The fact that there is not a yearly lotr celebration like star wars blows my mind
definitely LOTR is so much better a franchise
There's Tolkienmoot and there may be one in NZ, assuming it's still going.
There are also some in Germany
There was one at one point in time. It was called RingCon and would happen annually in Bonn, Germany. Many actors attended the event over time. It eventually died. Not sure why but I assume the interest faded out as more and more years had passed since the movies had come out. It later got a revival when the Hobbit movies came out and was then called HobbitCon but it only lasted three more years or so. I remember Craig Parker (Haldir) was a regular attendee. I also saw Aiden Turner and Dean O'Gorman (Kili & Fili) at a panel one time.
Then there's the annual Tolkien Days event in Geldern, Germany which is the largest Tolkien themed fan event in the world. Though it is more dedicated to the author himself than the movies in particular. I went there a few times and had a great time. There's lots of reenactment and cosplay going on
Because it’s hard to get a good Frodo costume anywhere
Gollum 20yrs ago still looks better than most cgi today
And the acting of Andy ..none better. He was the only interesting thing in andor
absolutely
The whole Movie does😂😂 Its like Technology moved backwards in the "Film Industry" 😉
yeah, its cus people stopped using miniatures to compliment CG@@stanleyfranks9891
Look at Andy's non-stop smile & happiness. They've picked the best humans for the best trilogy.
yes! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
People who watched the recent Atlanta Comic Con panel with the 4 hobbit actors have been assuming that Sean must be estranged from the group/not as well-liked by the others due to apparent "tension" between him and the other three. But here, you can clearly see how wrong that assumption is. Elijah and Andy obviously adore him; Elijah really shows what a great friend he is when he pats Sean on the shoulder and gives him silent support when he's reliving the emotionally intense memory of working with his late mother. And Dom & Billy recently had Sean as a guest on their podcast. They all still love each other deeply.
@@12classics39it’s also that he’s a quiet a bit older than them, but he’s definitely one of them
@@goblin9193Billy is the oldest of the 4 hobbit actors.
Elijah is so supportive and always compliments his workmates so much. I love it.
He just seems like such a lovely person.
Indeed. Look at how he pats Sean on the shoulder in silent comfort as Sean relives the emotions of performing such a difficult scene with his mother. That’s a real friend.
Andy is amazing, such a shame they didn't give him a Oscar for his brilliant work!
I’m thinking he deserves a Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s acted, voiced, motion-captured, and directed. Literally a one-man expert in so many aspects of film-making. The Academy was woefully ignorant about his role in motion capture. That oversight, together with them overlooking Ian McKellan for Best-Supporting actor, annihilated any respect I ever had for that group.
The laugh of Elijah is just toooo contagious love ittttt love pure love💖
Andy is a brilliant human being sitting there like someone who's very happy to be here. Lord of the Rings is so special, the books and films are glorious you can tell these guys know it.
yes! I loved his smile the whole way through! this cast couldn’t be better!
Elijah's laugh is amazing
31:16 Actually, Frodo's initial reaction to seeing Gollum is to say, "It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill him when he had the chance." Gandalf has to sort of correct him and give him a new perspective. So it's not that his character naturally "sees the good" in Gollum.
What's great about Frodo is his humility. He absorbs wisdom from Gandalf and carries it forward. He absorbs courage from Aragorn and carries it forward. He absorbs loyalty from Samwise and carries it forward. Frodo rises above his character weaknesses without letting pride get a hold of him.
Great insight.
That's why his the ring best guardian
“Frodo’s initial reaction to seeing Gollum”
The conversation happens in chapter two “The Shadow of the Past” while Frodo is still in Bag End. Gandalf tells him about Gollum.
Frodo actually seeing Gollum happens much later.
this was a wonderful share! thank you!
The fact its panel about 20 years old movie and its sold out and people still love them and they are truly friends speaks for itself
It's amazing to me how great these guys are about this. They happily tell the same stories to the fans at each convention. They still enjoy each other's company. That is rare.
Sean needs to write a book about his experiences. He's a natural storyteller.
He did- “ There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale”. I met him while he toured for this. Great times.
He literally published it a year after the films wrapped lol
Every time I listen to Andy Serkis' real voice, I find it harder and harder to believe that he was Gollum. Voice acting doesn't even adequately summarize what that guy did when he brought a voice to the words of Tolkien's tragic anti-villain; he TRANSFORMED.
Yes. Thank goodness for his cat.
The audience laughed every time Elijah sweared lol
I'm not chuffed over the moderator anxiously trying to continue his program, not at all realizing that Sean Astin gave the audience Gold! He gave everyone a personal insight of his work process, and the moderator was clearly just waiting to interrupt.
He’s not a good interviewer. I’ve watched other panels he’s done.
why the gent is looking at his note cards while these Legends are sharing is beyond my understanding
So glad I was there. So glad to have met Sean and Andy. Great memory.
I would absolutely vote for Sam for president in a heartbeat!
The Shire was lucky to have him as mayor for 49 consecutive years.
@@12classics39 Exactly.
Didn’t know that Andy Serkis is directing an animated version of “Animal Farm.” I’m going to have to catch that one.
The greatest books ever made about walking.
This was a good panel, thanks for uploading! Just when you think you've heard all the tidbits, Sean drops that his dad auditioned for Gandalf.... :)
Samwise the Brave 2024!
"that is brilliant, I really like that. I love this." - Andy Serkis about his cat coughing up a fur-ball.
Fantastic, thank you for uploading! Amazing sound quality
You're welcome. We always do our best to get quality audio.
Love these three fantastic actors ❤
1:45 Well, Sam _did_ serve as Mayor of the Shire for seven consecutive 7-year terms….
Had the opportunity to meet and listen to the 4 hobbits at a con outside Chicago. Outstanding guys and true nerds that really bond with the fans!
If you get a chance, ABSOLUTELY spend the money and meet these guys!
May everyone have as much joy as Elijah Wood when he's giggling manically.
the segment was too short!!! I can listen to these three all day ❤
I met Sean's mother, Patty Duke, once working for a news service when she was promoting her book. Afterward, she was up in the cafeteria reading a book at the table next to me and one of the cafetria workers when apesh.. and embarrassed her. She was very polite and patient, however.
I really don't care about the questions, I could listen to Sean Astin stories all day.
Love these 3 so freaking much
I love that Sean shared that story about working with his mom. I remember that TV movie, which I saw a few years after it first aired and I was terrified of it.
These 3 guys are awesome. The catalogue of media from movies to TV shows they have all been involved in. Heck Sean Astin's first movie was The Goonies...
Frodo as a spiderman will be great
Nah
i *LOVE* these guys so much! 🙏🏽❤️🔥
Awesome love these guys
Hopefully, there will be a Fellowship reunion with all 9 members
Thank you for uploading this!! Love these three!
wow Love these guys. LOTR was my most anticipated film at that time of my life (I was 25). The trilogy was so epic.
Sean has great taste in Hey Dudes
That poor cast is never getting rid of lotr...
I love their happiness about it. :)
Really enjoyed this - good to have a recent one.
Love this❤️
QUESTION: Will they ever go back to the Shire set for a visit??
Aww I just want to give little Sean a hug
Loved this. Great guys
Always KNEW Andy Serkis was a jazzhead... def got that energy about him
Thankyou so much for uploading this!! I loved it!!!, being in England we dont always get to see these parts from the comic cons in America 🥰
😊 love to you all
The Ring wouldn’t have been destroyed if it weren’t for all three of these blokes.
Exactly. All 3 of them deserve the praise. Not one more than the other. More people need to admit that. They're so quick to slander Frodo and put Sam on a pedestal as if he did it all by himself. Some even say "Gollum saved the day" as if Frodo and Sam deserve no credit. It was the contributions made by ALL 3 OF THEM that doomed the Ring.
Love the colour-coordination/book ending of Sean and Andy's shirts, with Elijah in the middle
Pretty sure Elijah Wood still has the ring.
the ring never got destroyed after all
It is touching to imagine what would have happened if Sméagol had survived. I'm sure he would have sailed with Frodo, and hopefully found healing in the Undying Lands.
I don't see that happening. When you look at the condition Bilbo was in once the ring was destroyed. He "only" kept the ring for 60 years or so and lost all his senses. Gollum was possessed by the ring for hundreds and hundreds of years. I think he would've gone fully mental or he simply would've faded like the Ringwraiths
Lol no. They don't just let anyone go there. Gollum, who was never a good person to begin with (there is a reason he *immediately* killed his friend upon laying eyes on the ring), never had a prayer of a chance, wtf.
Bro, its a movie. You know... movement on a screen.
@@user-lu1bg2vm8h bro, to many people it is far more than just a movie
@@leonardocucchiara4782 yes a fantasy. Its a movie.
Elijah can try his best to look old with that mustache but we all know once he shaves it off, he's back to looking twelve again!
I’ve been very good at doing Sméagol/gollum’s voice since I was a teenager
I felt nostalgic for LOTR and i thought ok i saw it more than 100 times literally 😅 so im gonna check any new material and 💥 here I'm smiling of seing them sparkle time. Professor Tolkien and Peter Jackson thanks for everything ✨️
Ik from Argentina and i was 12 yeaes old with fellowship came to cinema ..nobody spoke about the books but now i read it to my son !!!
its crazy that this cast is STILL appearing on panels
really hope we get the fabled 25th anniversary edition
wow, listening to Sean talk about acting with his mom reminded me so much of Patton Oswalt.
Did Andy do the voice as it was filmed, or was it added in after?
why is the host using his phone while they were speaking
Checking notes
Sean Astin talks over everyone any time I've seen him
Elijah looking good with that mustache.
Nop 😄 but he's amazing anyways
It made me think of when Michael Biehn said (about his role in The Abyss): "Everyone who thinks they are the least bit macho always has a mustache." 😅Sorry but since then mustache doesn't work for me anymore.
@@bernice6867 Frodo, my lad, don't listen to the haters like Bernice. I'm gonna grow one too. Michael Biehn says it's ok if you're macho (at least, that's how I understand that quote).
@@beanwithbaconmegarocket You know hobbits can't grow beards right? Otherwise Frodo and Sam would have had a beard in Mordor. Michael Biehn doesn't like machos but thought his character was one that is why he grew a mustache. Can you actually grow a beard?
@@beanwithbaconmegarocket Maybe more along the lines" People who want to give the impression that they are tough grow a mustache to show it."
Elijah's laugh kills me 😂😂
Elijah ,shown and andy are best.annnd ian and vigo and orlando.elijah is so yong yet ,god nless him.he is so gorgeous.
Does Sauron not like making public appearances?
Love to watch this but it has to be hard for our fellows to always talk about the past over and over
It’s when I’m he says he’s got two in him slinker and stinker lol
The fandom for LOTRs seems to be growing still after all these years.
If Sméagol beat Gollum for good.
Elijah: We’ll take him back to the Shire to meet his family. He was a stewar hobbit after all.
Sean: He lived in a cave for years. Can’t we leave him with the orcs in Moria? Do we have to bring him back with us?
Andy: He was a hobbit, and you never gave him that.
I’m dying 😂
How did I not know Frodo is from Iowa lol
BIG BLUE
Samwise for president
When are we getting a Andy serkis George Lucas documentary.
perhaps the defunct Chateau should be used to reboot The Shining with Hobbits?😂
Samvais Gamgi 2024
Andy has an amazing head of hair, hot diggity
What about the STRIKE? ate they done?
No. This was recorded before the strike.
35:20 i like how elijah said the next guy better be 7 years jokingly, but it was his 1st year… and 1 looks the most like 7 out of any number 🤷🏻♂️
I can only hear raphael and mumble talk 😄
Dude!!, just close your eyes and just listen. The host sounds just like norm from tested.😂
when the fool said, let's go away or get off child abuse , my annoyance turned to auughhhhhh
WIGS.
Sean's actor journey starts by his Mom fake scolding him to get him to cry on set lol
Sorry to correct Elijah, but Jar Jar came first. And do Pixar characters not count as fully CG characters?
i believe the context was a fully CG character in a non animated fill. i think what they mean is a 100% motion capture person in regards to Elijah, Jar Jar was CG but he was not a full motion capture 100% of the time in the phantom menace, most of the time it was only his head & hands b/c of budgeting from gorge, also he wanted to keep the movements of the actor who played Jar Jar as intact. that changed in clone wars but, the fellowship & twin towers was already out by then.
He does wear wigs !!
Rings Of Power is not Lord of The Rings.
Not gay enough
I wish I could care less about a friend as Andy and Elijah did
The host, ... omg... always reading...checking his notes,.. bro, do some conversation... join them, actual conversation....
yeh he def came across as a diversity hire and not coz of his hosting skill
First fully cgi char in an movie is jar jar bings from starwars :)
First performance capture :)
@@Dilmahkana thank you for explaining to these fools what Elijah met
Rescuers Down Under by Disney is the first fully CGI film. Years before Toy Story.
The first CGI character in an Live-action film is the Stained-glass Knight in the Young Sherlock Holmes. Jar Jar Binks was the first full character in a live-action (out raced Fellowship by a few month where Gollum appears in few shots)
The Gollum in Towers set the standard for a real believable CGI character that newer films based their's (Jar Jar is still considered too cartoony, like Roger Rabit)
Hire a new camera man.
so much potential for a great show with these 3, but that awful host ruined it at every turn
I always expect Sean to stand up and very loudly proclaim that he LIVE IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!!
Sean Austin is the only one who could have played Frodo.
Except he played Samwise Gamgee
are they ever going to stop talking about these films on all these "cons" events? 😄 it's just year after year 😄 haha love it though
Love them my precious, my love
Jar Jar Binks was the first sorry people
And he was a shitty character. Gollum was iconic and menacing, and a super memorable performance from Andy Serkis.
But he wasn't motion capture. They're specifically talking about that
Too bad they didn’t take the same care when doing the rings of power. It’s total garbage
Is Elijah Wood gay now?
Yeah he’s absolutely gay.
he has a girlfriend and a kid now,, so no hes not gay,,but he seems too always act like a gay dude
@@zkevzwalshz yea I know he has a wife and kid. But you agree with me this persona is new right? He hasn’t always acted like this.
@@entertainingandfun2719that moustache doesn't help! 😂
@@Int-sum IKR hahhaa
uh-oh .. govt talk from Gamgee, doesn’t sound good. Quick tip, Astin, stay away from that wormtongue in the White House.
I find it kinda cute AND hilarious that ALL the bigger SKIP sections on this video is when Sean Astin is blabbering on and on and on xdxdxdxd hahahaha...the dude could talk until the end of days. God i Love that guy.
These films were so homoerotic
