And just to add when you’re done with those 460s they’re gonna be a good saw but it’s just good for others to know they might not want to mess with them thanks for getting that out there. I think they’re a great saw if done right

I actually am starting to like the 460 builds quite a lot, if one does not mind putting the work into them to make them right.... Sadly these went out the door faster than I was able to get a video on them.. They certainly did impress me and I will be getting more to do a 44 vs. 46 shootout.... Both models have some real strong reasons to be preferred over one another...

I ran into the same issue on a 460 bb. I used a 660 piston to get it done. The 660 piston is about .070" taller than the 460 from the wrist pin up and also has a longer skirt. This allowed me to cut a big pop-up, .020" squish and cut the skirt to get intake timing. The only issue is the 660 rod is narrower at the wrist pin so you have to widen between the wrist pin bosses. If you have a mill it's easy. Good luck!

I started to go down same path but stopped. If i were keeping saw it'd be the way forward.. but not for a saw that I'm sending into the wild.. I have to circle back w hyway on a couple new issues . Lol

Great video thank you for that information always appreciate it and I think the 660 that I got from you is great and I have heard 440s are great

You'll have to come down one day and run one. I think you might like that model. Bit lighter than the 660 and with up to say a 28" bar they are, dare I saw, a bit faster... Over a 28" or so bar and the 660 starts to walk away. And I don't think I ever tried say a 42" on a 440... I could, just haven't had the chance to...

I agree the farmertec 660 kits with hyway cylnders are awesome. But the farmertec 372 kits there are problems I have a problem with my hyway titanikel cylinder. 372 Big bore kit the intake roof is too high and the piston locating pin is exposed and the bottom piston ring pops out.

Hey Kenny... I'd like to see that... I wonder if it has been fixed. I think I have a 372 titan here I can look at. I just had a fellow build one and he didn't mention it... The saw runs pretty nice actually, except for the TRASH FT carb... It's not the worse fuel issue, but it's not 100%... But even at that the saw is a runner. I gave away my last two OEM 372 carbs and now I need one for myself so I can do a 372 build... I just never seem to find the time....

there is the problem , chinese cylinders , i have had so much trouble with these cylinders , an the biggest problem was the exhaust bolts not lining up , an i mean they were way off , i never use pattern cylinders anymore , i just use genuine stihl , i know you use them to save money , i do believe they got worse over time as more and more people were using them , i believe they couldn't keep up with demand , hence the quality dropped off ,
in my experience they went from total junk to pretty good back to not so good ,
i wouldn't mind building a clone saw , just to see what quality and build is like ,

I just hate the big bore freeport. 660 big bore ft also freeport like crazy. Good luck!! I’m in the same boat.

Actually I have some info on that.. meant to do a video. The gist is there are multiple molds for cylinders. They all vary.. not all Freeport..

@@bulletproofsaws good to know! I fixed mine with a different piston and a 2 piece head. Thank you for the info.

@@jonbobskunkworks i kinda screwed the pooch. I sell hyway stuff. And need to restock .. but in my last batch of 660 jugs. I had two obviously different csstings.. one w minor Freeport the other none.. port shape and timing different as well...
