We were lucky enough to get our hands on a fresh from the factory 2025 RAV4 Hybrid Limited from a family friend to review and while we are waiting for Toyota to introduce a fully redesigned RAV4 for 2026, the current model is still one of the best and if you simply can't wait for the new model next year, there is nothing wrong with choosing the last model year of this generation and it should also be the most reliable version as well!
does this mean the Lexus equivalent NX350h will be changed next year too? Or will it take another year after the RAV4 2026 for the change to happen on the NX350?
Pretty sure Toyota would make there changes first before Lexus follows next. Hopefully the next Gen is actually bigger interior space with more leg room 😮
Sofyan, Thanks for highlighting the RAV4's comparatively cramped interior. Rather than asking themselves how many more RAV4s they could sell if they matched the dimensions of chief competitors, I suspect Toyota will rest on their laurels and leave the next RAV4 unchanged in this critical area. As much as I admire the RAV4 Hybrid, this one costs more than a Signia XLE and that makes no sense whatsoever.
I wouldn't want a 7 year old used Hybrid, you'll only have about 3-4 years left on the hybrid battery before it is past it's expected life expectancy and could fail at anytime.
These retain value so well not sure you’ll be getting a deal, especially with the hybrid battery might be needing replacement a few years into your ownership. Even with 80k miles these go for over $25k it’s ridiculous. Toyota badge does wonders for resell value in many cases better to just buy new for the warranties and peace of mind.

My dad was a highway engineer and I have inherited his high quality standards and attention to detail. While we have already ordered a new 2025 RAV4, this was a solid commendation of our decision. We are long-term Toyota customers and I just prepped my 14-year old Corolla for the Maine winter. I certainly have enjoyed this car. We also are transitioning our 2017 Camry to our daughter. Our service department is top notch and another major reason we chose this car over others. Besides great work, they have an amazing customer area and provide free transportation if you need it. You really can’t hurt a hybrid by flooring it. The engine is very under-stressed. It’s probably actually good for it to push it. A lot of hybrids end up with carbon because they are never pushed.
Normally I’d agree with you but honestly if you’re gonna charge me $35-$45k, you better give me a luxury interior for that price. If Camry and Prius can do it, so can rav4. And yes your take is really cold.m
It doesn’t have to be luxury but it also doesn’t need to feel so cheap. The turn signal and wiper stalks feel hollow and low grade. The CRVs materials feel so much better and I’m not sure anyone would consider that luxury.
I bought a RA4 Hybrid Cruiser here in AU. Absolutely love this car. Doesnt look so hitech like the new EVs. This car will last me at least 10years and it will still look good on the road. Take it from someone who previously drove the same corolla for 21years.
LOVE the Tan interior ! We are so sick and tired of the 1990 Gloomy Grey and Death Black interior that Every automobile manufacturer has been shoving down everyone’s throats for 35 years.
My sister has a 2009, now it has over 200,000 miles. No engine or transmission issues. Starter and alternator gave up in last 2-3 years. Has started eating a little oil recently, and dealer just recommended changing oil every 3,000 miles and nothing else. Just great vehicles.
Yes !!!! My 2010 RAV4 V6 Limited FWD JBL is the beat 181k miles. Love mine. Pamper it with help from my Toyota ServiceDept. . I'll cry the day I sell it
Great review. I have a 2019 RAV4 Limited, silver with the light grey/white interior and mechanical AWD, auto 8 speed. It has reached 100,000 miles with no problems. I just changed the coolant, oil, and brake fluid. I can comment that the interior has not changed with the exception of the screen graphics and the larger screen. When I bought the RAV4, I noticed that the Limited had some things found in a Lexus, such as the auto up/down windows. As mentioned in the video, the interior can be noisy because Toyota would like you to buy a Lexus to get more interior quietness.
@@dylstaleythey’re built in Japan, Canada mostly and now USA. Primes are only Japan built. You can easily tell a Japanese built model by looking at the bumper. It will have tow points that they used to ship them overseas
I’ve owned a less than peppy Kia Forte for nine years and never felt too safe driving it on the highway. So last week we decided to buy a Toyota Rav Hybrid and I can’t wait to drive it.
So, I bought a 2023 and don't have many complaints. It's an amazing machine. Seeing this video makes me feel better because I saw earlier videos/opinions that the 2025 would be the new gen and have a remake of the grill and some other changes to the exterior look. I don't see anything in this video that shows that, so for me, my 23 looks the same on the outside at least. I couldn't afford the Limited, but the XLE Premium met most of my needs. Wheels are the same as this model too.
Same here- we bought a 23 Ltd and love it.. We live in the frozen North East- New England- and let me say- the all wheel drive is amazing/awesome!! Maybe not off road amazing, but hey, I don’t need that. It’s the snow/ bad weather handling that will give you a safe feeling.
@@hariranormal5584 Subaru, Mazda, even Honda have better deals on interest for financing, and you get more bang for the buck. Toyota is cannibalizing itself... between all the weird ass trims between all their SUVs and Trucks with all their issues... as nice as a Rav4, Camry, Corrolla are in reliability (I worry once they redesign these)... you aren't getting much for the money, esp with the dealership markups and the interest rates... on top of the fact that Toyota and its dealers are very non-negotiable on those terms and are relying on their reputation for their past era as a reason to not bother with their customers. I rather get the other brands for the sake of getting something just as good but cheaper.
The wife just bought a 2024 RAV4 XSE Hybrid (Silver/ black interior) with all options minus the pano sunroof and digital camera rear view mirror. A year ago local dealers were still getting $2k markups. Now they’re selling at $2k discounts(😮). We drove ours right off the lot. Our first hybrid and she loves it. Coming from a 2012 Forester it’s definitely a very techy, quiet and luxurious feel. Only recommendation; we’re doing a post break-in oil change at 1000 mi and subsequent changes at 5k mi intervals. 10k interval is too long! Also might do some Fluid Film protectant on key HV connections since we’re in a saltwater coastal area.
Even the gas only RAV4 is a good choice. That 2.5L 4 cylinder is crazy efficient, compared to the previous generation's 2.5L 4 cylinder. I drive this mostly in the city, and I can average anywhere between 33.6-39 mpg while driving in the normal mode, which is phenomenal. I've leased a RAV4 since 2013, and my family love this car. It's just the perfect daily driver SUV to have. Even the base LE trim has so many nice features, like LED headlights, heated seats, Toyota Safety Sense, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, start stop technology, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
No doubt this is an excellent car, but geez, that price! $46K for a RAV4? I guess that's the world we're living in. I would just buy a 1-2 year old Lexus RX for that money. As always, great review.
It is NUTS! I didn’t even buy my 5th gen 4runner for that price. 🙈 I was interested in a grand Cherokee at first for that kind of price but looking back, It is the best decision I have made in my life. 8 years later trouble free on the runner. Screw the overpriced models today for “Efficiency”
Ya absolutely no way lol. Lower trims are somewhat affordable still but no way in hell i'd buy a 200hp rav4 on year 8 of the generation before a refresh for that much. Toyota is just quadrupling down on this boring drivetrain.
The Rav4 hybrid isn't just built in Japan. It's also assembled in Georgetown Kentucky and Cambridge & Woodstock Ontario in Canada. The Rav4 Prime is only built in Japan.
Great video! Im looking at getting a new rav4 late 2025, is that still considered gen 5? I hope you will also do a video on the new updates for 2025, as you had mentioned yes badging is different and I leave the front grill, but I'd love to know more of what's changing. IM honestly very surprised it doesn't have auto folding mirrors... surley that's standard on most models these days..... I'm really hoping it has that for 2025s build, Is that an option atleast? Is a full size spare also an option? Sorry one last question 😅 is there privacy glass option for the rear window also?

Was ready to buy a RAV4 hybrid in our area, wait time was 1-1.5yrs like what?! By the time I trade in my 7yr old SUV, value would’ve gone down and dealers were charging above MSRP! Bought a 2024 CRV Touring hybrid that was available on dealer lot, $1K off from Honda and dealer charged a little below MSRP! Also sold my 7+ y.o. SUV privately!
@@joek1353true but recalls happen all the time with most manufacturers and no one is exempt from that (look at Kia/Hyundai and even now Toyota). My CRV has been great with no issues (knock on wood) and hopefully, the recall repairs happen soon! So far, still very happy with the CRV hybrid!
@@jeffyoung6222 my 2016 Mazda CX-5 had a recall on the headlights and a service bulletin on the fuel fill intake. Still the best damn car we have ever owned and we buy Toyota and Lexus normally.
Yeah it’s pretty good in terms of overall packaging. I doubt Toyota is going to change the next gen Rav4 very much. They don’t really need to because it’s a numbers game. Despite what anyone says, it’s about numbers because that equals money. I mean, it’s pretty sad for people who are wishing the downfall of Toyota because there are not many signs of that happening just yet 😂. Jokes aside though, I don’t even think the next gen Rav4 needs to be too different from the current one. I still like how the exterior looks, interior could use an overhaul because that larger screen placement in higher trims just looks terrible to me. It was clearly designed for the smaller 8 inch screen which they started out with. But other than that, a bit more sound insulation, less use of cheap feeling plastic (given the price) and slightly better storage solutions are the biggest drawbacks I see based on my ownership.
You must be small 😂 we have 1 and she loves it. I myself don't like the fact that the sienna has open space vs this model. The last Gen model is the one I have and it's actually bigger interior space 😂
@@joek1353 I have a 3rd gen Rav4 as well as a 2022 and it’s slightly better in terms of space but it’s not a difference I’d call massive. I’m not that tall so I fit in both perfectly fine. You have the 4th gen right? Sorry if I got that wrong.
Does anyone know when the 2025 RAV4 is coming to dealers? I feel like it should’ve happened sooner but it’s already November and 2025 RAV4s aren’t available for sale yet
my wifes has averaged 6.2 litres per 100 km since knew and it has 40,000 km on it now. Its fine for its class but nothing special in most aspects. not my cup of tea
$46k plus taxes, for 18” wheels and unpainted half front bumper, non power folding mirrors, puny horn, older generation safety, no retractable rear window shade, droning noise from the CVT, older generation Toyota hybrid powertrain, and a year away from being redesigned. I hope she got a good discount over MSRP
We traded a 2019 RAV4 Limited with 22k miles for a 2024 MB GLC. After 5 yrs, the trade value was 30k! I know I’ll might miss the reliability but I’ll definitely miss the trade value when or if I decide to trade it. The GLC is pretty great!
THE GLC will depreciate much faster than the Toyota. Benz will retain only 40% of its value after 5 year 60k Miles, vsToyota will retain 65% of its value during the same time period. If you are rich you may not care and that is ok.
My wife was going to get one of these in XLE trim, but when we test drove one we were extremely underwhelmed. It was noisy, handling felt a bit clumsy, the interior felt cheaper than her $26k Crosstrek, and peering over the squared off hood felt like driving a truck, which is not what we wanted. We just could not feel where the $38k was going toward. The powertrain was good enough, and I had heard Mazda was going to be stuffing it into the CX-50, so we went to drive a CX-50 for comparison. We loved it so much we didn't even bother waiting for the hybrid version and bought a 2.5 Premium. Even my wife, who is...not a car nut, to say the least, felt the difference. Way more car for our money, and Mazda has allegedly been rock-solid reliable for a decade or so now. Time will tell but for now we're happy our shopping didn't end at the Toyota dealership.
@ryandigney4703 Did you buy the 2.5 regular gas turbo Mazda CX-50? I'm in your same shoes with shopping right now. Drove the hybrid Mazda CX50 and hated it though and test drove the 2 5 Premium+ gas turbo and thought it was great! I've not chosen yet between Honda CR-V hybrid sport touring, Mazda Cx-50 turbo gas, and I test drove a gas RAV4 tonight because they didn't have the hybrid in stock. Waiting to drive it in a few days. Honda drives best but has 2 MAJOR RECALLS, so I'm still shopping around. Ugh on Honda or I would've just bought theirs :(
@StayGold_MrsE we got the 2.5 non-turbo. We felt it had good enough power, couldn't justify the extra cost of the turbo, and wanted the presumed reliability of the N/A powertrain. I like the CR-V hybrid, with its Honda dynamics and Volvo-lite looks, but our usage cycle includes towing a ~1500lb teardrop camper on long road trips, so the weak tow rating (1000lbs) on the CR-V is what struck it from our list. My two cents: I wouldn't worry too much about recalls - a company being willing to put out the recalls and fix the issues is better than them sweeping issues under the rug and not taking accountability 🤷🏻♂️

Is this the 2025? looks like the 2024 plus i cant find any info about the release of 2025 yet. Plus i think if 2025 was released, there would be more than one video on it.
Funny how people are complaining about how outdated the Rav4 is. Now that Toyota has updated the tech and powertrain in the Tacoma and Tundra, everyone is complaining about reliability. I'd rather buy this outdated Rav4 than 90% of the new cars on the market. At least I know it won't have any issues going 100k miles.
In 21 it was time to replace my wife’s 18 year old Camry. I had an 11 Rav 4WD Limited with the 3.5L V6 and loved my car. We looked at a new 22 Rav AWD Limited hybrid. We were so disappointed with it. The fit and finish was subpar. The road noise was pronounced and the seats were uncomfortable. We then looked at a new Venza and wanted to buy one but the option of Tan or Brown Leather interior wasn’t available. Only 1990 Gloomy Grey or Death Black was available, so we decided on an Outback. We know that the Subaru won’t last as long as a Toyota, so when it wears out we’ll replace it with a Lexus NX 350h AWD hybrid. At our age that will be the last vehicle she’ll ever need to own. I sold my Rav and our pickup and bought a new “leftover” 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs. Yes the interior is the Old, Outdated Death Black Leather interior. I reached out to Katzkin and they made me Lava Red Leather seat covers. Katzkin removed the black leather seat covers and installed my Lava Red Leather with black trim and stitching. My Tacoma will be my last pickup s as well.
It’s always been 14.5 When it goes to empty of dte distance to empty. You still have 2.5 gallons on reserve. Giving you 60-100 mpg before bone dry. I’ve ran my 21 xse bone dry and got 610 miles on a tank
I always love your reviews. I checked Toyota regarding tow hitch installation, and they still say (in the fine print) that all models of the 2025 RAV4 "tow hitch installation will require disabling or removing the kick sensor for the power lift gate". In addition, Toyota seems to be underproducing the nutmeg interior color, in the mid-west US dealers only stock ugly black interiors.
My patrol vehicle is a RAV4 AWD. It's roomy. My personal car is a CX5 and compared to the RAV4, mine feels a little peppier but I think the RAV4 is roomier than mine. I chose the CX5 because it's a little cheaper than the RAV4(used car market). New one for either is nearly 40 grand.
All front lighting are LED’s, rear incandescent, I just don’t why manufacturers cheap out like that, I’ll be glad to pay an extra $25 for all LED’s those design engineers need to be schooled, it’s 2024 !!!!!!!!!!
So totally agree. Subaru is the same At least with this RAV4 Prime, they upgraded the front turn signal to LED Puny, like the horn...could be more pronounced, but appreciate the upgrade
Most obvious difference between a 2025 and 2024 RAV4 Hybrid would be the lack of blue outlined Toyota logo and the addition of the Beyond Zero badge out back.
I really wish they would make the lighting full LED. Having halogen rear turn signals is so disappointing. I have full LED everything on my base model Ford Escape and it just looks betyer
Totally agree. I don't get it incandescent rear turn signals and backup lights ! At least these RAV4 Prime models now, finally have LED front turn signals. Not large and could be more pronounced, but I appreciate upgrade. Same with Subaru. Lacks so many LED opportunities If its because of $$s, make it a fair priced small option
Since it doesn't have the Camry fifth-generation hybrid drivetrain or the 3.0 safety sense, you should wait until 2026 for the new refresh or change and hopefully the fifth-generation hybrid drivetrain and safety-sense 3.0. If I'm wrong about this 2025 model, please let me know.
Toyota is resting on its laurels! Why hasn't this been redesigned fully? Last year, Model Y beat the Corolla and RAV4 to become the best selling car in the WORLD. Looks like the same thing will happen for 2024. Model Y is getting a refresh for 2025 so the gap will widen even further.
toyota simps will still buy this for MSRP or over because of PERCEIVED reliability. Regardless of if its true or not. Enjoy your cheap rattly slow plastic box i guess guys
Panoramic sunroof, standard rear vents, 5 door smart key, digital rear view mirror, all auto windows, 300 hp PHEV version, soft touch materials in the rear doors, hands free lift gate, best mpg in its class, spare tire on the hybrid version, quicker than its competitors, LED fog lights, standard AWD on the hybrid and PHEV, 8 way powered passenger seat, wireless CarPlay and android auto on all trims… still makes this best in class 6 years later. Next gen will get the Camrys treatment soo it’ll be a refined version of this which will make it even better. Can’t wait.

Toyota makes some really weird cost cutting decisions.. Why 1 rear seat map pocket? Why LED lights in the front but incandescent rear? Why puddle lights on the mirror but not power folding?
lol wait until you have to bring it to a shop to be diagnosed and fixed my 2018 has been in the shop for almost two months now and still no one can figure out how to fix it , either go full electric or stay with combustion

loved my Civic. love my Accord hybrid I currently have. I was looking into the CR-V but there's no way I can justify getting that over a RAV4. Looks like I'm going back to Toyota when I'm done paying this Accord off and need to get a new ride (have an 05 Tacoma still lol). spare tire/storage, better fuel economy, more options - the CRV only looks nicer on the inside but everything else is trumped by the RAV4. I don't care about big wheels - those hurt your fuel economy anyway. I would actually get rid of them and find some 17" rims
I'm biased because I'm waiting for my 2025 Sienna XSE AWD to arrive, but I'm happier paying about $4000 more for a Sienna that is more versatile and still gets about 36 MPG.
I'm good without "low profile tires/wheels". I'm sure this RAV4, with those tires, will ride better than those with lower profile. This type of vehicle isn't for "quick handling".
I own 2021 same model, paid 45,000 Can$ before taxes and fees. Good car but few cost savings not very impressive. Manual passenger seat on a limited trim, glove box no lock and switches on driver side door not illuminated, my 2015 odyssey has power passenger seat and illuminated switches.
Toyotas getting too greedy in my opinion. They’re nice cars but the prices are crazy especially considering it’s pretty basic. I know people are gonna preach about reliability but they’re not perfect like any car.
I like this colour combo and I’m sure I’d be very happy with a RAV4 hybrid but damn, they are pricey and still, too noisy considering the price tag so 🤔 it really needs more sound dampening
No pano roof on the CRV ever. Europe has gotten the panoramic roof for almost 2 decades. Very weird omission. The CRV in my opinion is better looking but panoramic roof just opens up the interior…..
But the rav4s too compromised just for those two things You’re better off sucking it up and getting a car that’s easier to live with, more comfortable, roomier, better to drive and ride in, quieter etc

All this for only slightly more than the competition If this is what "compromised" looks like to you, then it's no wonder nobody takes you seriously as a reviewer. You gotta look objectively at the full picture, and you've proven you can't do that. The reality is, the RAV4 is one of the best in the segment. One of the most well rounded choices of its class.
😂😂😂 ALL these other models that people are touting as superior to the RAV 4 do not have the sales to back it up. In 2023, Tucson sales were approximately 210K and RAV 4 sales were approximately 435K. Not even close. I do not like a boatload of technology in my vehicles. Kudos to Toyota for being more conservative in that way. I value reliability, not flash.
@@Childfree334 Next year the redesigned Rav4 will have all the same tech as the Tucson. They are just playing catch up. The Toyota warranty certainly makes it so you have to trust that they are reliable.

Toyota discontinued the “Adventure” trim a while back replacing it with the Woodland edition trim

My wife and I purchased a 2024 RAV4. In our opinion the best option. No regrets. Plan to keep it for a long time.
This year model is actually smaller interior than last Gen 😢 we have both models and it's actually backwards in terms of space

@ trunk is pretty decent size for us. We have 2 dogs and no issues with space on road trips.

It doesn’t have to be luxury but it also doesn’t need to feel so cheap. The turn signal and wiper stalks feel hollow and low grade. The CRVs materials feel so much better and I’m not sure anyone would consider that luxury.
I bought a RA4 Hybrid Cruiser here in AU. Absolutely love this car. Doesnt look so hitech like the new EVs. This car will last me at least 10years and it will still look good on the road. Take it from someone who previously drove the same corolla for 21years.
This is the best Rav4, and I have driven most of generations. It is great car, and can handle better than some old sports cars in the past.

My sister has a 2009, now it has over 200,000 miles. No engine or transmission issues. Starter and alternator gave up in last 2-3 years. Has started eating a little oil recently, and dealer just recommended changing oil every 3,000 miles and nothing else. Just great vehicles.
I have a 2010 @ 176k, base model. Outside of plastic rattling, this thing is a tank.

Great review. I have a 2019 RAV4 Limited, silver with the light grey/white interior and mechanical AWD, auto 8 speed. It has reached 100,000 miles with no problems. I just changed the coolant, oil, and brake fluid. I can comment that the interior has not changed with the exception of the screen graphics and the larger screen. When I bought the RAV4, I noticed that the Limited had some things found in a Lexus, such as the auto up/down windows. As mentioned in the video, the interior can be noisy because Toyota would like you to buy a Lexus to get more interior quietness.
Toyotas with the 3.5L v6 are very quiet

Watch out for the coolant bypass valve if you’re in the market. It’s like a 800 dollar fix usually not covered

I’ve owned a less than peppy Kia Forte for nine years and never felt too safe driving it on the highway. So last week we decided to buy a Toyota Rav Hybrid and I can’t wait to drive it.
So, I bought a 2023 and don't have many complaints. It's an amazing machine. Seeing this video makes me feel better because I saw earlier videos/opinions that the 2025 would be the new gen and have a remake of the grill and some other changes to the exterior look. I don't see anything in this video that shows that, so for me, my 23 looks the same on the outside at least. I couldn't afford the Limited, but the XLE Premium met most of my needs. Wheels are the same as this model too.
I've had the same thoughts, and I have a '23 XLE. Love it, but I only wish I'd got one with a panoramic sunroof.
Same here- we bought a 23 Ltd and love it.. We live in the frozen North East- New England- and let me say- the all wheel drive is amazing/awesome!! Maybe not off road amazing, but hey, I don’t need that. It’s the snow/ bad weather handling that will give you a safe feeling.

Toyota is cannibalizing itself... between all the weird ass trims between all their SUVs and Trucks with all their issues... as nice as a Rav4, Camry, Corrolla are in reliability (I worry once they redesign these)... you aren't getting much for the money, esp with the dealership markups and the interest rates... on top of the fact that Toyota and its dealers are very non-negotiable on those terms and are relying on their reputation for their past era as a reason to not bother with their customers. I rather get the other brands for the sake of getting something just as good but cheaper.
The problem is that for $46k you get a car with the same plastics and design as its base $28k version. Which is good for $28k, bad for 46k
The wife just bought a 2024 RAV4 XSE Hybrid (Silver/ black interior) with all options minus the pano sunroof and digital camera rear view mirror. A year ago local dealers were still getting $2k markups. Now they’re selling at $2k discounts(😮). We drove ours right off the lot. Our first hybrid and she loves it.
Coming from a 2012 Forester it’s definitely a very techy, quiet and luxurious feel. Only recommendation; we’re doing a post break-in oil change at 1000 mi and subsequent changes at 5k mi intervals. 10k interval is too long! Also might do some Fluid Film protectant on key HV connections since we’re in a saltwater coastal area.
We still have our 2014 RAV4 and still running pretty good.

Even the gas only RAV4 is a good choice. That 2.5L 4 cylinder is crazy efficient, compared to the previous generation's 2.5L 4 cylinder. I drive this mostly in the city, and I can average anywhere between 33.6-39 mpg while driving in the normal mode, which is phenomenal. I've leased a RAV4 since 2013, and my family love this car. It's just the perfect daily driver SUV to have. Even the base LE trim has so many nice features, like LED headlights, heated seats, Toyota Safety Sense, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, start stop technology, Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

It is NUTS! I didn’t even buy my 5th gen 4runner for that price. 🙈 I was interested in a grand Cherokee at first for that kind of price but looking back, It is the best decision I have made in my life. 8 years later trouble free on the runner. Screw the overpriced models today for “Efficiency”

The Rav4 hybrid isn't just built in Japan. It's also assembled in Georgetown Kentucky and Cambridge & Woodstock Ontario in Canada. The Rav4 Prime is only built in Japan.

I hope you will also do a video on the new updates for 2025, as you had mentioned yes badging is different and I leave the front grill, but I'd love to know more of what's changing. IM honestly very surprised it doesn't have auto folding mirrors... surley that's standard on most models these days..... I'm really hoping it has that for 2025s build, Is that an option atleast? Bought a 2024 CRV Touring hybrid that was available on dealer lot, $1K off from Honda and dealer charged a little below MSRP! Also sold my 7+ y.o. SUV privately!
Crv hybrid is actually bigger in terms of interior space. Only downside is the recent recalls
@@joek1353true but recalls happen all the time with most manufacturers and no one is exempt from that (look at Kia/Hyundai and even now Toyota). My CRV has been great with no issues (knock on wood) and hopefully, the recall repairs happen soon! So far, still very happy with the CRV hybrid!

Yeah it’s pretty good in terms of overall packaging. I doubt Toyota is going to change the next gen Rav4 very much. They don’t really need to because it’s a numbers game. Despite what anyone says, it’s about numbers because that equals money. I mean, it’s pretty sad for people who are wishing the downfall of Toyota because there are not many signs of that happening just yet 😂. Jokes aside though, I don’t even think the next gen Rav4 needs to be too different from the current one. I still like how the exterior looks, interior could use an overhaul because that larger screen placement in higher trims just looks terrible to me. It was clearly designed for the smaller 8 inch screen which they started out with. But other than that, a bit more sound insulation, less use of cheap feeling plastic (given the price) and slightly better storage solutions are the biggest drawbacks I see based on my ownership.
You must be small 😂 we have 1 and she loves it. I myself don't like the fact that the sienna has open space vs this model. The last Gen model is the one I have and it's actually bigger interior space 😂

$46k plus taxes, for 18” wheels and unpainted half front bumper, non power folding mirrors, puny horn, older generation safety, no retractable rear window shade, droning noise from the CVT, older generation Toyota hybrid powertrain, and a year away from being redesigned. I hope she got a good discount over MSRP
The worst thing about the current rav 4 is there are so much plastic rattling noises on non smooth roads at high speeds.

We traded a 2019 RAV4 Limited with 22k miles for a 2024 MB GLC. After 5 yrs, the trade value was 30k! I know I’ll might miss the reliability but I’ll definitely miss the trade value when or if I decide to trade it. The GLC is pretty great!
THE GLC will depreciate much faster than the Toyota. Benz will retain only 40% of its value after 5 year 60k Miles, vsToyota will retain 65% of its value during the same time period. If you are rich you may not care and that is ok.

My wife was going to get one of these in XLE trim, but when we test drove one we were extremely underwhelmed. It was noisy, handling felt a bit clumsy, the interior felt cheaper than her $26k Crosstrek, and peering over the squared off hood felt like driving a truck, which is not what we wanted. We just could not feel where the $38k was going toward. The powertrain was good enough, and I had heard Mazda was going to be stuffing it into the CX-50, so we went to drive a CX-50 for comparison. We loved it so much we didn't even bother waiting for the hybrid version and bought a 2.5 Premium. Even my wife, who is...not a car nut, to say the least, felt the difference. Way more car for our money, and Mazda has allegedly been rock-solid reliable for a decade or so now. Time will tell but for now we're happy our shopping didn't end at the Toyota dealership.

Did you buy the 2.5 regular gas turbo Mazda CX-50? I'm in your same shoes with shopping right now. Drove the hybrid Mazda CX50 and hated it though and test drove the 2 5 Premium+ gas turbo and thought it was great! I've not chosen yet between Honda CR-V hybrid sport touring, Mazda Cx-50 turbo gas, and I test drove a gas RAV4 tonight because they didn't have the hybrid in stock. Waiting to drive it in a few days. Honda drives best but has 2 MAJOR RECALLS, so I'm still shopping around. Ugh on Honda or I would've just bought theirs :(
@StayGold_MrsE we got the 2.5 non-turbo. We felt it had good enough power, couldn't justify the extra cost of the turbo, and wanted the presumed reliability of the N/A powertrain. I like the CR-V hybrid, with its Honda dynamics and Volvo-lite looks, but our usage cycle includes towing a ~1500lb teardrop camper on long road trips, so the weak tow rating (1000lbs) on the CR-V is what struck it from our list. My two cents: I wouldn't worry too much about recalls - a company being willing to put out the recalls and fix the issues is better than them sweeping issues under the rug and not taking accountability 🤷🏻♂️

Funny how people are complaining about how outdated the Rav4 is. Now that Toyota has updated the tech and powertrain in the Tacoma and Tundra, everyone is complaining about reliability. I'd rather buy this outdated Rav4 than 90% of the new cars on the market. At least I know it won't have any issues going 100k miles.

In 21 it was time to replace my wife’s 18 year old Camry.
I had an 11 Rav 4WD Limited with the 3.5L V6 and loved my car.
We looked at a new 22 Rav AWD Limited hybrid.
We were so disappointed with it.
The fit and finish was subpar. The road noise was pronounced and the seats were uncomfortable.
We then looked at a new Venza and wanted to buy one but the option of Tan or Brown Leather interior wasn’t available. Only 1990 Gloomy Grey or Death Black was available, so we decided on an Outback.
We know that the Subaru won’t last as long as a Toyota, so when it wears out we’ll replace it with a Lexus NX 350h AWD hybrid.
At our age that will be the last vehicle she’ll ever need to own.
I sold my Rav and our pickup and bought a new “leftover” 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the premium and technology pkgs.
Yes the interior is the Old, Outdated Death Black Leather interior. I reached out to Katzkin and they made me Lava Red Leather seat covers.
Katzkin removed the black leather seat covers and installed my Lava Red Leather with black trim and stitching.
My Tacoma will be my last pickup s as well.

When it goes to empty of dte distance to empty. You still have 2.5 gallons on reserve. Giving you 60-100 mpg before bone dry.

I always love your reviews. I checked Toyota regarding tow hitch installation, and they still say (in the fine print) that all models of the 2025 RAV4 "tow hitch installation will require disabling or removing the kick sensor for the power lift gate". In addition, Toyota seems to be underproducing the nutmeg interior color, in the mid-west US dealers only stock ugly black interiors.

My patrol vehicle is a RAV4 AWD. It's roomy. My personal car is a CX5 and compared to the RAV4, mine feels a little peppier but I think the RAV4 is roomier than mine. I chose the CX5 because it's a little cheaper than the RAV4(used car market). New one for either is nearly 40 grand.
All front lighting are LED’s, rear incandescent, I just don’t why manufacturers cheap out like that, I’ll be glad to pay an extra $25 for all LED’s those design engineers need to be schooled, it’s 2024 !!!!!!!!!!

Since it doesn't have the Camry fifth-generation hybrid drivetrain or the 3.0 safety sense, you should wait until 2026 for the new refresh or change and hopefully the fifth-generation hybrid drivetrain and safety-sense 3.0. If I'm wrong about this 2025 model, please let me know.
Toyota is resting on its laurels! Why hasn't this been redesigned fully? Last year, Model Y beat the Corolla and RAV4 to become the best selling car in the WORLD. Looks like the same thing will happen for 2024.

Would be nice to see the rav4 get the new 5th gen hybrid system like a lot of the rest of the line. Hopefully cablegate is properly resolved.
Panoramic sunroof, standard rear vents, 5 door smart key, digital rear view mirror, all auto windows, 300 hp PHEV version, soft touch materials in the rear doors, hands free lift gate, best mpg in its class, spare tire on the hybrid version, quicker than its competitors, LED fog lights, standard AWD on the hybrid and PHEV, 8 way powered passenger seat, wireless CarPlay and android auto on all trims… still makes this best in class 6 years later. Next gen will get the Camrys treatment soo it’ll be a refined version of this which will make it even better. Can’t wait.

loved my Civic. love my Accord hybrid I currently have. I was looking into the CR-V but there's no way I can justify getting that over a RAV4. Looks like I'm going back to Toyota when I'm done paying this Accord off and need to get a new ride (have an 05 Tacoma still lol). spare tire/storage, better fuel economy, more options - the CRV only looks nicer on the inside but everything else is trumped by the RAV4. I don't care about big wheels - those hurt your fuel economy anyway. I would actually get rid of them and find some 17" rims
I'm biased because I'm waiting for my 2025 Sienna XSE AWD to arrive, but I'm happier paying about $4000 more for a Sienna that is more versatile and still gets about 36 MPG.
I'm good without "low profile tires/wheels". I'm sure this RAV4, with those tires, will ride better than those with lower profile. This type of vehicle isn't for "quick handling".
I have a 2017 and it rides a little rough. I hope this one has better suspension.
I own 2021 same model, paid 45,000 Can$ before taxes and fees. Good car but few cost savings not very impressive. Manual passenger seat on a limited trim, glove box no lock and switches on driver side door not illuminated, my 2015 odyssey has power passenger seat and illuminated switches.
Toyotas getting too greedy in my opinion. They’re nice cars but the prices are crazy especially considering it’s pretty basic. I know people are gonna preach about reliability but they’re not perfect like any car.

I like this colour combo and I’m sure I’d be very happy with a RAV4 hybrid but damn, they are pricey and still, too noisy considering the price tag so 🤔 it really needs more sound dampening
features wise this checks all the boxes, as the crv is missing cooled seats which is a shame, and the digital rear view mirror: nice touch from toyota
No pano roof on the CRV ever. Europe has gotten the panoramic roof for almost 2 decades. Very weird omission. The CRV in my opinion is better looking but panoramic roof just opens up the interior…..
But the rav4s too compromised just for those two things
You’re better off sucking it up and getting a car that’s easier to live with, more comfortable, roomier, better to drive and ride in, quieter etc

If this is what "compromised" looks like to you, then it's no wonder nobody takes you seriously as a reviewer. You gotta look objectively at the full picture, and you've proven you can't do that.
The reality is, the RAV4 is one of the best in the segment. One of the most well rounded choices of its class.
3 electric motors that make 31hp? The Prime/Plug in has 302hp and has 42+ electric only range. Unacceptable by Toyoda/Toyota. Prop rods for all
The hybrid actual gets a couple mpg better than the prime if you were to drive it in hybrid only and not plug it in.
The technology in the Tucson is better in every way.
😂😂😂 ALL these other models that people are touting as superior to the RAV 4 do not have the sales to back it up. In 2023, Tucson sales were approximately 210K and RAV 4 sales were approximately 435K. Not even close. I do not like a boatload of technology in my vehicles. Kudos to Toyota for being more conservative in that way. I value reliability, not flash.
@@Childfree334 Next year the redesigned Rav4 will have all the same tech as the Tucson. They are just playing catch up. The Toyota warranty certainly makes it so you have to trust that they are reliable.
