    Where on earth would we be without these tutorials. You are a generous person to make such in-depth videos that are so easy to comprehend. If you had a French accent I would have believed you had flown it for real back in the day. Thanks for doing what you do!

    Good video thank you. I love Mirage 2000C. Just one thing, do not active missile warning system in cold start (D2M). Because the D2M uses the same nitrogen bottle as the Magic II missiles. When both systems are active, the nitrogen bottle is empty after 35 minutes. The Magic II will be unusable once the bottle is empty. It is recommended to activate D2M (and Magic II) only when necessary.

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад +1

      Indeed. As mentioned this is just a 'not-from-the-manual' expedited start to get you ready for a quick multiplayer session. The cooling system for the D2M will be mentioned in my countermeasures/electronic warfare tutorials coming soon - the whole curriculum is planned out, I just need to find time to get through it! 🤣

    Hello Sir, many thanks for your Mirage 2000 tutorials. I have been through lots of other ones but I have to admit that yours are the best.
    Just a question, how do you manage to get your pointer active at the same time of your cockpit zooming without using Alt+C option?
    What are your HOTAS settings to this point?

    • @reiver1-1

      Apologies for the delay in replying as I've been away. Many thanks, I appreciate it.
      I have the zoom function bound to a wheel/axis on my HOTAS and I use TrackIR for head motion, so I can keep the pointer active all the time.

      Hello. I have the zoom view set to an axis control on my HOTAS setup - I use a Winwing Orion 2 and have it bound to a wheel on the throttle. That allows my to keep the cursor on its normal mode at all times.
      I don't have a HOTAS settings video for the M2000 (I don't like doing them!) but I do for the Mirage F1 if you wanted to see an example.

      Thank you! When this tutorial was made, the in-game IFF features didn't exist, save for the Mode 4 interrogation which I switched on during the "countermeasures" setup phase in this video, so it wasnt worth discussing at the time. 😁 An updated IFF video is on the to-do list.
      Some aspects of IFF (for external use through SRS/LotATC) are discussed in the "Communications: Radios and Transponder" video. 👍

    Thanks for making this series. You explain really well.
    Quick silly question, just curious to know why you remove wheel chocks before starting the aircraft, as supposed to removing them later after starting the aircraft?
    Wouldn't it be better to remove the wheel chocks after starting the plane, right before taxi, just as a precaution?

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад +1

      In truth, so I don't forget! The parking brakes should be able to handle any misapplied throttle so long as you're paying attention so I always find it a good time to do it when setting the brake.

    Hello sir. Will you make a bombing tutorial with regards to JTAC? I struggle with that in the Mirage

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад

      Hello to you sir.
      Do you mean bombing with regards to taking instruction in the form of a nine-line from the in-game AI JTAC? It really depends on how much simulation you want. The JTAC will give target coordinates to you in the MGRS format, which is incompatible with the Mirage's INS. You could convert the coordinates using an external converter (plenty can be Googled) which obviously breaks the suspension of disbelief. Alternatively, I believe there are mods available to change the AI JTAC's coordinate system.
      Have you watched the bombing tutorial videos in this playlist?

  • @boombaka
    @boombaka Год назад

    It seems ejection seat was already armed and there's no level or switch to arm/unarm it .
    Btw, is there any way to choose the order to drop fuel tanks? By default it drops the middle tank before ones on the wings, but the aircraft always use fuel from the wing's first

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад

      Yes, there is no safety pin in Razbam's modelling of the aircraft in DCS World.
      To my knowledge, the selective jettison always drops the centreline external tank first and there isn't a way of preferring the wing tanks, although I would only use three drop tanks on a ferry flight anyway.

    • @boombaka
      @boombaka Год назад

      @@reiver1-1 Aye, looks like 3 tanks is a bit overkill unless you need to travel across the country.
      One more thing, why is ground crew comm is always greyed out even though it works? Bugs the hell out of me.
      And thank you for your replies!

    • @reiver1-1

      I assume you see other symbology on the HUD, just not the ladder. If that is the case, first check that the INS has been aligned and then been set into the NAV mode and [N] operational mode.
