1:08 - how do you 'magically' progress from Input Settings to Gain?? No button pushes, no clues, just "And now - Gain Settings" - doesn't show anything different in the screen. I'll have to look elsewhere to figure this out.
Perfect timing, thank you. I am recording the drums for my band this weekend, using the Tascam (we haven't the funds for a studio plus engineer!) and will be using the same idea of three or four external mics running through a mixer deck, into one input (mono) and a pair of condenser mics as overheads, running through a "2 into 1" adapter into the second input. Thanks for the advice about checking the switch is set at mic/line as I forgot that toggle option, and advice for running the external mics at the low setting when assigning them. Your tutorials have been so useful in getting to grips with this great little machine, so thank you.
@@StudioonaStick Yes, the phantom power works with the "2 into 1" adapter with both condenser mics plugged in (which is why I have to use those mics directly into input B, because the mixer desk doesn't have phantom power)
As i said in another one of my comments (on your videos).. These are so super helpful and useful. I have 2 other bigger work flows, the DAW on my laptop have become the main horse that i ride.. But i got this Tascam DP-008EX to record what i do on my iPad, and i'm finding through your vids that its capable of so much more. I have a Cajon, and Harmonicas, Guitars, Carinets.. tons of stuff.. and this little thing is going to be so useful in recording acoustic stuff on the fly.. Again.. thank you so much.. Keep it coming. Peace, God bless
Thank you. It's very generous of you to do this
Thanks for your tutorials - clear, concise, and, of high quality. Very helpful. Nice work on 'em!
Thanks for watching!

You're welcome!
I'm very interested in how the phantom power works with the adapter.
Have you tested it?

Cool! Good to know, thanks.

🤨 Wow, Recording B sounds like totally different performance than Recording A! It doesn't even sound like the same rhythmic pattern.
