Reiver is an aviation enthusiast, virtual pilot and all-round nice guy. Join him as he enjoys action, adventure, simulation and (sometimes) bad humour in DCS World. Our philosophy is to provide clear and accessible tutorial content for DCS World, which is detailed enough to help you become conversant with a module without getting bogged down in overly pedantic real-world mimicry. Education is our founding principle but we also want you to enjoy DCS World - whether a seasoned pro or a new starter, whether you think it is a game or a simulation, we hope that our content can help you to get out of DCS World what you want.

Your videos are nice and thorough - but you never show any mappings, which is a bit infuriating when one is trying to get the Mirage setup (again)
I can’t seem to get the steering cues to come up without the IP fix, evrything works fine in that mode. I would love to know how to drop without the fix. In case I can’t fly my original path. For GBU’s the drift ahould be a small factor so the fix won’t always be necessary.
Hello there. Firstly, have you followed the procedures outlined in this tutorial... ruclips.net/video/OpBT0wvMgV4/видео.html
@ Hey, thanks for responding. I watched your video, and I am familiar with how the hud designation works. I am trying to toss GBU’s without the need to place the target in the hud first. The ins fix method works well for this but it limits my approach to the waypoint that has the BAD Offset. @ 19:32 the text on screen says that if you do not need an ip fix, overfly the waypoint and the steering cues will appear. Do I still need to HUD designate in this case? Or will I be able to drop solely based off of the BAD offset waypoint, allowing the laser guidance to correct the INS drift?
Ahh I see what you are saying. I mean the IP fix isn't essential if the IP waypoint hasn't drifted - flying over it makes the system assume it is correct. If you don't want to designate the target and you can be confident that your INS won't have drifted significantly, you can simply *overfly an IP point* with the required offset without having to "fix" it with the diamond reticle in the HUD. With PI set, as you overfly the IP point it should switch over to the steering cues. You still need to set the correct offset ahead of time though. You cannot simply place the coordinates of the target as a waypoint, and overfly that waypoint and get the steering cues for a laser-guided bomb release - the SNA system doesn't work like that. For GBUs, it's either: a) tell the SNA system where you want the bomb to hit by CCRP designating the target by eye in the HUD, or b) tell the SNA system how far away the target is and in what direction by designating an initial point by eye in the HUD with PI mode and an offset set (or overfly the initial point at low level in PI mode with the correct offset set). Hope that makes sense.
@ yes thank you! That definitely answers my question.
@walterwatkins1762 Happy Flying and Happy New Year!
I honestly wish you to be THE GUY for everything DCS tutorial related, your pace, explanation and tone are absolutely perfect. Your pedagogic methods make this enjoyable for experienced and new DCS players.
Would have been epic if the pilot looked at the camera after brotha. I had to share this on Twitter
If only! Thanks dude.
I've been learning how to properly use the radios for many of my DCS modules lately. Today, Mirage 2000 C; I knew where to come for quality instruction. Thank you for this.
Glad it was useful. Did you post on Facebook about this?
@@reiver1-1 Yep, that was me on the Digital Combat Simulator group. I've learned many useful things about the modules you've covered in your "the art of..." series, so I felt I'd give credit where credit was due. Your tutorials are truly professional grade. The radio in the Mirage is a bit intimidating, but your explanation of the RED and and GREEN radios made it crystal clear for me. When I'm on vacation I like to either learn new things or refresh on some I haven't touched for a while so a visit to your page undoubtedly gives me the answers to what I'm looking for the Mirage 2000 C.
Thy vm best as ever😊
You're welcome!
Noice😊
😃
As a swedish person and a viggen fanatic iro and in dcs, it makes me happy seeing it get more recognition ❤
It's an underappreciated airframe, but your support is very much appreciated!
Thank you very much for this tutorial series! The Mirage F1 is my first DCS Jet and learning new things by following your tutorials was a lot of fun.
You're welcome. She can be unforgiving at times but she is one cool aircraft. Good luck!
"Landningsfält Ett", otherwise extremely good pronunciations throughout! En/Ett is a very weird thing for most people trying to learn swedish, so no surprise about the confusion there. 😅 Also, I don't think you mentioned it but a 90-ref number is automatically generated for FARPs in the mission.
Noooooo! I gambled on the grammatical gender...and lost! 😃 Forgive me, Swedish was not on the curriculum at my school! Ahh yes, good point about the FARPs. A handy tip. Thanks for your feedback and support.
Glad to know your health is better and thanks for another great video.
Slowly! Bizarrely, I still feel drained but can at least work on bits and bobs. Thank you for your support.
Such a good idea to cover the Viggen. Love to get better with this one. You make the best tutorials!.
Thank you very much, very kind. The Viggen is underrepresented so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Good to have you back 😊 I hope you are fully healthy again ☺️ Thank you for this helpful and interesting video 👍🏻😃 Stay safe and healthy 😊😃
Slowly getting back to normal. I still feel drained (it's so bizarre). Thanks for your continued support though, Remington, I appreciate it.
Perfect timing for this tutorial. I am relearning the Viggen after a long break and this is what I needed.
Hope it was useful!
Great to hear from you again, I love your videos and particularly those on the Viggen, which is my favorite DCS aircraft … glad to hear you are getting better healthwise
Thanks Rudelchw. Support and feedback like that makes it all worthwhile.
Didn’t knew about your illness, wish you are recovering well and your health is better now. Wish you the best and thanks for the video.
glad to see more from you. thank you for your time doing this.
Thank you, Lakota. Illness is just about gone. Thank you for your continued support. Hopefully see you on an online server soon.
Hey, a new Video 🎉😊 nice to hear your voice again. Top Video as always
Many thanks!
i cant get ccrp figured out... the weapon cmd fwd only does ccip for me -update- its cause of the bombs i had loaded... got it figured out and thank you brotha!
Glad you figured it out! Yes, bomb delivery options are doctrinal so are set dependent on the weapon type.
What an amazing video! Gold
Thank you!
thank you for this video playlist!

Very nice feel better soon!

Thanks for enabling another virtual Mirage 2000 EG to take to the air. Great work, nay, probably the best youtube tutorials.
Many thanks! I try!
Caught in 2k, remember to apply your shock cone automation on startup guys! Its below the nose wheel steering controls on the EE!
Indeed! This is covered in the video that immediately follows this one.
@@reiver1-1 Very niec lol
Thank you so much for this video! Very informative and well explained.
You're welcome and many thanks.
Hey Reiver. Any plan on making a f16 tutorial series?
I hadn't planned on it. There seems to be a lot of them out there, especially since ED seem to churn out their own videos from Wags.
This was so informative. Thanks!!!
You're welcome.
Your knowledge and tutorials are mind blowing! There is nothing outhere that even comes close.
Thank you very much. That's very kind of you to say. Tell your friends! 😅
Great video! Is there a way to turn off/on the synthetic runway?
Thank you. Yes, pressing the same HOTAS button used for Magic Cage-Uncage/Nav Update will toggle the runway symbology.
@@reiver1-1Thank you!❤
Coincidentally, I've just spotted this in the local news. www.sunderlandecho.com/news/sunderland-air-museum-volunteers-receive-recognition-from-the-king-4863296?fbclid=IwY2xjawGipLVleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHXqpGmg3IbeqeGNJtDp-sQBQyDWalWWAAyI-4g3XVvyR0Ds4nwzPAEDGOw_aem_WUojHkzBCT2n_TTM7wjTBA
I think i visited this museum in my teens at the late 80´s, during a road trip vacation with my parents. I clearly remember the Avro Vulcan.
There's a few left on display in the UK, but this is the only one in the North East of England. There's one at Solway which is probably the next nearest one.
Great tour, love it! Sorry to hear you've been under the weather.
Cheers Gumster. Hope you're well.
Nice content, well-presented.
Thank you.
Great, I have also been there, and such great aircraft there and the vehicles are interesting too. Your vids are presented so well, so I really enjoyed seeing this. Bit different from the normal DCS videos :). I'm hopefully going to see the only Blackburn Beverley left, and a Tornado at the Solway aviation museum, i think they have a Vulcan there too and you can go into the cockpit. It isnt too far from where you went. I hope to go down to Duxford later in spring.
The Beverley would be nice to see; what a great hulk of an aircraft.
Thank you for this Reiver!
You're welcome.
Do you still use Trackir or are you doing the VR thing now ? I’m on the fence …
TrackIR. I have tried VR with other games in the past but I find with the MFDs I use, I'd rather be able to see them and interact with them more readily. TrackIR has never let me down.
Hope youre well again. Your tutorials are superb❤.
Just about. I still feel physically drained but I'm going to make an effort to get some videos out. Working on some yesterday and today. Thanks for your support!
