  • The all-new #HyundaiSantaFe has arrived and #Hyundai has really raised the bar on the midsize crossover SUV space. The #SantaFeCalligraphy also returns sporting enough tech and luxury to make you think you're driving a Land Rover. For this new generation, the #SantaFe comes standard with 3rd row seating and a powerful 2.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder, a #SantaFeHybrid will be in showrooms in about a month.

Good morning guys! Our second video of today includes driving impressions for the 2.5T Santa Fe Calligraphy! Hyundai had a hybrid powertrain at this event, but no media was allowed to drive it. Production for the hybrid model begins at the end of this month and you should see them in dealers in April/May and we hope to be driving one around that time as well. We also wanted to apologize for the slight audio issue during the interior scenes. There was a glitch somewhere from a cable not being connected properly but that issue is corrected when you go to the driving scene.

Like most/many people, I was a big fan of the new Santa Fe from the first time I saw it, but always felt a bit indifferent about the rear end. I must admit though, the more I see it, the more I like it. I think it just kind of has to grow on you because our eye has gotten so used to a rounded rear end. Just like people.
In the right color, and right trim, this is the sharpest vehicle on the road. And the interior is second to none no matter what class of vehicle you compare it to. It’s brilliant.

I think Hyundai decision to add only captain chairs on the Calligraphy models because they know families with smaller kids won't go for that trim. It's just too nice for the kiddies to mess up. The demographics of buyers that will buy the Calligraphy trims are people who are empty nesters, a family of 4 with pre-teens/ teenagers, and seniors. It would be nice if captain chairs were optional on all trims. But we just can't have it all. But I will say that Limited trim is still a great buy if you really need a bench seat.

@@jraheemjefcoat429 We have 3 kids 11 and under and specifically went with the calligraphy for the captains chairs. It's much easier to get them in where one can go through the seats and get into the back rather than folding the seats down to get back there. Kids aren't that hard on the materials if they've been brought up to respect things.

    • @jraheemjefcoat429

Lol...As a kid, I felt like a boss with my own seats, like I'm the driver.

I couldn't tell if you're really using an iPhone filming this, but the quality, tone, etc. of the video says so, the explanation is great, the two things I could give you, if you're using an iPhone, are first, go the Settings, then Camera, and turn off the Stereo Audio Recording, then to avoid the headlights of the car blinking, instead of just normal 1080p - 25 or 4k - 25, choose the one with PAL, you could choose 1080P - 30 (PAL) or the 4k one. Overall, I like your explanation.

I have always owned big body Range Rovers and decided to buy the Calligraphy in the dark army green with the white interior. I have had it for about 9 weeks and really like it. Very impressed with the design, the way it drives and the handling. My one criticism and it is really bothersome to me is that on a sunny day the led screen that shows the AC and the fan speeds among other things is virtually impossible to see. I have to find an area with shade to see the buttons on that screen. That was not well designed at all.

Reach out to a drink company and do some product placement in those cup holders! I'll take 1% of that deal.

I like it a lot, but with my family of 5 and needs to take lota with us, those captains chairs in the back seem like a deal breaker. Just not enough cargo room with the third row seats up.

What is the point of transforming Santa Fe into a 3-row SUV/Crossover when we already have its big brother with three rows (Palisade)? Why not do something like the Pilot and Passport...?

I saw one of these in the parking lot yesterday. Must have been a lower trim level. It looked like some sort of cheap Chinese Land Rover knockoff.

Why does this vehicle seem so big.? I keep thinking it's too big for me. Yet, an RX 350 is longer and wider. An Acura MDX is 8 inches longer and 4 inches wider. That's crazy. I guess it's not too big
