanks. The baguette is that kind of aircraft you forget to operate if you leave it on the shelf for to long.

I've never had so much trouble with a radar as I have had with the Mirage-2000C. Even the F-16 was easier to figure out.

It is very difficult to understand the logic of the Mirage systems. I own 19 of the advanced aircraft/heli modules and everyone of them is a walk in the park compared to this nightmare.

The F16 is very user friendly. you have to think this M2000 is from the early 90's so its not as advanced as the F16. However once you play around with it and figure it out you will get the hang of it.

11:35 I had a HUGE problem with this thing automatically activating when I had a target locked. I would destroy the target but could not get it to go away. So it would always be trying to point me to where it was and I couldn't lock any other targets no matter what I tried, even resetting the radar. That's the biggest problem I've had with the radar and why I feel like I can't use it properly.

do you have your radar set to auto mode so ground clutter is taken away? also you can rest the radar with the bottom left togle button underneath the hud. its a black button.

@@synicalmanor it was all during the tutorial for the radar. So it didn't really explain anything to me. I would do what it told me to do, but it wouldn't do what they said it would do. So I ended up not really understanding the radar itself other than the basics of range and azimuth, how to lock and switch STT/TWS. Then I tried the A/A missile tutorial and because I didn't have a good grasp of the radar due to the tutorial being wonky, I had a lot of trouble. Most of my issues came from not being able to see all those switches and knobs at the top because the throttle was blocking them. So I had no idea about ground clutter and all that. Ended up getting all those false returns and unable to find the actual targets it was asking me too lol
But this video helped me a lot. Knowing that switch on the bottom left of the radar "resets" things, I'll be able to do a lot better.

I have had issues with the tutorials too. Set up some enemy planes like cargo planes or something to practice with. Something that is hard to get away and won’t shoot back. And that will help you figure out the radar

First minor issues. One its not degrees, the number at the top is the range..
Second there is no point in going past 80nm unless you are in TAF. Your radar wont pick up anything smaller than a Tu-95 Bear past 68nm. Having your radar in 80nm scan range is useful due to the situational awareness. Its not like having it shorter range will keep you off of someones RWR.
HFR - High Frequency. Best used for closing or hot aspect targets.
ENT - Cycles between HIGH and LOW frequency this is used when you are unsure of the targets aspect or tracking multiple targets at different speeds or aspects.
BFR - Low Frequency. This is used for cold aspect or targets that are moving slow compared to you. Generally shorter ranged than the other two. HFR will get you a lock on a MIG-29 hot aspect at about 60-70nm. ENT about 30-40. and BFR you drop to less than 20 on a cold aspect target.

Even with clutter filters on, i still struggle with the number of icons that pop up on the radar. Basically, i end up zoning in on targets list 1.1 or 1.2.

I appreciate your help please keep in mind I go from platform to platform teaching and learning myself and unfortunately sometimes while recording I call things the wrong thing or forget what it’s called and so forth and so on. By doing RUclips I don’t really get the time to dive deep into an aircraft before I move to the next one lol. But thank you for the help
