    What’s even better than the frame is the Ram interior. By far best of any pickup . I miss my Ram as bought Chevy this time .

    No more competitive automotive market than in US pickups. There is a lot of great work being done today, especially because these manufacturers make so much coin off each unit. It'd be a tough choice if you don't have a solid allegiance to a manufacturer.

    Nice demonstration Alex! I've never been a fan of FCA, as their quality and durability have been pretty bad historically, but I'm thoroughly impressed with this new Ram, based on what I've seen so far. I wonder if it will finally offer real competition to the best selling F-150, but only time on (and off) the road will answer that question. Good job FCA!

      The plastic upper control arms are the thing that concerns me. they say they are strong enough but Mopar's lift kit for the 2019s replaces the plastic on with an all-metal design.

    Ram took great care to listen to owners like myself and do their homework. The new-for-2009 current truck, while still very capable, was beginning to seriously lag behind in overall capability.
    Ram instead went full-hog on technology and design. The frame looks very beefy. And thankfully Ram did not take the bait and put boosted V6s over V8s in the Ram.
    This truck is going to really make things interesting in the class.

    • @youngblood23rb
      @youngblood23rb 6 лет назад +1

      HellKitty 101 Agreed I actually think Ram will ne the truck manufacturer to put a boosted V8 in their half ton, either in a Rebel or SRT Ram, either way I bet it will outsell the Raptor if they do, I will sell my Rebel and snatch up whatever 1500 they bolt a turbo or supercharger onto, in a heartbeat

      Still has weak payload ratings though. My neighbors new Laramie only has 1380 lbs of payload capacity. Didn't realize it was so low until he got it home.

    I have the air suspension and it has that active air dam on it and from what I understand the 5gen have lower payload than previous gen (something I read, can not confirm). I have confirm that comparing my truck to several friends of mine competing truck model, my 5th gen is much lower than theirs. Not impressed with payload numbers.

    • @hochhaul
      @hochhaul 5 лет назад

      Especially seeing the Ram's new plastic upper control arms with steel sheetmetal to add strength. They say its strong enough but we will see. The Mopar lift kit comes with all metal control arms which creates some doubt about the stock ones.

    Alex does the e drive rob horsepower from the engine like a supercharge since its driven off the belts? @Alex on Autos

    • @1gr8oil
      @1gr8oil 6 лет назад

      I wouldn't think the e-Drive would take any power from the Engine, as it is a an Electric Motor that is connected to the Engine by a belt to help give the Engine more torque starting off from as stop, and to also start the Engine after stopping at a stop sign etc. (STOP/START)

    • @swanblake
      @swanblake 6 лет назад

    Glad Ram stuck with V8's and a mild electric drive unit rather than pussify a full size truck with a Asian boosted V6 or a boosted Asian four banger. Why not twin charge a V8 with the mild hybrid drive?
