This is great! I wanted to try and get this is to my phone! Great videos and I’ve learnt more than struggling with the manual! Informative, bit of humour and comprehensive! Thanks
An absolutely essential video!! Thanks for the tips, exactly what I was looking for & saved me a truck load of time compared to the way I was gonna transfer individual tracks!!
I have not had a laptop/computer for about 10 years so I’m looking for one. It’s going to be for music/RUclips . I prefer a laptop . What would you recommend as far as memory etc. something affordable since I don’t own stock in a computer company. I am a 1 man band so it’s just playing my instruments through the tascam dp-008ex thank you in advance
If you mean just listening to music and browsing, Chromebook. If you are going to do any actual audio file editing/producing, it's basically useless for that. If you are just going to be storing a reasonably small amount of files and moving them to cloud storage and back and forth from the Tascam, a Chromebook would be fine. They're cheap, fast and maintenance free. I used one for over 2 years, even working this channel. You can get a cheap Windows laptop for about the same price, but in that price bracket they are so hobbled that they're almost more useless than a Chromebook for production.
I have the Tascam DP-008…..& not the DP-008EX. I followed your instructions & have failed to see the files in my iPhone. I’m using the correct lighting to usb adapter. Any help??
I like you info, but here is a question. I recorded 3 hours 28 minutes of a band practice, 18 songs with several minutes in between each song. Is there a way to take each song copy it and send it to the band mates without mixing and mastering each song? Your videos have helped me navigate the tascam DP008EX but I have not tried this idea.
HELP!!! Using iPad Pro software version 15.6.1. Got the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to use with the DP-008 EX. I get Error message “Cannot Use Accessory DP-008: This accessory requires too much power.” 😮
"Master Track Too Large" - Just at the point where I had (finally) finished mixing a very, challenging tune and... it will NOT Export. I cannot give it a MIXSTR number and am not sure how to deal with this. Any solutions ? Would certainly be appreciated...
The SD card is full - is there a way to empty it ? I've just deleted a ton of other songs I've been working on, or have already mixed and exported, but it makes no difference to this particular tune which I've just Mastered. I also cannot export the individual tracks.
I wrote to you under another video. I've put the file of a song on my computer. I have Windows 10, but when I want to put it into media player it can't find the file. DP008EX was connected to port G on my computer and it keeps saying it can't find G. If I connect the device, I can play the song on media player, if I disconnect, no go. I've disconnected it properly. I tried copying and pasting the file into media player, but it says it can't find it? I do have Audacity, but I don't use it because I really don't know how to use DAW's. Ultimately, I want to make a cd ( have to convert to mp3) or put the mp3 version of my songs onto a scan disk. I need to put the songs on formats to send to people. CD or scan disk. On youtube, they say you can use windows media player to convert the wav to mp3. After I did that I wanted to burn the songs onto a cd or put them on a scan disk. Audacity supposedly can do it also. Maybe I have to leave it connected when I copy the file and then try to place it into the media player library?? I am 67, so this is all new to me!!
Why shouldn't I make MP3's?? Iwant to put videos on social media. A WAV file is better? Isn't it too large? They don't sound different@@homelesshendrix
Love this series!
Thanks!
I'm enjoying putting it together.

Does the tascam use an microSD adapter?
Is there a way to duplicate a song or export tracks between songs in the Tascam?

Did you have the DP-008 powered on? Probably a silly question but I'm curious. Also, did you get it to work eventually?

Never make a CD from an MP3. In fact, don’t ever make an MP3.
