These videos are so valuable. I'm a visual learner and learned how to use this quickly (thanks to you). It's also great marketing to show people how easy it can be.
Hi. I recently purchased one of these recorders, and while I was waiting a few days for delivery I watched your playlist and found it very helpful. Particularly the confirmation that you can connect an Android phone to it for extracting audio files. It's a really neat bit of kit. Nice one!
Love your videos and are extremely helpful. I have a question about the mute button, when can and should it be used? I can't find any videos on this subject. Thank you.
I'm SO glad this series is up! I'm ordering mine in a couple of weeks, so in the meantime... I hope I'll have my first little demos made after my Orba 2 gets here and my guitars get set up. I appreciate you, man!
Hey I just got my Tascam dp 008 ex last week, and have been enjoying your instructions. But I am stuck on something, and I can't find it in the tutorials. Can you tell me how to use the "Silence" track edit function? I want to erase only a small segment of an individual track, so I can re-record over an error. If it's on one of your videos, list it so I can find it. Thanks. Steve
I will be watching too... Even I do not have the unit and I do not plan to buy.. I really like you showing all the features and I like computer free production.
I viewed your RUclips lessons on the Tascam DP 008EX. Thanks, great info. I have a Tascam cassette based 4 track from the 80's which has served me well, but is starting to exhibit transport drive issues. So I am now looking at either the Tascam DP 008Ex or Zoom R8 as a purchase. Not too much in depth info on the Zoom available on RUclips, certainly not to the extent you covered Tascam. I am mainly concerned about the learning curve/display/button pushes needed to get a track down for Zoom vs. Tascam. Basically ease of use for each. Do you have experience with the Zoom R8 or an opinion of one brand vs. the other? Thanks......John
Is there any way to record two guitars and a vocal mic on 3 tracks simultaneously with this? Can you do two line in plus a mic in, or is it either/or? If not you know of any pocket model that has these minimum features/tracks and can record 3 tracks at once?
Just grabbed one last week and it's great I thought it would be harder to use then what it was as iv never used anything like this before.. it's pretty straight forward...only thing I'm not sure about is getting the tracks of the memory cards I got the Tuscam as I hate working with computers I thought I could put the SD card in my phone upload the tracks then put it back in the Tuscam but it doesn't quite work that way iv mastered a couple tracks and saved them as wave files so hopefully I can figure out the whole process
I was thinking perhaps you might have an answer for me, I’ve been trying to record with a ukulele that has a Piezo pickup. It just seems no matter what settings I try there’s this annoying ticking sound that keeps coming through over the notes. I don’t know if this is because of needing a certain cable or if it’s an internal setting that needs to be changed??? Both of the ukuleles I’ve tried are excellent one has a built-in Fishman the other one is a Godin. But this has been my constant problem, so I’m hoping and praying that you might have an answer for me???
Even if the track was in exact time, it would be a heck of a job trimming it and inserting it to match exactly. But I wouldn't say impossible. But no, there's on board way to sync.
Thank god I found your channel. I just got mine today. Very informative for the mentally inept like me . Thank you
Cool! I'm glad you found the channel too.
Thanks
Helluva an educator, without people like this gentleman, people like me would be in trouble, learning stuff like this…

so if you record in stereo does that take up 2 tracks of the 8 availble
Hey how do I turn the internal condenser mics off
How would I copy an existing song to an empty/new song?
Will the SD card from a different recorder load and play?
Sound samples?

What stand are you using? I need a stand for my new DP-008EX.
I cobbled it together out of a piece of 2x4, a small piece of plywood and a little carpet.
Thank you 🙏
Is there any way to synch an imported track to a previously recorded song ?
Even if the track was in exact time, it would be a heck of a job trimming it and inserting it to match exactly.

DUDE-life saver thanks I have more specific questions now-who can I call??
Does anyone knows how to create a CD after finish a recording on a Tascam?
