I've used both colors in my house. I use White Dove on the trim of a room with good lighting, it faces southeast. In a northwest facing room with less light I use Simply White and it works well there. White Dove looked a bit dirty to me in that room. Simply White is warm but feels like it finds the right balance between modern and traditional. White Dove, on the other hand, definitely feels more traditional to me. It has a "lived in" look to it, which doesn't look "dirty" in the southeast facing room, but it definitely looks like it's been there for a long time, whereas Simply White have a fresh/new look wherever I put it. For some reason, White Dove makes me think of Jefferson's Monticello, like it belongs in a house built in 1800.
In our open concept kitchen, living, dining room I used White Dove on our kitchen cabinets. They were professionally painted and I believe they used a pearl sheen with some sort of hardener in it for durability. I am painting the rest myself, using White Dove semi gloss on the trim (crown molding, base trim, door trim, etc.) and White Dove flat on the walls. The difference in the sheens gives the appearance of a slight contrast and I didn’t have to worry that the trim color and the wall color didn’t “go together“.
Thanks for the review! May I ask which kind of paint did you use? I am planning on using BM Ben interior or regal select but heard simply white is super hard to cover and may take more than two coats (the original wall color is a warm off white)
I've painted all my millwork (base boards, crown, wainscoting, spindles and ceilings) White dove. It was one of Candice Olson's favorite color and I fell in love with it when she was on Divine Design. most of my walls are Silverplate by SW except kitchen.
White Dove is my go to for my upper kitchen cabinets and trim in my home. It looks amazing with SW Repose Gray; Mindful Gray; Sea Salt and Behr Park Avenue.
I find that White Dove is a great solution for a whole house white. Simply white looks more yellow in southern exposure. Thank you so much for your information!!
Great video, Thanks. This is very helpful as it focuses on just a couple that one can compare and not get overwhelmed. I am looking at cool whites at the moment, so I’ll be watching all you similar videos.
Hands down white dove. We used white dove in our kitchen which gets morning sunrise and we both love it. It’s perfect for my cream bisque kitchen. I’m glad we choose white dove. If anyone can recommend another white for the front part of our home would be great it gets a ton of sun from 12:00 noon till the sun goes down.
Thanks for these reviews! I'm a residential painter and have worked with these colours numerous times, but trying to pick a white for my walls has proven to be the hardest decor decision I have ever made. I started with Swiss Coffee 🚫🚫🚫! Chose because I used it for a client's renovated basement and loved it... But it was walls, ceiling and trim plus much different lighting (almost no natural). Swiss coffee in my space read yellow and just yuck. Then after a few samples, chose vanilla milkshake. Loved it as I was painting as I could see it eliminating the yellow immediately. Over the next couple of days I realized the vanilla milkshake reads green in my space! NOT what I'm going for. I then decide f*#k it, I'm going with Chantilly lace. I've done it for clients and always love it. Started cutting and realize that it's making my freshly painted (old, coved, 50s popcorn) ceiling look yellow/beige! I'm not prepared to repaint the ceiling with an oil primer + finish to get it looking whiter so I'm back to the drawing board on picking a colour and at a complete stand still. My BM dealer suggested Oxford white, I've got the sample on the wall and it's looking almost identical to the Chantilly. I'm going to need more of a contrast for the ceiling situation, so I'm looking at white dove, but feeling so uncertain and I just want to put my furniture back! Lol. I'm loving the white walls trend, but not the choosing the right white part.
I want to use simply white on my trim , doors and baseboards. Could I use white dove on my kitchen cabinets and not have them appear slightly more yellow against the trim and doors etc. So simply saying…would they pair together or clash?
I chose simply white for my kitchen cabinets and white dove for the walls.... not sure what to use for trim? Originally thought simply white for the cabinets and trim, white dove walls...will that work?
I picked white dove. I got a yellow gray pearl house. I was looking for a sharp simply silk white. Going forward I would stay away from any thing with yellow undertones.
We have an open floor plan and I agree with you that White Dove is the best call for the Kitchen Cabinets. If we go with White Dove on the Cabinets, then should we do White Dove for all the molding/trims/windows in the kitchen too...as well as in the family room that opens up to the kitchen? Please share your thoughts as soon as you have a chance as we are kicking off painting as we speak! Thanks!!
We used White Dove for our kitchen cabinets. They were done with a slight lacquered mix (is that a word) to give them durability which gave them a soft, beautiful sheen. With our house being very open, we ended up using White Dove on all the trim and doors (semi gloss) and even the ceiling (flat). A lot of the decision was based on me being "over it" in trying to pick whites that worked together. It ended up being a wonderful decision for our home. Very beautiful! The walls of the open room are BM Collinwood which looks great with the White Dove in our south facing room, but this color can change drastically with changing light, but luckily for me, I like them all. I wish I had found your videos sooner. It might have saved me (and my poor husband who had to live with me during that time) some stress, I enjoy them very much!
Haha, my husband would feel the same but he is convinced that I'm the only person in the world who struggles with paint decisions. He says, "They all look the same. Just pick one!" Lol
OMG This has been sooooo helpful for me in choosing the cabinet color! I precisely had the question which white blends well with other kitchen fixtures.
We're installing a calacatta gold marble backsplash with calacatta Lucia quartz countertops by Trends in Quartz and SW Balanced Beige walls. We'd like a brighter white cabinet and trim color. Would Chantilly Lace work or would we need to use something like White Dove? Thanks for the awesome video!
I think I would agree with Rebecca Robeson, Design Sessions, with the Simply White for the casements, doors, baseboards... I do like the Dove as well but feel it a bit gray for what I am doing in the remodel. Thank you SOO much for weighing in as well!🙏 Blessings to you from the great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Washington! 💛🖤💛 Stacy's Artful Heart
Hi James! After sampling simply white, cha tilly lace and white dove we pai ted our entire small house with sinply white. White dove looked too yellow. Love the results! We are getting new kitchen cabinets which I want to paint either Ppg Olive sprig or Bm october mist for some co trast to that white everywhere. What are your thoughts re which will look best would our simply white everything else? Maybe I shouldn't go as dark as either of those.
I like a contrast between walls and trim, especially since I have some wainscot. I painted the walls SW Antique White because I have some antique white furniture. I was lightening up from gray. Which white for the trim and wainscot should I use?
Considering white dove for north facing bedroom. The trim is honey oak and carpet is light gray. I haven’t seen any info about honey oak trim, just white trim.
@@jamesec1949 I'd like to paint the entire inside of my home. I did it several years ago with a color called Bone from Kelly Moore I believe. I would like to change the white that the builder used as I swear I see pink. There is a place online called Samplize where you can order 12 x 12 peel and stick paint samples and they claim to use the manufacturers paint. I've spent a small fortune ordering those. I haven't done any whites yet.
I banged my head against the wall for nearly a month trying to figure out which colors to use in my north facing condo. I wanted color but I wanted "barely there" color. Finally, I chose White Dove for the walls and Chantilly Lace for the trim. In the bathroom which has black and white granite and faux white and gray marble tiles, I used White Wisp (a color more people should know about) which I really like. My place feels light, airy, cohesive and very comfortable with White Dove on the walls. It feels like everything works with it. The sofa is white and the TV console is white but they are different shades of white and they both work with White Dove. I have brown and black kitchen with an awesome marble/glass backsplash and it all works with White Dove. Finally, my living room rug is blue and green and my drapes are shade of green as well and it all works well with White Dove. Thanks for these videos as it really helped me narrow down my choices and I'm happy with the results.
I am looking at white dove and simply white for my top kitchen cabinets (with Peale green on the bottom). My kitchen is fairly dark, with only one North facing window. I am leaning toward white dove, but am wondering about wall colour. Currently I have simply white on my walls and I am worried it will look very yellow next to white dove. Thoughts? Should I paint cabinets and walls white dove or will that look too flat?
Hi James is it okay to use white dove on ceiling with white duck wall or your have other suggestions for ceiling Dilemma please I want a ceiling color go with neutral wall colors.? Please help
I wanted White Dove for Edgecomb Gray, but my wife don't like the yellow as it reminds her of a room where someone smoked too much! Will Simply White work with it? Or is there another color better? I will have October Mist or Olive Sprig as accent walls. Thank you
A lot of green light reflects from the lawn and the forest just beyond it, into our kitchen… I’d like a warm(ish) white, but I don’t want the room to look any more green than it already does. Can you recommend a solution to this? Should I go with a white with a pink undertone to cancel out the green? I stumped.🤔 Please help🙏🏼
This perfect timing. I’m choosing bet the 2 whites and still confuse here.. my coach is white and I have a grand piano black and darks wood floor in my living room. My living room is facing west.. which one do u think between the 2. THanks
Your videos have helped me immensely when picking a white color for my kitchen cabinets! I'm painting the cabinets this fall and then having the walls, ceiling and trim in my kitchen and family room professionally painted next spring. I've decided on White Dove for kitchen cabinets and Maritime White for my walls. I have one question - for ceilings and trim, should I stay with White Dove or is there another brighter white that you suggest? Since these two rooms are open to each other, I don't want too much going on. Thanks again!
White dove gets all the rave but I sometimes see people say it looks grey dull and dirty sometimes in less lit rooms. I'm not sure what to do i want to paint my whole vaulted ceiling shiplap and scared it's going to look grey white.
I have been using white dove on my doors and trim for years. To me is not too bright because it’s a softer look because of the gray undertone. Looks great with taupe.
So White Dove is better for cabinets but Simply White is better for doors and trim? Shouldn't those two areas match? I need to choose a color for doors and trim asap. We will probably be going with white cabinets from IKEA so hopefully won't have to paint cabinets. Would Simply White work next to IKEA cabinets? We have a built-in wall unit in our living room. The walls are Ballet White. Should I paint the wall unit White Dove if the baseboards are Simply White or use White Dove on the living room baseboards and Simply White for trim everywhere else? Thank you.
@@thepaintpeople Woohoo! Great video. Last May, we painted the walls of our new (old) house Oxford White with Revere Pewter on the trim and wood floors. Gives our 1814 house a cozy feel that still feels light. Loving the videos!
Struggled to choose among many whites, but I kept eliminating ones that seemed to have a tint "statement", ie pink, yellow, blue, grey. I liked the LRV and freshness of Simply White, but it kept reading yellow, especially in my north X northwest rooms, and really so in the low light living room. I was striving for a "whole house" white, including walls, ceiling, and trim. My place is converted Victorian Triplex, so you can imagine all sorts of weird, crazy, disorganized, chopped up, and flawed trim, too many doors, odd mismatched windows, no symmetry, some textured surfaces (ugh), and so forth. I'm striving to unify the whole mess. White Dove seemed my best choice due to it's "griege" undertones, but it wasn't crisp enough. So today, I have the first coat of White Dove on one room-BUT-I had it cut by 25% so it's similar value to Simply White, but without the yellow. (I tried samples of 50% because the paint store said I wouldn't see the difference at 25%, but it was too stark white and lost the complexity.) Wish me luck!
Hi Happy! Yes, Simply White does have that yellow undertone so I see why that might be an issue for you. And White Dove does have that surprising gray undertone, but is still pretty warm. If you crave the crispness, have you considered BM Chantilly Lace? Or BM Super White which has no undertones? And GOOD LUCK!
@@thepaintpeople Thanks so much for your reply. I wanted a warmer white, but very subtle, and for whole apartment. (Maybe all the apartments eventually, so needs to be easy to clean and touch up after tenants.) And I took you to heart about the complexity of White Dove working in a kitchen against, in my case, maple cabinets and stainless steel. I have a neutral white in my living room and it reads stark and steely, so for this reason, and need for several coats, I ruled out Chantilly Lace and Super White. So far, I'm happy with the 25% diluted White Dove, at least in the bedroom. We'll have to see about the lowlowlow light living room, when I get there.
@@Trenchant468 did you end up panting the rest of the house ? Curious to know how it turned out. I have a lot of north facing windows and debating between white dove and simply white for the walls and trim.
@@OGCJ10 Hi So far I only did one room-a ground level bedroom with a bay window and yellowy pre-fab oak floors. Note well, I diluted White Dove by 25%, making it lighter. I love it! It looks good in every light condition, and it has a very rich, creamy, peaceful feel to it. It never looks yellow or grey, or griege. I would not have thought that a white would make me feel happy but this does. I bought 12x17? poster paper and painted each one fully with each different white I'd narrowed down to, taping them all over the apartment, and that helped me decide. Both the paint store and a professional painter told me I wouldn't see the difference at 25% and should go 50%, but I absolutely could see the difference. 50% washed out all the good qualities of White Dove, and 25% gave me the benefits of the higher LRV's, but retained the complexity. Good luck and tell me how it goes for you, especially because I don't know when I'm going to get to the living room where light is the poorest-blocked by an enclosed porch...;(
@@Trenchant468 I was actually thinking of diluting swiss coffee by 25% but that was before seeing how white dove looked on the wall. I will do just that and let you know how it turns out. I appreciate your input.
Another great video! I went with simply white, walls and trim. Had to rethink my usual after the move from ME to FL. It’s so hot down here we have our blinds down most of the time and I needed to brighten this place up. It certainly does and it looks amazing 😃
@@thepaintpeople I wanted White Dove for Edgecomb Gray, but my wife don't like the yellow as it reminds her of a room where someone smoked too much! Will Simply White work with it? Or is there another color better? Is there a Sherman Williams color that is similar to Simply White? I will have October Mist or Olive Sprig as accent walls. Thank you
I love White Dove! I originally painted my guest house Revere Pewter. I just couldn't live with it. It was just to dark and green looking and it made the rooms look smaller. I had it repainted White Dove and it brightened up the room and made the place look happier and brighter and beautiful. It goes with everything. I used the same color with a higher sheen on trim and doors and it is fantastic. The Northern side of the home looks a bit more yellow/gray but its bright and rich looking.
Hello! Do you considered White dove to be a warm white or a cold white? My house is going to have lots of light and I don’t want the space to look cold. Thank you!
Thank you for your educational videos, James! I would like an all-house white trim color for kitchen (western exposure) cabinets to the ceiling blending into the crown molding, base and crown moldings, doors, and inset plantation shutters. I like White Dove (in photos, especially!), but it doesn't look so hot as trim in a windowless laundry I have with Edgecomb Gray walls. Do you still recommend it as one of the best options for this application? (floors are medium brown oak, soapstone counters, and backsplash either the same soapstone or a coordinating glossy white subway tile). So often, I see White Dove on cabinets, but the rooms don't have cabinets to the ceiling blending into crown molding, and/or they don't have crown molding at all. If you have time for a reply, thank you, if not or it's missed, I understand.
@@thepaintpeople oh, my--I'm ashamed to see I asked this Q a year ago, you replied, and then I didn't! And, hear I am again...with paint STILL not chosen and rewatching your wonderful videos. I have Samplize tester swatches and bought cans in the past. The Samplize swatches are nice, but the sheen doesn't help me as much for trim. But, just in case you all see very tardy replies, White Dove appears dingy in my house--especially in the windowless laundry room. I found out my husband bought BM satin WALL paint--not a trim paint, so I suspect that's affecting it's look. I thought I had settled on Simply White for cabinets and trim, but your video says it's better for a minimalist look. Not sure my home is in that category--more of a Modern Colonial that will eventually have simple shaker cabinets and walnut accents (island) and soapstone. Heading to the paint store now and watching your videos until I figure it out!
I am trying to choose between White Dove and Chantilly Lace for my walls. We are doing my small living room and adjoining dining room over and I am worried chantilly is just a bit too stark for me. I have White Dove kitchen cabinets and I love them. My floors are stained darkish brown so wonder which one would be better. I am worried White Dove will look yellow on walls. I think our house is a Northwest facing. Gets lots of light in afternoon. Help. Thank you
Hello! I have low light in my apartment, and a shade of white on the walls currently. I’m thinking of simply white for my dining room bench I’m installing, but I was hoping you could help between the two colors! The floors are wood brown floors. I’m also stuck between the finishes of aura or advanced. Thank you so much in advance!
I want to do White Dove on my kitchen walls. Should I do egg shell finish? It’s an old house and walls have some smoothness issues. Also for kitchen trim, should I use Simply White semi gloss or white Dove semi gloss
I would never use anything but flat paint on walls, especially if the texture is imperfect. A paint store once convinced me to use satin. I hated it because it accentuated the texture and made the walls look super busy. Eggshell would be better but flat paint makes the walls look like soft velvet. Just my two cents worth. It's a matter of personal preference.
We also did our kitchen cabinets in white dove. When comparing simply white vs white dove, we liked the more warmth that white dove provided which went well with the warm hardwood floors.
Yes! Always a challenge in choosing. So many options. I would also highly recommend BM advance paint line for cabinets. High quality and becomes a solid enamel with enough rest time.
What white do you suggest if I already have Simply White on the trim in our south facing family room? Do I stay with Simply White for the walls? What white would tone down the yellow? Looking for suggestions. Thank you!
The easy answer would be simply white on the walls, yes. If you want to tone down the yellow on the trim, then you'd go with something a bit warmer on the walls, like a Cloud White perhaps.
I just decided on White Dove! Simply White was a close second. What really helped me to make the decision was putting large paint swatches (from Samplize) right next to my white permanent fixtures (window frames, fireplace tile, toilet, bathtub, etc) and seeing which color was most harmonious with them.
Thank you for your videos! What if you are doing your kitchen island in BM Mysterious with a white quartz countertop (with Gray veining)? You recommend to stay with AF paint in another video. Which white would you use then on the outer the cabinets? Thank you!
Nice! Either of these whites would work but I'd lean White Dove, which will contrast Mysterious but still is grounded in its undertones to work with the gray veining.
Have a bit of a white mish mash going on here. Trim is cloud white (I think), we painted all the walls Simply white when we moved in and LOVE it. Kitchen cabinets are stained almost black which looks great with the new quartz marble look countertops and white walls but the cabinets need painting, desperately! They show the scrapes and dust like crazy! The backsplash is a cool white and will probably need to be changed so, should I go White Dove or Simply White on the cabinets? Which would look better? I could go a bit crazy and paint them Wrought Iron or Hale's navy but they need to be scrubbed down almost every day. The dust drives me crazy.
There's no best, but it all depends what you like. I like Antique White, Natural White, Whisper White and Lexicon white. Do you prefer a warm or cool white?
If I have BM White dove in all interior walls, what white color for Kitchen cabinets could be? or should I go with Simple White or continue with white dove in kitchen cabinets too will be ok?
Debating these two colors for my living room and dining room (which are adjacent via french doors. Planning to paint the trim and doors black, our hardwood floors are medium to dark color...based on that info would you suggest White Dove or Simply White?
@@thepaintpeople Thank you! I'm OK with the boldness of the contrast, more concerned about avoiding whites with strong grey/blue undertones AND whites with strong yellow undertones...

Okay so if I put simply white in my trim could I use it with white dove on the wall with that look good because I do have white stuff in my cabinets because I do have granite and it's a little too healthy and black and looks very nice but my question really is if I use the White sub in the wall could I use simply white in the moldings what to give it is good to contrast thank you
Okay I just noticed I messed up I use White Dove on my cabinets and white the van my walls the question is can I use white stuff on the walls and then you simply white on the trim with that look nice
Hiya from Spain. I have a wooden Cabin, 5 mtrs x 5 mtrs square. I am having the timber frame insulated and plaster boarded so the walls will be all plaster, ready to paint. The tiles I have chosen for the floor are a large square light beige porcelain tile, neutral and modern. I want a very white, crisp, modern feel for the paint colour. I am going BM paints and would love a recommendation for the Best White for the entire walls. My interior style is going to be very wood and natural materials with a MCM twist. My short list of BM Whites would be Chantilly Lace, Simply White, White Dove or Super White. The Cabin will get a lot of natural Spanish sun. Please give me your advice. Love this Channel, its super informative and I never knew there was so much to know about Paint and colours. Cheers
Hi Prajakta! It could? It’s a little tricky as there can be some variety in quartz. It’s like pairing any whites together, one might highlight the undertones of another. White Dove has some warmth, so if the quartz is cooler/gray, then the creaminess of the White Dove might come through which you may like or not like. Best bet, is to compare a few white paints next to the quartz and see how they respond relative to it. :)
I have White Dove walls in eggshell, trim in semi-gloss Chantilly Lace and Simply White satin on cabinets with a clear coat of satin poly on top. It looks very good - the clear coat of satin does something magic for the cabinets. And that my friends, is how you deal with it. It looks really good. Now I just need to scrap the &$#& popcorn off my ceilings and paint them....but what color? :-O
I've used White Dove on the ceiling with the White Dove walls. You'd swear it was a different color because the light hits the ceiling at a totally different angle. You can't go wrong.
Can you please tell me more about the clear coat of satin poly on top of your simply white satin cabinets? I am deciding on cabinet color now, painting them myself, and this is the first I have seen about applying at poly top coat. It sounds interesting. I would also love a photo of your kitchen, if that's not asking too much. :)
@@ES-bn1bi A couple more things, I sanded lightly with fine grade sand paper and used a sprayer for the white paint (inexpensive Homeright brand - worked fine) and applied the clear coat with a foam brush. You have to take the doors off and let them dry flat. Waiting for it to dry between coats makes it take a long time but it's worth the effort.
@@ES-bn1bi I used water based latex paint - Benjamin Moore's Simply White with the clear, General Finishes water based polyurethane clear coat in a satin finish on top. Nothing else. You can't go wrong.
Hi Sunny, pairing whites can be tricky, but of course, it depends on taste. Likely, White Dove's gray undertones will come out next to Simply White and that might bring out the yellow undertones of Simply white. Your best bet is to compare the two side by side. :)

Please share your thoughts as soon as you have a chance as we are kicking off painting as we speak! Thanks!!
What did you end up doing ?
Wonderful! I think both would look great but I'm leaning October Mist, which is also a little lighter :)
I like a contrast between walls and trim, especially since I have some wainscot. I painted the walls SW Antique White because I have some antique white furniture. I was lightening up from gray. Which white for the trim and wainscot should I use?
Would you ever consider the color of the flooring when picking white dove or any other color for walls? Thanks, I love all your helpful videos!
Maybe my yellowy oak floors are why I didn't like Simply White on my NXNW walls? I love yellow, but it read yellow, so I went with diluted White Dove.
Sherwin Williams Alabaster vs Benjamin Moore White Dove or Simply White would be good video.
Keep an eye out for it. It's in the pipeline.
Considering white dove for north facing bedroom.
The trim is honey oak and carpet is light gray.
I haven’t seen any info about honey oak trim, just white trim.

Dove white from BM is a true classic. It is and always has been my go to trim color. Very versatile. Did I mention its warmth?
Hi James, do you see any yellow undertones at all when using White Dove?
@@MP-yz6sb Yes, it’s not a true white
@@jamesec1949 ok thank you. Ugh the struggle is real trying to find the right white that will work in my home.
@@MP-yz6sb What are are you painting?
With my dark, north facing house, I prefer Simply White.
Same! Simply white is beautiful in north facing!
Hi James is it okay to use white dove on ceiling with white duck wall or your have other suggestions for ceiling Dilemma please
I want a ceiling color go with neutral wall colors.?

I wanted White Dove for Edgecomb Gray, but my wife don't like the yellow as it reminds her of a room where someone smoked too much! Will Simply White work with it? Or is there another color better? I will have October Mist or Olive Sprig as accent walls. Thank you
Hi there, I answered on another page.
Both my living room and bedroom face north west, which white would work best for each or both?
This perfect timing. I’m choosing bet the 2 whites and still confuse here.. my coach is white and I have a grand piano black and darks wood floor in my living room. My living room is facing west.. which one do u think between the 2. THanks
I think White Dove would provide a better backdrop for your white couch!
Can you suggest a white that would go well with a bold pink sofa and lots of green accessories please
Can you make a video on working the color fan. How our the colors on a strip?
Simple white is a beautiful color.which white should I go for Chantily lace or white dove in a small laundry room
White dove all the way!
Hey Pete! 😎
Thanks
Would white dove walls and simply white walls/ceiling/trim go together? Thank you
Yes according to Kylie’s M Interiors
So White Dove is better for cabinets but Simply White is better for doors and trim? Shouldn't those two areas match? I need to choose a color for doors and trim asap. We will probably be going with white cabinets from IKEA so hopefully won't have to paint cabinets. Would Simply White work next to IKEA cabinets? We have a built-in wall unit in our living room. The walls are Ballet White. Should I paint the wall unit White Dove if the baseboards are Simply White or use White Dove on the living room baseboards and Simply White for trim everywhere else? Thank you.
can you please tell me which white should I choose for ceiling and another white for doors and base board
I love Oxford White and I don't know why no one seems to talk about it. Simply white is too yellow imo, and white dove too gray.

I live in a one bedroom 🛌 apartment with the living room facing northeast which white paint should l use lm having a tough time deciding
How would the walls painted in simply white and trim of white dove

For an open concept home, which will you recommend white dove or simply white ?
Hi Bb, when you say White Dove doesn't look so hot, what do you mean exactly? What don't you like about it? That will help me with my recommendation.

How did you choose & how was the turn out? ?
I want to do White Dove on my kitchen walls. Should I do egg shell finish? It’s an old house and walls have some smoothness issues. Also for kitchen trim, should I use Simply White semi gloss or white Dove semi gloss
I would never use anything but flat paint on walls, especially if the texture is imperfect. A paint store once convinced me to use satin. I hated it because it accentuated the texture and made the walls look super busy. Eggshell would be better but flat paint makes the walls look like soft velvet. Just my two cents worth. It's a matter of personal preference.
I'm doing my cabinets in White Dove!
We also did our kitchen cabinets in white dove. When comparing simply white vs white dove, we liked the more warmth that white dove provided which went well with the warm hardwood floors.
@@chriswilliams8821 Happy to know that. The toughest part of doing the cabinets is choosing the color!
Yes! Always a challenge in choosing. So many options. I would also highly recommend BM advance paint line for cabinets. High quality and becomes a solid enamel with enough rest time.

What trim color best simply white or Chantilly lace?
Good move! Compare or despair! Gotta compare!

Will white dove look good with white quartz countertops
Hi Prajakta! It could? It’s a little tricky as there can be some variety in quartz. It’s like pairing any whites together, one might highlight the undertones of another. White Dove has some warmth, so if the quartz is cooler/gray, then the creaminess of the White Dove might come through which you may like or not like. Best bet, is to compare a few white paints next to the quartz and see how they respond relative to it. :)

Depends on your personal tastes!
If I use a creamy off white on my kitchen cabinets, do I use the same off white for my walls or do I use a more crisp white?
It all depends on how creamy you go. I think anything with an LRV under 80 on the cabinets, you can switch it up and put a crisper white on the walls.
