    This module is truly amazing, I particularly appreciate small details like including kneeboard pages with checklists etc. as well as the sounds. I noticed a strange wind noise after take-off - turns out I still had the landing light extended! This light is protruding from the fuselage when extended and produces an increasingly ugly noise above 300kn. I love these details. Listen to your Mirage, if something creaks or rattles she's telling you something isn't right

    Great Tutorial.
    Just one little thing that you mixed up (but don't worry, most people do). The angle of incidence is the angle at which the wing is built onto the plane in referenceto the longitudinal axis. The indication to the left of the HUD displays the angle of attack, the angle between the camber line of the wing (a straight line from leading to trailing edge of the wing) and the relative airflow.
    Even with zero angle of incidence planes can fly (eg most Extra aerobatics). During flight only the Angle of Attack matters, not the angle of incidence.

    • @RedKiteRender
      @RedKiteRender  2 года назад

      It's referred to as angle of incidence in all the documents, the choice of words was deliberate, but thanks for sharing the overview.

    • @RaygunGaming
      @RaygunGaming 2 года назад

      Interestingly enough, flying with 0 angle of incidence can be done at 0 AoA, provided you have a positively cambered wing. Flying something like an Extra where it's a symmetrical airfoil at 0 incidence, you'd need to rely more on AoA for lift.

    Nice tutorial Red, looks like a fun jet to fly. A small correction if I may: Angle of incidence is not the same as AoA. It's the angle between the chord line of the wing and the longitudinal axis of the aircraft. So it's a design thing that doesn't change ( unless you pull too hard haha). Also, I must admit I'm not a big fan of the cockpit textures. A classic mistake of skinners in any sim is to make the blacks too dark, which I think happened here too. It doesn't look like a surface that's painted black, but something darker than that. Maybe it's just RUclips and it will look better in game. Thanks again for the tutorial!

    • @RedKiteRender
      @RedKiteRender  2 года назад

      Have a look at a more recent video's textures! (they're also still too dark, wip) but largely improved.
      As for aoa / incidence. The gauge is called the angle of incidence in the real aircraft's manuals, so that's what i went with.

      @Mumbler Can you be more specific? I think overall they look decent other than the cockpit walls and frames looking kind of blurry zoomed in. Maybe not quite ED or Heatblur quality but not too bad IMO. Frame rate is also a big consideration so Aerges can't go too crazy.

    Why is so much of the cockpit seemingly in English and French? Maybe the French actually use a lot of English aeronautical terms but I find that hard to believe. On the CM panel up front it says "BOTH"... In French that's "tous le deux" which i assume would be shortened to "t. deux" or just "deux" but what do I know. I can only assume this is from the French exporting these things with later modifications in English. Good video, interesting plane.

    I am wondering how does the plane gets flight path vector measured? (Flight direction displayed on HUD) I thought it comes from INS in planes like A10/F16/etc, but this one doesn’t have INS. Is FPV mark in Mirage F1 relative to the air or to the ground?
