- Elijah Wood has been in more than 60 films over the course of his more than 30-year acting career-from Academy Award-winning indies, to one of the highest-grossing box office film franchises of all time in Lord of the Rings. His latest project is No Man of God, which is set to release in theaters and On Demand August 27th. But how is he with spicy food? An impromptu tasting at the Complex offices last year didn't bode well, but now Elijah is back for revenge in the Season 15 finale. Watch as he takes on the wings of death and discusses Lord of the Rings lore, Austin food favorites, and the differences between horror films and video games. Thanks for another great season, spice lords!

😂😂😅
Very good, my friend!
Hahahaah perfect
I can’t stop laughing at this comment!

20 years later, it still shines why he's the perfect Frodo. What a nice guy
Absolutely! Match made in Middle-earth
He did a great job but one thing that nags me is that compared to the books movie frodo came of as complaining although I feel like that was the directors doing
@@stankobarabata2406 I’m referring to the books my friend as he was in the rings proximity for 6 years before his adventure started. I fully understand what the ring could or would do and how it affects someone. It’s just a preference he just came off as a bit complaining to me compared to the books
@@riven5677 Condensation. You feel this way because the only way that the Lord of the Rings could be properly adapted to tell effectively the story needing to be told was to compress a great deal of time, traits, behaviors, Etc into a much shorter length of time or a much more stark relief
@@riven5677 I think it's because in the books Frodo is pretty self-assured. It makes for better viewing when there is more of a internal struggle. Honestly I liked the movie because the ring is supposed to be tearing him apart and the book half the time he's just tired but you don't get the true struggle.
There is something so…disarming about Elijah Wood. An innocence and pureness that I instantly like. I used to be obsessed with his show Wilfred. Such an underrated and hilarious show.
Agree
Yes
Man, I miss that show. I used to get the biggest stomach aches from laughing at the humor on that show. 😂
Wilfred! That show was great.
THANK YOU! Wilfred had me in tears I was laughing so hard sometimes. But it also made you think! Great show!
Elijah Wood just seems like the nicest dude. Like his fame doesn't phase him, he's enjoying the ride of life

Well it almost swallowed him alive IIRC. He was severely depressed after LoTR
Not too many child actors grow up to be this stable. It takes a humble person to navigate through all the traps of being famous, especially when you're starting off as a kid.
Yeah, he strikes me as the type of guy to forget that he’s famous

I love when the guests are pleasantly surprised and impressed with the questions being asked 14:15
There are about 8 different 20+ minute compilations of guests just being impressed with Sean's questions
@xerowon3490 i mean he's a great interviewer lol, he kinda has to be tbf
5:16
Elijah's one of the best guests that's been on this show. He's genuinely excited to be there, he responds to questions enthusiastically and in depth and he even reviews the hot sauces as he tries them. Hats off.
I totally agree. He did an amazing job! Sometimes guests either complain too much or do the interview for the matter for getting it done. He did justice
some people just develop a bad attitude working the same job for too long. these actors are like "you want me to eat hot wings for free but i have to answer non-invasive questions about my career?" always a good idea in life to take a step back and look at where you are vs your ancestors who didn't even discover fire yet, some people want to me more like that and some want less.
Guy's like a kid at X-Mas - it was a delight to watch
He is incredibly, vividly descriptive of what he's feeling, tasting, and suffering through. It's a testament to how his brain functions, that he can continue to do that while eating all these wings.
Perhaps for me, most impressive as compared to other guests, is that he seems to be genuinely hungry during this interview. He eats most of the meat from the majority of the wings. Everyone else, by and large, only takes a bit or sometimes two - other than Paul Rudd, who ate the entirety of every one of his cauliflower wings.
Word, Elijhah , Paul rudd , or Shia Lebouf is my top 3 favorites on this show so far,
Elijah is so well spoken and articulate, hearing him speak just feels satisfying
Absolutely. Would be a pleasure to meet him.
and then the bomb destroys his eloquence. Love it.

I'm convinced LOTR is what it is, not just bc they're epic films based on epic books, but all the actors are like Elijah. Just cool smart dudes and chicks that created the best environment for one another to do their best. They are all comfortable with who they are and love to have fun. Loved this episode, you rock Elijah.
Because the entire country helped make the films
New Zealand was such an important factor, like the other commenter said.
But yeah, the cast definitely made the series very "generational". brings back so many memories to me as an audience, too, because of the actors' genuine camaraderie. I am 38 now and Peter Jackson's LOTR will forever be so nostalgically ethereal.
as someone who watches Over The Garden Wall every fall, I loved hearing him talk about how he especially loves when fans mention it. I also loved that, as per usual, Sean did his research -- but he still set up this opportunity for Elijah to mention other projects that are/were special to him!
Pay attention to how thoughtful all of Elijah's words are. He almost never uses filler words and always sounds so well-spoken and intentional. You love to see it!
Yes very intentional. He definitely did good on the writing portion on the SAT’s lol
He is very articulate and honestly it is refreshing to hear someone like him speak. Lots of people today have made language so lazy and dumbed down that it's a shame. They blame the school system too...which now i get cuz they don't even teach cursive anymore...but not so long ago they taught english and language arts thoroughly.
And then he drops an F Bomb and you can't help but laugh your ass off at Frodo swearing.

I think Elijah Wood was the last person on earth I was expecting to pull a 50 cent reference (6:21 - 6:27) in a Hot Ones interview.
Props to what seems to be a curious mind.
lol it made me giggle when he said it. The fact that that’s the exact thing that came to his mind in the moment is somehow even funnier. I don’t think I’ve ever spent one second imagining his private life, but now I want to imagine him blasting early 2000’s hip hop driving around town. Hahaha
That and the Kanye 45 he said he bought of washes in the blood. Would've never imagined but love him even more now.
Totally caught me off guard, I did one of those bark laughs
Well, he played in a Beastie Boys music videos so that's not so surprising. :)

A friend of mine got a cameo from him a few years ago which was supposed to be maybe a minute or less and Elijah ended up going on for like 5 minutes congratulating them on their move to Norway and and dishing out awesome facts about the country. Such an amazing guy.
The fact this guy STILL loves talking about Lord of Rings after all this time, all these interviews, is amazing and really shows how much the movies meant to him.

This has to be one of the best interviews so far. Sometimes there’s a guest I’m hyped to see and their personality just falls flat. Elijah brought it, he is a beautiful human being.
Elijah is hands down the best guest this show has had. Sean appears to be suffering and struggling more and Elijah continues to be well-spoken and thoughtful in his answers. What a champion!!
I’m in disbelief of how natural and enjoyable their conversation was throughout the end. We all agree that Sean's a great interviewer, but Elijah Wood as a guest is something else. He's just so effortlessly... himself. Not stuck-up, very well-spoken (even when he cursed it sounded amazing lol) and we can just see how passionate he is as an actor and human being in general.
Also the part where he talks about not wanting to come off as a dick, it may sound simple, but you’d be surprised of how many people out there who wouldn’t even consider that on day to day life, let alone celebrities. So, props to Elijah!

@Chilled To The Core Something is wrong with you or either you are very, very speculative to the point where just of sheer emotion and expression and tone of a person you judge how they feel or how sincere they are. Which is not necessarily a big problem. It just means you lack some sort of optimistic thought behind ones said way of punctuation. And can ruin things the way they are originally sought out to be due to the fabricated singular thought process that your mind clings on to. are you kidding me? dude has had mind-boggling levels of fame for decades. He's had time to figure shit out lol
@@ghbvc uh everyone has an ego but he does seem to have a small one which helps being self aware

When will he wear wigs
This is the epitome of what quiet confidence and security in who you are looks like in a person.
Definitely doesn’t try to be cool he’s just genuinely himself.. which makes him cool.
This is always my draw to the show. Even if the guest is an excellent actor...the heat will bring something out whether he/she likes it or not.
That was my first thought after his second wing. He seems so genuine and radiates in this interview. I am even more of a fan of him.
This 100%
Man blew his nose 5 times. That's cool
"Hey Shorties, it's your birthday"
Iconic.
Cracked me up too 🤣
I also died laughing at that. Wonder how many caught the reference.
Too good lol
ill never forget this
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley anyone who was born before 2000 polly Pretty familiar I'd say
Elijah wood is the most pure person I have ever seen when it comes to celebrities. I wish I could hang out with this guy.
I appreciate that Frodo returns from Valinor every once in a while to make a new movie. Truly the greatest hobbit of all times
The wholesomeness levels on this are up there with Paul Rudd.
Oh that's definitely one of my favorites!
Accurate
Elijah Need a MCU character
The one with Theo Von is really awesome also! Just two bros eating wings

Elijah Wood is probably the most well adjusted, nicest child actor who became successful as an adult. It’s a rare thing and he seems a genuinely good human.
I would like to add Sean Astin to the list of well adjusted child actors and general good dudes!
Nicest person
@Sappho yea him better imo, but I'm bias since I agree with his ridiculous humor and the weird movies he does now.
@Sappho yesss him too!!
I hate to see it, but they all tended to be guys who weren't seen as sexual objects. The worst thing that could happen in Hollywood is being attractive and there at a young age.
Wow, Elijah Wood is an extremely nice person. What a likeable guy! He doubled up on Da Bomb with poker face. LEGENDARY MIND! One of the best episodes ever! ;)
if u dont like elijah woods now u do. if u liked him before now u love him. hes just lovely.
"Hey Shortys…" bites wing "…it's your birthday!" 6:23 This man is pure gold!
I was looking exactly for this one, Elijah referencing 50 cents... high levelsssss!!!
Man of culture, more like man of taxonomy 😂

: D the only clues Elijah was affected were the courteous burps, slight glow, and the increasingly errant right collar!
This was such a delightful interview. Both Elijah and the interviewer had great questions/answer and the conversation was overall so sweet and friendly. Great job!
Hearing Elijah speak like a normal human give me hope❤️🔥
I love how he is just a normal dude. He doesn't feel like a celebrity at all even if he was Mr fricking Frodo in The Lord of the Rings. Also, he plays videogames like the rest of us. So cool.
Guy is always just doin stuff around Austin like a regular dude. A regular dude with a ton of money, but just doing stuff.
Thats why he was so natural in Wilfred, he just played an elevated version of himself. Well a version of himself that hallucinates an anthropomorphic dog
Yeeeeeah, he's just... nice. Just... nice. A nice guy. Like you watch him in things and it doesn't matter if he's good or bad in them. He's just nice.
I really wish Dirk Gently had gotten another season. I liked him on that.
We'll just ignore his American accent which seems to have come from nowhere. Certainly, not where he was born or lived most of his life!
@@russellcontreras394 omg I totally forgot Wilfred til just now it was awesome tho
"hey shortys.......... its your birthday"
one of the many reasons I love this dude.
so nice and humble and funny, such a nice person, its like he would just talk to anyone.
and just sayin... his eyes are like wow O.o i wish i had blue eyes like that
This is by far my favorite guest on this show to date
When I saw it was Elijah Wood, I wasn’t expecting it to be good. One of the best guests on I’ve ever seen. Very genuine and smart guy. It also helps when the questions during the interview are great. They seemed to click very well. Great job all around!
When he said
“Hey Shorty’s…it’s your birthday.”
I felt that..
ahahaha me too! I was sad when sean didnt sing the next line! ahahaha
only the OGs know
Perfect
Same! I listened to that song a few days ago. lol
this guy is way too in tuned with himself. its not a bad thing but i wish i could express myself and explain things like he does. very sharp mind and control of the language
Yes! He is incredibly articulate.
