This is the single most educational cooking video I have ever seen. I learned more in 11 minutes than a year of trying to make curries.
Same here,Mike
Right! This is my go to everytime
Me, too. He's thorough, encouraging yet succinct.
Yep, totally agree, best video yet
EXACTLY! I ran across this video about six years ago, have since made it more than a dozen times, and not only is it the best chicken curry I've ever had, better than my local Indian restaurants, it's so incredibly easy.
THANK YOU, Chef! We moved to the country in the northern US some years ago. We literally traveled 200 miles for curry that was "so-so" at best. I've tried and failed many times over the years to make a decent curry. Now, tonight, I sit here very happily too full to move because I ate so much curry. Thank you, thank you.
I'm Mexican American, and hardly ever eat Indian food I used this recipe last week. My wife and kids loved it and want me to make it again, looking forward to using more of your recipes thank you brother.
Thanks for following. keep cooking and keep sharing :)
ALLUPINYA Verdad friend? We're also Mexican/American and absolutely LOVE curry! God Bless
Maria Zavala I cook this all three ways, my kids like the fried pepper curry the best. Though it's hard to find curry leaves, where you from?
ALLUPINYA Were from San Diego, CA 😊 Y tu?
My family is Ecuadorian and they don't like spicy food or Indian food. But I love both so much... the aromas and flavors are so comforting and delicious!
This guy makes me feel like a great chef and I haven't even started cooking yet!
🤣🤣🤣
I feel ya ! :)
its the voice for me..
😆
You can tell he is a kind person just from the way he speaks from the heart.
my food always has little less salt, but i am a good judge in adding correct amount of salt in one go and camera picks white color against black background and over exposes while adding .
less salt is always better for good health
Vahchef - VahRehVah this is probably the best curry lesson on RUclips. I watch this & grandpa’s kitchen channel. I’m made a perfect curry my friends & family loved.
Hi ! What cream you are using please?
I absolutely love this recipe and have shared it with a lot of my friends. Quick and easy and sooo delicious! I could never get the depth of flavor I wanted when trying to make curries, turns out I wasn't cooking the onions long enough. Thank you so much!!
The best chicken curry I have ever cooked and tasted! Thank you for sharing
My new year's resolution was to cook different meals than I'm used to for my family. so glad I tried this recipe!! My Neigbour is Indian and used to send over her curry chicken leftovers to my husband, we moved a year ago and he missed her food lol he was so happy i made this. my son told me I should be a chef...woot woot!
Wow, you made this so simple for me! Love how you explained the chemistry to cooking it really helps. Great job!
I love this video it's so perfect & I love how you showed different styles in the end! Thank you so much! My mom is Guyanese so she always makes curry chicken with roti & I never watched her make it. I'm going to try this tonight!
I am 54 year old man. I could not even make dal ten years ago. I recently started cooking after watching your videos because my wife said "cook it yourself if you want to eat it".
I tried this recipe - it was amazing! It is the first time my family tasted this - my wife and kids LOVED it, especially the 3rd version with coconut milk!
We dont get curry leaves here :( so I made it without it, but with all the other ingredients.
Me, my wife and my kids say a Big Thank You to Vahchef :) :)
Thanks to India for giving this to the World.
I followed your recipe while watching you make this and it looked exactly the same I was I was in shock how well this turned out! Thanks!
This man is a true Food Lover..May God Bless You!!
Thank you, Chef. I live alone in the UK, and have always struggled to get my 'everyman' curry just right, but finally Ive done it, thanks to you. Subscribed.
I am from Hawaii and the smell from cooking this is amazing! It reminds me of my university roommate and a later dear friend-of course, mines is nothing like my friend’s mother’s cooking. 😍 thank you VahChef for the awesome tips and steps. Love your channel!
Indian cuisine has become my favorite. You have taught very well, Sir. Thank you!
out of all the method i have searched..yours hands down is the best and simple.
I'm Chinese who is now living in Europe. My boyfriend and I tried the "restaurant curry" with prawn at a restaurant in Prague and we loooooooooooooooooooved it! We even ordered one chicken curry today and it occurred to me that I should make this by myself, so I'm here finding this video so educational. I'll definitely come back again after my trial.
I made this restaurant style last night - excellent. I had some heavy cream leftover so I used that instead of creme freche or something like that. My wife really loved it.
I used as much oil as you did in the video - it was more like 4 tablespoons. I'm going to try the other two versions this week - I love green chilis!
Chef, thank you so much. I did all 3 and people loved it! I love your teaching style. :)
This is amazing. I love your videos, Chef! I can't wait to cook for my friend from Kerala. And I'm from the Philippines!
i have been making amazing plate licking curries this way for nearly 30 years, credit to this man he knows his craft and despite a vast knowladge, i still learn form these masters, i experiment with flavours all of the time. my finest home made curry is my own recipe. chicken tomato and coriander, served with garlic coriander boboli bread and plain soft boiled fluffy rice.
Hi. Just fresh coriander for the spice?
Chef Vah, this was the most straightforward educational video on chicken curry I have seen. I've learnt more in 11 minutes than 5 years of cooking. You showed me the basics and how to customize it. I can't thank you enough. Much love
I must agree, I tried your recipe and it is fantastic. Thank you Vaschef.
I am. maniac for curry and being born in Jamaica does not help..this is an awesome video about curry...Thanks Chef!
People need to know everything you are teaching, there are so many people out there who would eat good food but they do not know how to cook it! You brought Heaven on Earth !!! May God bless you !!!
I'm making this curry right now.
I always come back to this super easy and informative video.
I added cilantro cause it's what I had. Split it in two cause we have a coconut allergy in the house now. Added cream to his. He loved it. Bith were amazing.
You taught me more in this video, than several books I read on cooking curry! I cooked this recipe and My wife and I love it! Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You! : )
Started watching this recipe at work today then went to your curry powder recipe. Googled the closest Indian market and bought all the goodies to make it fresh. Just served this dish to 6 people making the two, creamy restaurant style and spicy fried. Oh my lord it was a hit. I also love your passion in the kitchen. My lips are on fire but can’t wait to have more. Thanks again chef!!!!
Simply one of your best videos... I learned so much... Thank you...
Thanks. Happy cooking

Bryant Fernquist I agree. Basics rre the best.
lost count how many times I've watched this video
@@vahrehvah cream name please
I have been following this way of making curry for 6 and a half years now. I remember watching this video back then and trying it. I fell in love with curry and enjoy making it myself. I didn't sub to the channel then and just found your channel again. I just subbed to the channel and will have to follow up on all your recipes you have here now. My wife passes away back in 2016, but she loved the curry when I made it. Our daughter on the other hand is just too picky and really doesn't care for curry. That's when I came across a video you have today I know she will love. Thanks and keep up the Great Content and recipes. Thanks again
watchin him makes me happy 😂
“Wow” every time it gets me. I love this guy.

As a bachelor living alone this is an amazing meal. I've always loved curry chicken. Thanks for this video. Subscribed!
I just cooked the first version for my boyfriend and he is absolutely amazed ,he is talking since 20minutes how he loves my cooking.thanks for this great recipe , that was super helpful I am in germany and not every ingredient easy available here, but with this I could buy everything at the supermarket on my street. I roasted some pine and hazelnut bits and put it on top and I made some yogurt with garlic on the side. I know no one would do that in india but it was really good . ❤
I like your recipe's because, behind every steps u explain some tips saying the reasons that i have checked so many chefs just say do this or, that but no explanation of 'for what?'........
Mamunur Rashid that is inspire to cook thanks
Thank You! My curry chicken FINALLY came out right!
My humble share here chef. I made this several times before and I took some of the gravy and added it to tinned chickpeas in a frying pan. Added dried chilies, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and balanced the seasoning. The result was absolutely wonderful!
Thank you chef for the basic recipe! Without it I wouldn't have been able to explore.
Great food. I wish I could eat it
👍😍I love love love this how to video...I believe I’ve made this before but without the curry...so all I have to do is add curry seasoning. I don’t like adding cream or coconut milk so I won’t add any. Also I prefer chicken with the bones in, it adds more flavor. I love the gravy. Thank you. 💞
i really need to stop watching these videos at night, lmao im so hungy now i cant sleep
Even I have the same problem😂😂
I am American learning how to cook Indian Food. Love Indian food, thank you so much. Your teaching and instruction are wonderful.

Excellent instruction for beginners. Exactly what I'm looking for.
Thank you Chef! I made this for my family and everyone loved it! The curry turned out thick and the aroma was amazing! I served the basic curry without doing any of the 3 variations that you have shown in your video, it tasted amazing!
+Vivian Lai Ling Awesome.
Thank you! I've been trying for ages to make curry. Finally when I used your recipe as a base, I made something half decent!
I tried this way also, using curry powder off the spice rack in Store, chopped up green and yellow Onions, added a can of seasoned chopped Tomatoes and followed the steps. Looked, smelled and tasted great. Thank you for showing us a simple way with not some many ingredients.
This was amazing!!!! Thank you for teaching us such simple ways!! I'm obsessed with Indian cuisine ❤😁🇨🇦
Amazing work mate. Made some excellent chicken curry. Many thanks! I'm proud of myself. :D

I enjoy watching you cook and taste your food,
You make food look sooooo GOOD!
I love chicken curry recipe, I ate it many times at Indian restaurants here in Jordan, it's tase seduced me to try make it at home, so I looked for more than 10 videos and none of them includes an easy way for a non Indians, even for someone who never cooks before 😂, I find your video and they way you make the recipe seems easy to me, and your face reaction when you taste it is the result I was waiting for to be sure that this the recipe I want to prepare, so I tried it today and this is the first time in my life I try to cook, I would like to thank you millions times because it was the exact taste of chicken curry I used to eat in Indian restaurants 😍😍😍

Sanjay, You are just awesome. A total beginner a month ago is now able to cook delicious food, because of you. Just because of you. Lots of love
I've made this curry so many times since i first watched this video.
It never ceases to impress guests and give me a smile to make.
Thank you so much, sir, for the recipe, techniques and fun.
Hey Daniel since you've made it soo many times thought i'd ask you this question. In the ingredients for tomato it says 4N. What is 4N? Should i use 1 whole tomato? i'm a beginner cook and have no idea what that means. thank you
Jason, I never quite figured it out myself. And I'm honestly a simple at home chef myself. I just enjoy cooking is all.
I typically alter or adjust the size of the meal using how much tomato and onion I put in. I use 1 whole tomato for a simple 2-3 person meal. 2 for 4-6 people. Adjust the ingredients to taste for the larger meal. How much chicken too of course.
You can also adjust up for more sauce in your meal, which some folks prefer.
The tomato is one of the easier ingredient to play with to change the meal size without altering the flavor a lot.
@@danielw7126 this will help a lot. really appreciate the reply. i bought my ingredients today so i'll make it tomorrow. i just bought one tomato and one onion so i'll see how that goes. wish me good luck. hahaha! i've watch this video like 8 times. I will def use your suggestion as a guideline as far as increasing the portion as i def want to make sure i have leftovers. haha! thanks again

Hi
Loved these recipes! Can't wait to try them! Thanks for all the explanations as to why you cook something the way you do!
I so appreciate your teaching chef, thank you! Years ago, I learned these foundations from you. I have been still using these basics to cook chicken curry. Each time we enjoy it a great deal whoever I cook for. Especially my daughter is a huge fan :)
It should be mentioned that you don't want always golden-brown onions.
Sometimes you only want them to be translucent: sweet and soft!
I AM SOOO HUNGARY NOWW!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH
Literally saw this vid 2 days ago cooked it today 5-6-18 good stuff. First time cooking a curry and from scratch at that. Thanks for the vid.
Oh my, you're good! You show how to do this right and easy to follow. You're a treasure, like your calm voice and style. Your smile also makes the food turn out great I am sure of it. :)
