I'm Scottish, although I live in Manchester England.. loved the pronunciation.. you guys nailed it. I love Highland Park dearly & enjoy your videos ... keep up the good work ..
Started watching the shows a month ago. Love them. You guys are great. 2 things: 1. Would you guys consider a list of whiskeys for eggnog? With it being the holidays, I thought it would be fun. 2. I found out something about cigars. If you get the nasty aftertaste in your mouth eat onion rings. The real ones, with large onion slices in them. It clears it.

Please try the Canadian Club 41yo. I got to sample it at the liquor store and it was the most delightful whiskey I have ever sampled. For $300 for a 41yo, it’s mind blowing.
Brian Pellerin wow, you’ve got me really interested... not sure how easy it’ll be to find now, but so you say it’s worth the money eh? Never been into Canadian, but that sounds like a strong endorsement!
I have an 18 year old Wiser's Oldest tax stamped 1971 that I would love to give to you guys. It is unopened. Purchased in Canada many years ago and has been sitting in a basement closest of multiple homes over the years. You guys should be the ones to crack it open.
I have a special place in my heart for Bunnahabhain (or is it my liver?). The 12 Year Old was the first Peated whisky from Islay I ever liked and it was the last distillery I visited during my 3 day visit to Islay.
MoahGentle no, it’s not. I’ve been to Bunnahabhain Distillery and drank plenty of their whiskies. The 12 year old is lightly Peated. Their Moine Olorroso casks are heavily Peated.
MoahGentle here are the notes from Master of Malt “Bunnahabhain bottling comes in a redesigned bottle. This 12 year old is lightly peated for an Islay single malt and consequently is a light, fresh dram. Now at the higher strength of 46.3% - for more complexity and flavour.”
MoahGentle perhaps you’ve got an unpeated version I’ve never heard of, but I’ve reviewed the whisky and every online source (including the one previously cited above) I have read says it is lightly Peated. Peat isn’t always perceivable as smoke, some Highland whiskies are lightly Peated and it comes across as earthly notes such as tobacco or leather. Google “Bunnahabhain 12” and show me a source that states it is unpeated.
When you talked about Steel Bonnets you mentioned "English Distillers". That peaked my interest and I researched Whiskey from England. Found some interesting history as well as the rebirth of the craft there. Would very much enjoy a review of the brands being made there currently.
Hey guys, just wondering about all of the whisky bottles being across from the window. I always thought that it should be stored in their boxes if possible and away from direct sunlight. Thoughts?
Great channel to learn about whiskey and goof off at work with!!! I just bought my first GLENCAIRN glasses and i am making the rounds through my own vault... this is awesome. Even some of the bottles i don't particularly care for are considerably more tolerable and interesting. I'm working on sending you a few bottles (Wichita to KC) which i am very excited to here your opinion on. Would you be open to reviewing a "spirit whiskey"?

Hello Whiskey Vault, my name is Brandon and I'm newly 21 years old, looking for a good whiskey (any kind) to get me started on my whiskey journey. I hate mixed drinks, but I can somewhat appreciate a very minute amount of Elijah Craig. Is there any whiskey that I could drink neat, and be able to get used to the alcohol while appreciating flavor?
Nice. I've been watching your videos lately. So glad you are reviewing Steel Bonnets. It is named from the area of the Border Reivers. Clan Armstrong was very much tied to this area. Glad to see a whisky that comes from that far south and one tied to my clan. I kinda have to grab a bottle. We were called Border Reivers. The history is dark. But very interesting. They call it Scottish/English because the area near the border was disputed land. Once called the debatable lands. It was this buffer zone where people were closer to their names and brothers than any monarch are national pride. When the crowns united they attempted to pacify the border through ethnic cleansing. Murdered many of my clan. There is a town in Scotland that still has a law on the books to hang any Armstrong on site. Now the border is relatively calm. A lot of history behind that name.
Can you guys review the Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Oat Grain Kentucky Bourbon if you can get it?Sipping on some right now and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Cheers!
Hi Guys me and my friend have been watching for a just over a month now, love the channel. Since watching we have tried a much broader variety of whiskey. Going from the more common JD, Bullet, Jameson to trying Angels Envy, Talisker 10, Laphroaig Lore, Bunnahabhain 12, Hibiki Harmony, Balcones Brimstone. And tonight we are trying Jameson Caskmates Stout edition. So far Bunnahabhain 12 has been my favourite, but Laphroaig Lore was the one with the biggest impact but still enjoyed it. My question to Daniel is what is the rarest whiskey you have ever tried? And secondly could you have a word with whoever distributes Angels Envy to the UK as you cannot get it anymore apart from one shop in London who had 20 bottles at £80. Love the show and Rex keep on mooching
I was watching old videos before I got to this. Best quote ever from the springbank episode " sweetness of a girl scout and aggression of a methhead " . Keep up the good work fellas . P.S everyone should go get some springbank.
I went for the Bunnahabhain Select Casks because I was on a budget (I was still really impressed for just under $300); the Laphroaig is amazing, but that was the first release, so I cannot comment on the current, second release. I've tried Talisker 30 as well, and it's one of the cheaper 30s you can find, but I just spied a Deanston 30 for under $300 as well - good luck!
@@jesusfreakinct Talisker might be up my alley. WIsh I had jumped into scotch sooner so i had a better idea of my palate - i'm still a little all over the board. Just bought a bottle of Talisker Storm. Other favorites are Monkey Shoulder and Ardbeg Corryvreckan (being polar opposites [price and taste], this has really thrown me for a loop)...
Love Machrie Moor, also Irish Gaelic pronunciation is so different. The "a" is more long like "maaakrii". Got corrected by an Ardbeg rep for the An Oa. Its "on oh' for them but id say it "on ohah".... rant over.... good luck deciphering that
I loved the Brodick Bay edition too! That and a 25yr old special edition are the 2 best from the arran distillery investment tried. Also [Mack-ree] is fine, you don’t need to do a Mel Gibson impersonation!
I picked up a bottle of Ledaig 13 Amontillado cask while I was in Reno (taxes up here in Oregon are a bitch) and it’s un freaking believable. I’m but a poor lad, and can’t afford to donate a bottle, but if you can get ahold of it for the vault, you should. It’s right up Daniel’s alley.
Fucking hell I'm obsessed with your channel lads! Always been a sort of whisky fan since my dad let me taste his Glenfiddich as a kid but since visiting Edinburgh recently I've become obsessed with the golden bottles of happiness. Pretty much buying a bottle every two weeks now haha, currently have Glenfiddich 12, Talisker 10, Benromach 10 (which is pushing the talisker for the top spot) Highland Park 12, Laphroaig Quarter Cask and Buffalo Trace. Hoping to add Lagavulin 16 next...
I don't know which one it is, but if it's the Braden Orach, I do not recommend; I found it to be sickly sweet. However, I'm an Islay fan, so you may love it.
