  • hey guys, thought there might be some interest in seeing a bone stock. farmertec g366 versus a bulletproof modded one. in my opinion it takes the stock g366 which isn't a horrible saw but is without a doubt very tweaky to being a wonderful saw, and as you all know, it's the one I grabbed the most often to do work

Joe’s dyno picked up a noticeable difference when he got rid of the factory air filter setup on the 366. The filter horn is very restrictive on the 361/366 so going to a V-Stack on them is worth while but some people don’t like a clamp on filter. Great video

Thanks man, appreciate it. I do open up the horn on them just to let some air directly through. But still that stock filter is subpar. I can take my personal 366 and do some swapping back and forth and see if I notice the difference in the wood between the v-stack and the stock filter. I have a couple OEM 361s I got to get back to working on. The next big thing that I'd really love to test is a good ported cylinder. If I could get 10 to 15% with a pork job I'd be super happy

@@bulletproofsaws Oh yeah these port up really well. I have a video posted on channel of my 366 when I had the first ported cyl on it. I ended up doing a second cyl but I got distracted from the project. Watching all this 366 stuff is making me wanna jump back on it. I bet Morgan can work his magic on them.

In the 60cc saw class would you take one of these G366 or would you go for something like a CS-590 Timberwolf? I can get the Echo locally new in box with 20" bar and chain for $250.

I'm not sure. Kind of comparing apples to oranges a little bit. I'm not a huge echo guy outside of their top handles. The 590s have never overly impressed me, but I know some fellas do port work on them and can do a heck of a job. Morgan over at Appalachian saw repair just did some tests on a ported 590 vs stock. I think he gained like 30% which to me the 590s really need. Also echoes build quality is outstanding so there's something to be said there. I think for a long -term reliable saw echoes hard to beat. But I always think that they lack in performance and the cost to get some performance seems high. Not sure how spicing them up affects reliability on them either, I just don't personally know. I'll see if I can grab a 590 and do some comparisons.
