Ferrari 360 air filter replacement + strange battery issue

  • Today we do what is probably the simplest DIY maintenance on the Ferrari 360 - replace the engine and cabin air filters. No issues with that, but when I walked out to the car to begin the 5 minute job, I was greeted by an angry car that didn't like being without a battery tender for a couple weeks. Then when I went to drive it, I almost lost all my air in one tire due to a valve stem getting stuck open! Mamma mia!
A few of you reached out on Instagram saying you had the battery issue. Anybody else here? What about the tire valve one? These cars are sensitive when it comes to battery stuff. I was mainly worried that I fried my instrument cluster. Let me know.

Ah yes, learning the Ferrari lessons the fun way. :) Glad to see it was just parasitic loss on the battery. Beware that having the battery go completely flat a few times can shorten the life of the battery.

Nice to see you putting out more vids Gabe ol' boy! Glad to see the flickering dash lights was a minor and easy issue to correct and that nothing shorted out.

Glad to see there wasn’t an electrical concern, and it just required the CTek after two weeks. I would have been worried also seeing all the blinking lights and fear of cracking the door glass.
The salt finally washed away on the roads here. After winter hibernation, I was pleasantly surprised with a first crank start about two weeks ago! She was on a CTek all winter with an Interstate battery freshly replaced around September last year. All good!
Looking forward to ur alarm repair video if u happen to document that.
    All the best!

You and me both! Wasn’t a pleasant sight but I think we’re good. Glad you got yours started right up. Congrats to us on a first successful winter storage!
Not sure when I’ll get to the siren. The oem part is over a grand, and GM makes one nearly identical for about $50 so I’ve heard, but I need to see if I’m comfortable putting the GM one in and what the risks are. That’ll be for another day!

@@gabeorlowitzracing8273 ahhh, so it’s the actual siren itself and not a module for it. 🤔 As much as OEM or high quality upgrades are always preferred, yes, definitely worth researching the GM one for disposable money. It could always buy u time to find a clean example salvage etc. BTW, I had good luck ordering a few things from Eurospares with super fast shipping across the pond for OEM bits and bobs and much better prices if u haven’t tried them.

Using the immobilizer is the problem. If your car is parked in the garage, DO NOT LOCK it. The immobilizer is the greatest parasitic draw in 360/430's. You have insurance. If someone steals the car from your garage, that's what insurance is for and you've got bigger problems if someone manages to steal a 360 out of a closed garage.
