  • Learn the essential knowledge required to use the various modes of the autopilot in the Mirage F1 in DCS World, including the PA, ALT, CAP, and BIP trim modes. Route and Glideslope modes are covered in the previous tutorial on Instrument Flight Rules Landing. Route Mode will be further explained in future tutorials on navigation.
    The principles covered in this tutorial apply to both the Mirage F1 CE and Mirage F1 EE, and takes place on the Marianas map in DCS World.
    Reiver is terrible at French.
    Reiver is not a hardcore milsim-er - he just likes playing the game well - if you're looking for something more authentic, please consult the flight manual.

    Great video. Been flying the F1 for months and had no idea you could use the Trim hat to navigate like the M2K! Thanks for that!

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад

      Glad to help. It's very different to how the trim hat is used in the M2K but still it's a nice feature. Which do you prefer?

    • @DaveyCooter
      @DaveyCooter Год назад +1

      @reiver1-1 i just tried the feature on the F1, its still pretty handy. A lot nicer than disengaging and re-engaging to make small adjustments. Still definitely prefer the M2K overall. The thing is awesome on Fox1 servers like Blueflash 80s and Tempest. Plus, obviously way more modern conveniences....like IFF lol

    Brilliant! I’m half way through and I learned I don’t need to blow my ears off anytime I want to adjust the A/P! I didn’t understand the difference between disconnect and off, but now I’m gonna swap the bindings for those keys. My eardrums thank you.

      I mean I didn’t understand disconnect and disengage, not disconnect and off.

    Awesome! The F1’s autopilot is a little bit finicky at first, so this is a good video!

      Thank you! Yeah, "finicky" is exactly how I would describe it when you first try it! 😅

      I've just assigned a hot key to the PA toggle so I avoid that mess altogether.

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  Год назад +1

      Absolutely, I have switches on my hotas bound for all five buttons, and the disconnect/disengage options.
