Thank you for this video, choosing a white has been driving my partner and I crazy. We decided on Swiss Coffee for our walls and Simply White for our trims.
I have a new build and was thinking of painting all walls in the house swiss coffee. It is open concept. The great room and kitchen are open to the east with large picture windows and slider in the kitchen going into a screened in porch. The floor is a medium brown with grey shades. I am staining the kitchen cabinets a rustic brown/grey. The kitchen quartz is off white with grey and gold veins. The couch in the great room is white and taupe and I'm wanting to accent with green pillows. The area rug will either be a brown shimmery shag or a plush with grey/rust/white colors. We haven't picked out the rock for the fireplace yet but need to soon. I plan to have all trim stained in a brown shade (going old school). We have trey ceilings in the master bedroom and great room and need to figure out a coordinating color there. The master rug is brown with off white swirls and a shimmer of grey. Also, is doing a wall in an accent color still a thing or is it out? Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks.
Accent walls are still a thing and look great when done properly with consideration to other areas of your decor. We especially love wallpaper and murals as accent walls. All colours, pretty much. Hardwood is like jeans, mainly neutral options that everything will go with unless they are super red or orange, for example. Please stay away from grey floors, they are already dated. I especially love medium toned hardwood flooring.
I intend to use BM Swiss Coffee, in the elevator cabinet, which is made of MDF lining. I think it is so light and fresh, not stark white for that purpose. The cabin has two mirrored bus doors and I will not place any extra mirror. Now, I'm looking for a white color for the ceilings in my house to pair with BM 951 Pale Almond on the walls and iroko (like teak) wood floor. So, I came in your excellent video. I appreciate any suggestion! Thank you!
Hi Amalia. I'm not familiar with Pale Almond. However, if you've watched a few of my videos you will notice that I only use about 6-8 whites. Check out my BM videos to see my most recommended whites and then take a look at those whites to determine which would be the best to match in your space with the Pale Almond. Something more creamy like White Dove would be where I would look first.
Claire, I am going to paint my kitchen cabinets Swiss Coffee...I love Kendall Charcoal for the island but it may be too dark, could I use Chelsea Gray as a more mid tone gray?

Hi Alka. I love the contrast between Swiss Coffee and Wrought Island! For the walls, if you want a light neutral you could use Swiss Coffee. You already know that it works with Wrought Iron and it will obviously work with Swiss Coffee cabinets, just know the look will be slightly different because the application is not the same.

My home is a new built. I had all the interior walls painted in Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee at 75% strength. I have the same tone on the ceiling, trim and baseboards. I have built in bookcases on the north side of the room with a large window in between On the opposite east side of the room is a patio slider with windows across. With that in mind I am really undecided which color to paint the bookcases. I was thinking of Gray Owl or Revere Pewter. The room gets morning sun and afternoon shade. I ordered a light gray sofa, slate blue chair and 2 Charcoal chairs. The flooring is a mid tone maple wood. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks you!
If looking at the paint colours only, of the 2 you mentioned, I prefer Revere Pewter with Swiss Coffee. You'll have to see what that looks like with the fabric of your sofa though because if the light gray is a blue gray, it might not look that great.
I don't see why not. I've only painted concrete walls once and just note that they suck up a lot of paint so you will likely require more than if you were painting primed drywall.
I want to paint my walls Swiss coffee, but I’ve heard not to paint the trims a brighter white because it will make the Swiss coffee walls look dirty. You say that it goes well with brighter white trims. I’m confused.
If you are concerned, than paint the trim Swiss Coffee too. You know it will work because it's the same colour, but because the paint will be a semi gloss and where your applying it is on different surface, it won't look exactly the same.
@@ClaireJeffordConsulting thank you so much! I actually got a sample of Swiss coffee and it seemed a bit too grey for me. So I went with Winter Wheat instead. It’s more of a neutral beige and more my character.
No. Benjamin Moore mixes its Swiss Coffee (OC-45) paint using a different formulation. Although other paint companies offer the color Swiss Coffee (such as Sherwin-Williams, Valspar, and Dunn Edwards in your case), each company uses its own proprietary formulation for paint colors.

I have a small and narrow living room and i want paint it with the color that make it look bigger. Please give me a suggestion for the tiles color, wall and ceiling paint colours. Thanks!
Hello Denis. There are different ways you make a room look better, but paint typically is not one of them. That is a myth. You want to focus on lighting and the scale of your furnishings, as well as using decorative elements such as mirrors.
I just had Swiss Coffee painted on the walls for my family room & connecting kitchen. However, SwissCoffee in my South -East facing room looks more like a brightwhite than a warm white. I thought it would be more creamy. The painter used the BM paint code & bought the paint from Kelly Moore. Do you think that using KM paint changes the true color of Swiss Coffee ? My island color is going to be painted with SW Shitake & the counter tops will be a gray quartzite. Any suggestions for the kitchen door color and door frame? My husband thinks it's too white so I'm looking for some paint colors forcontrast but not too dark. Thanks for any suggestions to warm up the space.
Hi Susan. I always recommend you go with the brand of paint from where you select the colour you want. The painter may have gone elsewhere to save money. A lot has to do with the person's experience on mixing paint and the small savings is not worth the risk in my opinion.
Does anyone has experience using Benjamin Moore for DIY? I’m planing to do the paint myself, but heard that Benjamin moore’s paint isn’t very friendly for DIY.🤔 Although Swiss white hits me, but I’m afraid it would be too hard for myself to use the paint. Would be really helpful if someone can share some point of view, thank you 🙏🏼
Many homeowners use Benjamin Moore paint, not just professionals. Ask at your local BM store for advice on best practices for painting, depending on what are of the home you wish to paint and they can guide you.
I think it’s gonna be green honestly. I painted my living room pure white (north facing) and some walls pulled blue and others green. Since there’s not enough light it will reflect what’s hitting it easier. Out on my porch I have a tree and it reflects on the wall even though it’s not close to it at all. I really hate it lol picking whites for north facing is hard. My sister in laws house is north facing but only has one window where nothing green hits the walls and chantilly lace looks great. Idk how it works so good but it does. Swiss coffee has green undertones.

What is the undertone of Swiss coffee? looks yellow to me
It is a warm greige, so definitely not a true white by any means.
Does anyone has experience using Benjamin Moore for DIY?
I’m planing to do the paint myself, but heard that Benjamin moore’s paint isn’t very friendly for DIY.🤔
Although Swiss white hits me, but I’m afraid it would be too hard for myself to use the paint.
Would be really helpful if someone can share some point of view, thank you 🙏🏼
Many homeowners use Benjamin Moore paint, not just professionals. Ask at your local BM store for advice on best practices for painting, depending on what are of the home you wish to paint and they can guide you.
Never used Swiss coffee I’m inclined to use it
Thank you
Awesome!
Not yet
Nor have I, but hopefully soon!
How would Swiss Coffee look in a north facing living room? What undertones will I likely see?
I think it’s gonna be green honestly. I painted my living room pure white (north facing) and some walls pulled blue and others green. Since there’s not enough light it will reflect what’s hitting it easier. Out on my porch I have a tree and it reflects on the wall even though it’s not close to it at all. I really hate it lol picking whites for north facing is hard. My sister in laws house is north facing but only has one window where nothing green hits the walls and chantilly lace looks great. Idk how it works so good but it does.
Swiss coffee has green undertones.
