BLUESAWS - another new saw issue and fuel can love
hey guys,
this was just supposed to be a real quick video, not that it's crazy long, but longer than I meant for it to be. be.
trying to make some videos. off the cuff as I see things. it happens daily that there's something cool that would have made a somewhat interesting video that I don't bother with and then I regret not doing it. so this is my attempt to kind of talk to you guys a little more.
you can find both the stihl and the Husky style fuel cans at bluesaws.com

BLUESAWS why pre run farmertec saws are the smart move...
Просмотров 20914 дней назад
hey fellas I can't make a video for every little flaky thing we have to fix on every saw we pre-run but I actually took the time here. surprise surprise.. and I think it's worth it to illustrate the point how something so minor could ruin somebody's new saw experience. I'm not saying we catch everything but as we've been doing it I bet you we're at 99% and very likely 99.5%. we catch a flaky is...

No love for modding g366 - ms361 mufflers..

hey guys, this is mostly just me ranting about these 361 mufflers. I don't love modding them, but it's such a necessary item for the especially for the farmertec g366s. it makes such a world of difference on that. saw that I have to do them and I just don't trust a lot of other folks to do them right. but I still don't like doing them
Farmertec G366 (Stihl ms361 clone) stock vs modded- bluesaws

hey guys, thought there might be some interest in seeing a bone stock. farmertec g366 versus a bulletproof modded one. in my opinion it takes the stock g366 which isn't a horrible saw but is without a doubt very tweaky to being a wonderful saw, and as you all know, it's the one I grabbed the most often to do work

BFD ! 💩😴
Got my 660 pro from you guys about 2.5 years ago, I had a leaky tank and I think I got a replacement one from you guys basically in one shipping day. After that it’s been just basic wear and tear parts that have been needed. It’s definitely exceeded my expectations a lot
@@nathanchild3256 really appreciate that. Those pros with tank leaks really pushed us to 100 percent pre-run model..
If I ever get a clone it will be from you!
@@tedneitzel really appreciate the sentiment
It is worth it. Avoids hassle afterwards. No one ever does quality control or pre delivery inspections that much anymore.
Absolutely worth it!
@@jasoncrow840 appreciate that Jason.. folks in the know, well....know.. I feel bad for the folks chasing their tails getting 50 bad answers on the FB groups. . we end that with at worst a phone call and more often on our pre run and inspection... Again thanks for the support...
Mantaapp bro
I want one
Just started sounds right
Used these daily brazing hard face material. I believe the pilot mixture can be adjusted on the tip.
When you say mixture, do you mean adding oxygen to that? I'll look up a manual for this thing on the internet. The only adjustment that I do is for how much acetylene the pilot's using. They can make the flame pretty big. Pretty small, I generally have it set just enough, kind of small that I don't blow it out by accident relighting the torch. Torch. I love that thing.
@@bulletproofsaws it’s been some years since I used one, but I thought you could twist the tip on that pilot flame to adjust it. I don’t remember that much soot rolling off. Maybe we had ours turned down low. Regardless, if you’re going to run a torch all day it’s a must have tool.
@@OthellPruett I re adjusted... It. Literally makes everything so much nicer . Wish I had before and after pics.. the torch and regulator rebuild guys down in Georgia did a fantastic job . Was about black from age and tarnish.. needed seals and service... For 130 bucks it came back like new... I'm gonna do another video to give them a credit
Cool so ull have soot floating everywhere and an empty acetylene tank in no time
Say you're clueless without saying your clueless... High estrogen day eh?
😮 what about leaks in fittings. BOOM😢😅
Same leak procedure as your torch . It's 101 level stuff
That's dumb AF.
Wow, I need one of these, did you buy it or make it?
Definitely bought. It's a Smith Gas Saver
@LoFi_Punk gas saver hahahahah except it's using gas the whole time so I don't see how it is saving any gas. Idiots will buy anything these days
@@MrTk6969 actually mine is weld it older than the Smith labeled units. It's a classic but same deal.. and to clarify for the high estrogen commenters, the pilot light is adjustable and runs fuel only..it's far less then the torch consumption, both cutting and even 000 welding tips... Morons will comment lots of clueless these days..must have been a rough gyno appointment...
Siiick🔥
Put some wd40 on the tube's should slide right on
Well that only makes too much sense. Duh. Actually what I think might be even better now that you mention that is women's hairspray, because then it would dry and get sticky and maybe hold them on. Little worried about the WD letting them slide back off
Does it have throttle lock
I just bought 2 of these clone 200t saws and I was wondering if you ever were able to get the carbs figured out? Bad ones vs good ones.
I have 2 holzfforma chainsaws and I love them
My kind of saws !!!!
Great video and you do good work. Keep up the good work
Thx for the update, been thinking about one of these
Glad you liked it. I've been so happy with that dumb blower, I don't know how I lived without it. Pay $650 or $700 for one and this kind of hit my price point and now I'll never go without one
Just got mine in the mail. Awesome can! Good quality. Thanks for the fast shipping!
Good deal.. we're going to run out of the steel version pretty quick, the Husky version is super nice too, and that's the one I thought would sell out first. Go figure. Glad it came quick. Had to ship that one from Montana. I should be getting another batch in the next week or two.
great video thank you , any plans to do a video showing how the new pole pruners stack up ?
I thought I had done one on the fixed length one . I have the extendable ones 8n stock and while I haven't ran one, Jess has and customer feedback is good . The problem I have is when I take one out to make a video then I want to keep it for myself and not sell it. I already have two pole pruners. I don't know that I need a third, but maybe I do. Lol www.bluesaws.com/products/bluesaws-farmertec-fp226b-pole-pruner-pole-saw?
I like it !
Holy hell, I need one!!!
Jess said they're sweet.. I'll get next batch in a week or two so I can get my grubby paws on them. I'm overdue for a new fuel can ..
Would be nice if the competitor would make the steel can version with these style caps.... 🤔
Those are killer..look really well made too..
Sweet!
Hey, I’m curious what intake boot did you swap out for? Is it the stock stihl one or is it an aftermarket one?
Glad to know what goes into the pre-flight work. Definitely well worth the extra bucks. I bought a new in box g395 from a guy that had ordered several when they first came out a couple years ago. Hadn’t been pre-flighted and had oiler issues from day one. Came with the wrong worm gear from the factory and ate itself within minutes. Your process would have caught that. Will definitely buy from you next go around 👍
Let me guess it had the nicer looking brass worm gear installed. Generally. They also include the plastic worm gear which I found to be a lot more reliable in the zippered pouch that comes with the saw. They've also been batches of saws that just had problematic oilers
That was it and also came with an extra which of course did the exact some thing. I ordered a new hyway oil pump and a couple of the correct worm gears and no trouble since. Was a shame because that brass one looked really good. But the threads didn’t engage the pump correctly so it’s never going to work unfortunately. Other than that issue the saw runs very close to a real 395. Will see how it holds up over time
Any g395 updates coming down pipe anytime soon? Be nice to have a pro version
Got anything good for sale?
Hey brother, I am ready to buy a 70cc class saw. Thinking either 460 or 461. Having a hard time deciding because I have. I clue about saws to be honest with you. So I defer to the pros. Use: We have a 700acre homestead in Montana with a ton of blowdown and thinning to do. That and lots of firewood. Nothing huge, just pine and Doug fir. What would you recommend for me? You mentioned you like the 460 and the 440? I think you said? Thanks buddy
They're both really decent saws. It's just a matter of what you want to spend. I have a hard time with a lot of the overpriced used OEM stuff.
We also have a shop in Montana. Small world. I personally will generally pick the 440 over the 460. Some other folks could make a good argument the other way. That's just the way I am with them
@@bulletproofsaws would you choose the 440 over the 461 too? And may I ask why you prefer the 440? I really don’t know much so collecting info and opinions of people that know saws. Do you guys have anything good for sale now? Montana shop? Where? How much to make my saws sing?
Ported? Or just standard build?
Stocker..other than swapping in some improved reliability parts. Not performance modded...Plan to do some modded 880 when we find time
Joe’s dyno picked up a noticeable difference when he got rid of the factory air filter setup on the 366. The filter horn is very restrictive on the 361/366 so going to a V-Stack on them is worth while but some people don’t like a clamp on filter. Great video
Thanks man, appreciate it. I do open up the horn on them just to let some air directly through. But still that stock filter is subpar. I can take my personal 366 and do some swapping back and forth and see if I notice the difference in the wood between the v-stack and the stock filter. I have a couple OEM 361s I got to get back to working on. The next big thing that I'd really love to test is a good ported cylinder. If I could get 10 to 15% with a pork job I'd be super happy
@@bulletproofsaws Oh yeah these port up really well. I have a video posted on channel of my 366 when I had the first ported cyl on it. I ended up doing a second cyl but I got distracted from the project. Watching all this 366 stuff is making me wanna jump back on it. I bet Morgan can work his magic on them.
I put money tig welding is far slower and much more susceptible to dirty surfaces. Imo if you’re proficient in brazing it’s far quicker.
Brazing does go pretty quick for me. I'm currently using flux coated rods and I'm not sure but have been thinking about swapping to Bare rods and using a separate dip flux. I'm not sure what that'll get me speed wise, but I notice with the flux coated rods, that the mufflers seem to weep flux residue out from the braze, the first few times they are heat cycled on the saw. It's like a white powder that just brushes off. I'm not sure if a separate or different flux might alleviate that problem
I split them then braze closed. Other wise I absolutely hate them along with Echo 590/620
Lol, I hate him enough to make a video bitching about it...
My buddy has a $300 harbor freight tig welder. Works great.
In the 60cc saw class would you take one of these G366 or would you go for something like a CS-590 Timberwolf? I can get the Echo locally new in box with 20" bar and chain for $250.
I'm not sure. Kind of comparing apples to oranges a little bit. I'm not a huge echo guy outside of their top handles. The 590s have never overly impressed me, but I know some fellas do port work on them and can do a heck of a job. Morgan over at Appalachian saw repair just did some tests on a ported 590 vs stock. I think he gained like 30% which to me the 590s really need. Also echoes build quality is outstanding so there's something to be said there. I think for a long -term reliable saw echoes hard to beat. But I always think that they lack in performance and the cost to get some performance seems high. Not sure how spicing them up affects reliability on them either, I just don't personally know. I'll see if I can grab a 590 and do some comparisons.
Can’t wait. I’ll need to get some dogs!! 🐶
Definitely looks like the mods paid off
Pro tips!!
Shut up and cut!!
voice to video sync is off.
My custom build is being done this week. Super stoked
I have a formatted g660. I purchased an oem stihl adjuster and I still have issues. It will turn fine without the bar going both ways but as soon as you put a load on it, it binds up and doesn’t tension properly. I’ll check about shimming
Smelter city best place to get your Blue saw
Pro and farmertec cant be in the same sentence.
You're chain is making me look good! Love the comparison
How can you call yourself bulletproof saws when they are chineasium crap?
Cause we school dumbassas without a clue who take pit shots fairly easily.. yell up to mommy from the basement for some milk and cookies, you'll feel better.
Sound like carburetor need to be adjusting it doesn’t get full power like original one
Rippers..they both sound/run good..morgan done a fine job..should be impressive broken in..i really like the italy tech 660 cylinders..one of the nicest aftermarket top ends ive seen n ran..
