I mean part of that could be that he still has his family at this point. Don't forget his parents do get divorced after Sheldon walks in on his father and another woman when he is around the age of 13 and then about a year later his father passes away. They make mention that him and his brother are not on speaking terms and I believe Meemaw had also passed away before TBBT. So the only family he has left is his mother and sister who both make appearances in TBBT. Having such unstable teen years can really make social issues a lot worse.

I remember watching the news about 9/11 on tv in our holiday home. I was 22 months old. I also remember our first visit to my aunt and uncle's new home as well as their wedding. It was about two months later. So yes, peopl can have memories from way early. And no, I'm not a genius, nor do I have an eidetic memory.
I barely remember my childhood memories at the age of 13 but I still remember when I was born. that was one of my core memories when I had diabetes to when I was 1 year older in 1989, before I was a baby in 1988. it took me A while to process those a lot of my childhood memories was when I was a teenager in my teenage years in the early 2000s 🧐

I'll miss her forever, but one day, when I DMT blast, I'm sure I'll see her and Grandpa Bill (recorded as one of the 100 best music professors in the country) too.
