    Happy almost Friday everyone and thank you so much for the best wishes on our hosts new nuptials last Saturday! Kinda crazy to think we filmed this review about 2 months ago, but the embargo has finally ended and the new Crown Signia once again feels like a Lexus for less and we are digging the styling a lot more than the Venza it replaces. RIP Venza, hopefully the Signia is here to stay!

    Let's be honest about cargo space. The space that the Rav4 and others have over this is measured vertically, and most people don't stack things in SUVs to the ceiling except for occasions when purchasing televisions or moving huge boxes, in which case a few cubic feet aren't making a tremendous difference, and some of that can be made by rearranging and squeezing it in better. The horizontal space of this, however, and the ability to lay many items on the floor beside each other, to me, make this better than taller vehicles with less floor space. You can actually sleep in this! Wagons are great for this, and length matters.

    • @garygarski
      @garygarski 4 месяца назад +5

      Cubic feet of cargo space tells me NOTHING.
      I really agree with you about this subject.
      Rear view mirror that is actually a camera seems to make sense to me.
      If this Crown can store as much or more than my Subaru outback, I will purchase one.

      Yeah way too expensive. Costs the same as an RX. No reason to buy this when you can buy an RX instead. Toyota already learned this lesson with the old Land Cruiser. Sofyan, Most mainstream compact CUVs now exceed $40K in their top trims. The Crown Signia XLE (starting at $43,200) is something of a bargain. 🤩🤩 My only major gripe is the lack of 40/20/40 rear seats as this should be an ideal ski wagon.

      That means a fully loaded Crown Signia is over 12 thousand dollars more expensive than a fully loaded RAV4/CR-V etc. Not worth it in my opinion. Including taxes, fees, accessories etc. a fully loaded Crown Signia Limited would be 60k, no thanks!

    I would choose this over the Lexux RX any day of the week. I love the fluid, organic lines and substantial stance of this versus the sharp, strafing lines of the Lexus. This looks so good I'd probably glance back at it every time I got out of it. Now, if they'd only offer Toyota's newest hybrid system or at least add some simulated shifts to the CVT to get rid of the engine drone.

    For 52k, I believe you might be able to get regular highlander limited for that price. The cargo space and leg room and headroom are horrible considering this is as big as a regular highlander but just 2 rows. You can get a fully loaded RAV4 for 10K less, and still having more space, which makes signia laughable.

    • @B0rnToSlay

      You're missing the point, the Crown is priced higher because of the refinement, not everyone cares about cargo space nor do they need the leg/headroom if they're not tall. My family has a 2022+ Venza, Highlander, and Lexus RX. I've test driven the RAV4. The Venza is a more pleasant driving experience (quieter, smoother, more soft touch materials) than the RAV4 or the Highlander, it's closer to the RX. Since the Crown Signia is replacing the Venza, it will have the similar Lexus-like driving experience.

    • @blackwhirlwind1245
      @blackwhirlwind1245 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@B0rnToSlay where is the refinement? After all, this is still Toyota, not Lexus, It still has some hard touch plastic, it doesn’t have high end audio system, no HUD, no power adjusting steering wheel, sunroof doesn’t even open, no hybrid max powertrain, no passenger memory seat, no 2nd row climate control buttons, no 2nd row sun shades, not even tinted rear windows for 2nd row passengers. 52K is ridiculously expensive for what you get. It should just be 2K more than RAV4, not 50K+.

    • @B0rnToSlay
      @B0rnToSlay 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@blackwhirlwind1245 🙄You're still missing the point. The refinement comes with how it feels when you drive it, not nitpicking specific features. If you don't like the Crown Signia, then buy the Highlander or RAV4 you mentioned, or any of the Lexus crossovers. That's the beauty of Toyota having so many models, people can pick and choose what you want out of their vehicle.

    I am only 5’5” tall and I raise the front seat so I can see adequately. Unfortunately every car that I have driven has a seat that moves forward while raising it. With a 27” inseam I end up driving with the seat as far back as possible. I wish that the seat would go back further but unfortunately vehicle makers don’t see it that way. I really, really like this vehicle and will definitely consider it the next time I am in the market.

    Good review… but nearly $50k for even base model after 7.5% tax and $630 registration in CA is just too expensive. In my Calif county, sales tax and registration adds $4111 based on a $45000 price so you’re over $49k even with base model. A used Volvo XC90 looks attractive for $15k less.

    I plan to purchase this car in 2-3 years. I hope they add a more premium 8-12 speaker option that’s not JBL. I also hope they add 1-2 more exterior color option. I also hope they improve the MPG up to 45-55 MPG instead of its current 36-39 MPG as a hybrid. If they can somehow make it as efficient as Prius’s 52/58 MPG that’s be fantastic

    Major problem with mostly all new Toyota 2024 and 2024 for example, the 2006 Toyota Prius had plenty of headroom and a person 6 foot one could fit in it comfortably the 2024 and 2025. Toyota Prius is completely different someone of that same height cannot fit in the vehicle. The crown also is missing a lot of headroom. A person of 6 foot height cannot fit comfortably in the Toyota crown with less headroom.

    Had a venza but the X took it with her. I drive 22 accord 2.0t. Miss the venza and will consider this car for a future replacement. Not crazy about the front grill. Hope they refresh that soon.
    RANGE the most convoluted mis guided explanation. You will never get over 500 miles. All cars will run out of range on your display with about 2.5 gallons left. This is to protect the hybrid system and the fuel pump.
    So take your 37 mpg × (14.5 gallons-2.5 gallons)=444 miles
    Again 37×12=444
    At the most. Why all reviewers miss state this is grating. But still enjoyed the review.
