@@KryptosatanTemnozor I think it's due to the fact that we got to know George Sr. for ourselves, instead of solely relying on Sheldon and his family for snippets on who he really was. I myself have come to the conclusion that while he was obese, and a Lone Star beer lover, he was a good man and an excellent father. He got Mary pregnant with Georgie, but he stuck by her throughout all of it, especially after the birth of twins Missy and Sheldon. Throughout the many highs and many lows, George Sr. was there. We finally got to know the mystery of the man who was Sheldon Cooper's father and I liked him. I actually believe he was a better parent than Mary Cooper, who consistently favored and babied Sheldon, ignoring Missy and Georgie's needs unless she absolutely had to. As to why it's sad now, that we start crying at his funeral? It's because while we know when he died, we didn't have all the details. George Sr. was a great man, loved by all who knew him. Even Sheldon, the perfectionist he is, wishes he could go back, say and handle things differently. He loved his father, and he will miss him forever. It's sad when a good man and father like George Sr. dies, regardless if we knew it was going to happen or not. 😢
The funny thing is, when George says "or when I'm dead" at the end of the episode, Connie actually outlived George.

George said it..."evil b!tch"! That was more in keeping with the Mee Maw that Amy first met in Pasadena at Sheldon & Leonard's apartment. She helped Mary spoil Sheldon. He would've still been intolerable if not for Leonard, Penny & Amy's positive influence on him away from Mee Maw & Mary. Just sayin'!

That was the purpose of him giving him the false recipe so that he would waste all his time making it and then fail in his doomed quest!

No the OP was right, in every season they pay a LOT of nods to Georges death, it's in there to prepare us as the viewers for that episode, we know it's going to happen but what we don't exactly know is how we will feel in the moment of seeing these characters in that moment of loss. Thats why this show is so amazing and it shows a lot about why Sheldon is the way he is.

Most of voodoo is about simple things as spices for a special food type and herbs for tea or medicine. Its not strange at all to go to a shop like that for that kind of reason. That is way more like voodoo than the evil sorcery they usually show on movies/TV shows.

But what annoys me about Missy is how a majority of people sympathize with her because she has Sheldon as a brother and apparently Sheldon is sooo annoying. I don't find Sheldon annoying at all. At least there's some explanation as to why he's the way he is and he never does it intentionally. He's just self-absorbed and has a hard time seeing things from other people's points of view, he has a hard time empathizing. That's hardly something to pin against him lol. And also he never really gets away with things. He and Georgie are always being fussed over and are considered troublemakers (they cause a lot of drama).

I believe it. I may not be from Texas but my dad takes his brisket very seriously. The few times he's made it, it took like 16 hours (counting prep)

Honestly, he deserved that karma. He violates Meemaw's trust by waiting until she was not around and using the key to her home, that she entrusted to him, to sneak into her home to find the recipe to that brisket. She recognizes that he has done this, because her recipe boxes were moved (and any good chef knows when someone has been messing in their recipes.) and she decided to send him on a merry chase to get these ingredients (which MIGHT have worked, (although from what we heard of the recipe she gave him, it sounds like she just wanted him to look and sound ridiculous when he was gathering the ingredients) had he not been using a smoker to cook the brisket. He kept opening the smoker after he put the brisket in...that is a HUGE no-no because opening the hatch while the meat is cooking will let all the heat escape from inside the smoker and thus, the Brisket won't turn out right. That is probably what happened and why he couldn't replicate the perfection of Connie's brisket. And she even got good coffee out of it because they don't sell that brand of coffee in eastern Texas.
Can confirm. We Texans take brisket THAT seriously.
