It was beautiful to hear what Sean's dad John Astin said about how "no one is a piece on a chessboard, every human interaction is sacred," and extremely touching that Sean tries to make all the fan interactions about the fans. Not that I think, as a fan, that everything needs to be about ME. Just that Sean Astin is an admirable person and I need to incorporate his philosophy into my own interactions with people.

It's nice to see actors like Sean recognizing the hell the crews are going through on films. Actors have long hours of course, but much of it is sitting and waiting and often what is best called 'academic' work. So while actors may suffer 14 hour days from the time they have to wake up to the time they are allowed to sleep, much of the crew is there hours before and hours after, often frantically grinding the entire time.

Oh my gosh I absolutely loved this episode. Huge Sean Astin fan. Does he have his own podcast at all? I could listen to him tell stories all day. Thank you for having him.

Wow it’s so cool and interesting to hear Sean’s perspective and experience of the filming. Like Dom said, it does resonate with their characters a bit, how each of them talk about filming LOTR. It was so sweet and heartwarming to see Sean, thanks for bringing him on the podcast! Looking forward to more LOTR guests! ❤️🙏

Sean Astin's role in LotR was so powerful, and his sincerity, apparent work ethic and ideologies really seemed to have blended into Samwise to bring that role to life so vividly, I really feel as if I am just watching Samwise be interviewed.

Big fans of you both! Mr. Dom! Spending a couple hours watering your garden can be a hassle especially in the heat of the summer. A way around that is to set up some irrigation lines around your garden to cut down on the watering time and leave more time to enjoying the beautiful growth! It may sound daunting, but the process is very simple! I have a few videos on my channel about setting up some simple irrigation. Cheers! - The Lone Star Gardener

46:20 given the strikes on now, this is really fascinating to hear. Pushing people to work those hours is crazy, and creatives are exploited to do it because they love the work. Kudos to Sean for carrying on his mother's legacy by helping to lead the SAG talks!

Christopher Lee's life story was incredible. From WW2 RAF to acting and metal singing etc. He did it all. That's how you supposed to live. At 100%.

Sean Astin was a major part of my childhood (Goonies, Encino Man, Lord of the Rings, etc) and I always enjoy seeing and hearing from him. Thanks for doing this and reminiscing. Took me back for a minute.
