Regarding the radar: We are still finishing its visual part. It takes time as this radar has a pretty "raw" picture with a lot of noise, and other peculiarities.
The highlighting is great, but I'd totally celebrate if the individual switches were highlighted as well. In some cases I had to rewind like 10 times in order to find what he's talking about just because the DCS cursors are barely visible on a 24" display. But TBH I'd rather ED would just fix the size of those. They were double the size until DCS went 2.x and I'm having massive problems since.
This is the aircraft that made me want to become a fighter pilot. It was my country's mainstay fighter when I was a kid. I went for pilot selection as soon as I turned 18, but they only took 2 out of 50 applicants and I wasn't one of them. The disappointment was devastating, but now I can skip the selection and fly my dream.
Wow..!! I am glad I got the C-101EB, a couple of years ago, as a way to reward the team and encourage them to continue building skills that would be used to complete the impressive Mirage F-1CE!
NGL, I bought it after I was blasted away after the umpteenth massive patch log, just because. Didn't even touch it yet as I'm not that much into trainers... but I'm totally excited for the F1 :)
@@CakePrincessCelestia mate the C-101 is a blast to fly. I like flying suuuuper low dodging buildings and trees. When you’re that low even a lightly-armed aircraft with, lets face it, not much use in a sim, it’s a BLAST to fly low and fast. You should try it!

If you exceed an ITT of 830 °C for 5 minutes when flying the C-101EB, you'll get engine stall, and engine fire if you persist in engine mishandling. She flies like a dream, but not like some boring msfs trash where you're afk for cruise
I don't even play dcs but this stuff gets me so excited about the future of vr. Imagine doing all of this seamlessly with your hands while looking around the cockpit.
#1 purchase for me since it was announced that Aerges company has been made to make Mirage F1 variants.... Best module developers in the DCS, just look at the love and passion they put to C-101 details and all. And personally I don't even care about trainers in DCS, but that C-101 is just something amazing. So giving a few years time for Aerges to get Mirage F1 developed, it likely will be best cold war fighter there is.

There are many tutorials covering the same subject. And then there's Spud. The others are mostly fine, all contain the same information, but this presentation is a class of its own.
I hardly play DCS but i appreciate it tremendously. The creators (also the third parties) have made a dynamic combat area with vehicles that often are not represented in other traditional games. They are not afraid to go for niche items and that is positive in my mind. I have the Mig-21 and i am thinking about getting the Mirage F-1 as it has always been one of my favo planes. In the past i made plastic models.
Certainly open to it with other developers, Had great fun doing the Tomcat's Jester Lantirn, though working on rapidly changing development versions can be a little challenging
With the Mirage F1 almost out, and the F-4 coming, we have a pretty complete set of DCS flyable aircraft for the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war. F-5E, F-14, Huey, and the coming F-4E for the Iranian side Mirage F1, MiG-21, MiG-19, L-39, Gazelle, Mi-24 Hind, Mi-8 Hip, Su-25A were all used the Iraqis If we got a MiG-23, AH-1J, and a Su-22 flyable module, it would basically complete the combat aircraft set for the Iran-Iraq war. As it stands, I'm pretty sure there is no other historic conflict with a greater proportion of the participant air forces represented in DCS. Bit surprised no one has made a campaign for it yet.

Honesty not got the time to take on extra projects at the moment, I certainly intend on sharing the good word, next time i do a controls video on an aircraft you've designed binds for. I'm amazed with how well you've gotten modules working on a mere gamepad.

Ah, sneaky RedKite getting access to the good stuff! Glad it's you and not some...other group...doing tutorials. Great job on the start up - just the "DCS basics" to get her moving. This aircraft is going to be a great addition to DCS. I am surprised that they've elected to overlook the IFF system - granted, probably due to lack of documentation. Most modules at least make a fair approximation of the IFF. Meh. End of the day, as long as I can fly and drop ordnance I'll be fine. Looking forward to it!
I think they just mean it doesn't do anything in DCS. The Mirage 2000 manual also states that it is not simulated, but it's still clickable and configurable and all that. Just doesn't do anything
The only aircraft to include a proper (if still not 100% simulated because Mode 4/6 is tricky) IFF system is the JF-17, a lot of jets have a simple interrogator but basically none of them have the transponder simulated in any meaningful way
Yep, the in cockpit IFF switch amounts to an on off switch at best in all other aircraft. IFF is done on a dcs coalition logic level, not the aircraft itself at the moment.

A guy I know is a 2000hr Mirage F1 pilot. He said you could start and get airborne in 90 seconds when In ready alert. Start up straight to afterburner!
Yep, sounds totally doable this is slowed down to explain. Without fancy computers or INS alignment you can get going almost as soon as the engine's running!

I hope that it is like in many others, three clicks required to get activated. In ED modules it is three clicks same way as it is three Ctrl+E presses to eject.

But it might have been first ED that brought it to mirrors so you can disable/enable mirrors by clicking them. And then there were few others methods like clicking the throttle as well to hide it. I don't remember who did the ejection seat handle, but at least in Hornet and Viper the three clicks worked there. The NVG cases etc should be in all as part of the cockpit operations. Example in many fighters there are map cases or metal plates/pouches to have paper maps. That should be part of the clickable cockpit where you get the large paper map front of you in cockpit. Clicking the kneeboard on 3D pilot knee should bring the kneeboard nicely raised and hovering over your leg for better visibility. The data cartridge should already be the thing in every aircraft that has one, so you load the file from the game save directory where player can have multiple owns. And of course the kneeboard thing for all mission data, laser codes, frequencies + callnames, ordinance loadouts etc should be accessible from there for all planes. Automatically synced with the mission and existing units, JTAC codes etc. The clickable stick, throttle etc are just begin. Now we have the Mi-24P clickable fan to stop it etc. I really hope that in modules that has more features like a coming Kiowa Warrior that has M4 and Smoke Grenades on top of avionics, that you could click them and get them in use. Click the wanted color and you drop the smoke grenade in that position from the door. Click the M4 and you get character aim the gun out of the door and you can aim and shoot with it like a Huey co-pilot sight or Mi-8 door gunner. In VR you just look around and shoot, and Track IR same way, others having mouse etc possibilities too. This whole clickable thing is really one great way to improve experience, ease the learning and make access to things just better.
@@RedKiteRender yeah a bunch of us on the cold war forums were looking into it, and based on what we found the concensus was no. But that actually isn't super unusual IFF interrogate in the late 60 and early 70s wasn't actually super common on fighter aircraft. GCI would just tell you beforehand

Looks great, but why does every released aircraft have to have a worn\trashy interior? Can't we have a well maintained craft that would include new components?
I believe they are using whatever example they could find. Not many "new" F-1s sitting around =-) It's 50/50 either way that people will love or hate whichever choice is made (brand new or 'weathered")

Probably because no map exists for it. The PG map is just awful and does not represent the area where the majority of combat took place in that war

That's down to ED to implement an actual IFF system in dcs first! The panel can be configured, it's just nothing is connected to it atm.

Click the M4 and you get character aim the gun out of the door and you can aim and shoot with it like a Huey co-pilot sight or Mi-8 door gunner. In VR you just look around and shoot, and Track IR same way, others having mouse etc possibilities too.
This whole clickable thing is really one great way to improve experience, ease the learning and make access to things just better.
I don't believe it can IFF interrogate.
@@RedKiteRender yeah a bunch of us on the cold war forums were looking into it, and based on what we found the concensus was no. But that actually isn't super unusual IFF interrogate in the late 60 and early 70s wasn't actually super common on fighter aircraft. GCI would just tell you beforehand

Looks great, but why does every released aircraft have to have a worn\trashy interior? Can't we have a well maintained craft that would include new components?
I believe they are using whatever example they could find. Not many "new" F-1s sitting around =-)
It's 50/50 either way that people will love or hate whichever choice is made (brand new or 'weathered")
